    Note to self: Don't be so competitive!

    I feel the same way when I see someone who has roughly the same stats and has hit milestones that I haven't I get that competitive urge. Its hard, but it can be a good thing or a curse like OKC said. Don't let it rule your WLS path

    11 Weeks post op Frenzy!

    I agree with the probably eating a bit too much and the kale may also be too much at this point. I was allowed certain veggies/fruit relatively early out 4 weeks +/- but nothing with seeds, tough skins, stringy (celery), etc. That's again where different programs allow different things. I have yet to eat celery unless it was chopped very small, like in chicken salad. I would eat smaller amounts and focus on just Protein for a while still. Soups are great and can be blended to mush

  9. My surgery was about 45 min to an hour from the time I left OR waiting area to they wheeled me back to recovery. I was given an anti nausea patch in pre-op. I haven't had any kind of surgery and I think no scar tissue and stuff makes it easier. He also only left me with 3 pin holes and one in my belly button (stomach exited there).

    Elusive Onederland

    @@Margie122 - you have lost more than I have but my doctor would like me to lose about another 30-35lbs so we are tracking about the same. I weighed 282 in Jan/Feb of last year and I have been on every holiday challenge and have yet to hit my goal. My current goal is 179 but I am hovering around 184. My hope is to hit 182 (-100) at least by 12/31/15...so I am right there with you. I will be raking, drinking Water, taking down decorations, eating Protein, cleaning/organizing, drinking water the next few days....see a similar pattern? WE got this - 1-2lbs by the 31st!!!!

    Elusive Onederland

    @@Margie122 - I totally get what you are saying and you are officially a scale junkie. I am a card toting member too. Keep hydrating and getting that Protein in even though its nearing that time of the month. Watch really close the salt content and get outside if you can and walk, eat protein only, rake leaves, drink Water, shovel snow, drink some more water, build a snowman (sorry I live in Fl) IT WILL HAPPEN {ONEderland}

  15. o..k...a...y... (sits down mouse and grabs a couple of peanuts <grazing, see other thread> and a swig of water) @@Dub - do you have any of that amazing barbecue you were cooking this weekend??? I need something to eat that is healthier....
  16. @@Dub - you saved a fellow NEWBIE! @@KLou - Dub is right, online support is a godsend because we can get online and say (type) what is really going on. I am referring to emotions and needs. If it is a medical issue always contact your doctor or go to the ER. I am still a "newbie" - I am 8 months post and yes - grazing at the holidays is not cool. I am doing it too. scale shows it as well. I think I am going to literally walk around with a bottle of Water in my right hand (I am right handed) and my cell (on BP app) in my left hand. that way I would have to sit something down to pick up a piece of pound cake, a potato chip or a glass of wine

    Back in the Game Again

    @@bellabloom - you need a break, period. Go out with friends (female and male) just enjoy - YOU. You have kids...enjoy them and being a mom. Like @@Dub, @@gowalking and @@OKCPirate said you need to enjoy you, and sift thru dates and not put a "title" or timeline on any first, second, third date... That tattoo you mentioned "someone who is happy in life" you need to really ask yourself if YOU are happy in life right now. Get there first, ON YOUR OWN. Not with a man beside you, its not fair to bring a man into the picture and then when you realize you are not happy he gets the blame. I am not saying he is to blame, or that you are to blame for your unhappiness. I am saying that if you need a man beside you then you really aren't truly happy in life. You have to be happy first, trust me. Been there done that.

    Insomnia after Sleeve?

    @@WalkOnWaking - no, but I have fought insomnia off/on since my forties. It has gotten worse and at times I don't mind. Maybe you can take some melatonin and see if you can kick your "sleep" clock back into rhythm. Call you doctors office and see if they recommend anything. If you are back to having caffeine I would back off on it as well. It doesn't affect me for sleeping like some. good luck
  20. @@The_Jeff - wouldn't you rather them be MORE cautious than not? I had to do a stress test because they picked up a blip on my EKG. I THOUGHT I had a MVP (mitro valve prolapse) because I had been told that years ago (1987 or so). Turns out, I don't. They are your medical team. Let them be cautionary and test and follow their orders... Congrats on getting to this point

    Time off work

    @@AlishaMay79 - I could've gone back the Monday following my surgery on Wednesday. I have a pretty physical job - but not everyone feels the same way. If you can work 1/2 days that may be your best bet, just to be safe. if you company is OK with testing out the 1/2 day thing maybe you could do that for a few days and then get a weekend and then go back to a FT schedule. it doesn't hurt to ask. you will be tired and remember to stay on track with Protein & Water, water, water......
