    Night Eating Syndrome

@@WL WARRIOR - yes, sometimes I need to pee. Unless I feel like I am going to wet myself (oops TMI) I try to go back to sleep - if I have more than an hour or so to get up. I get up by 3:30am M-F for work. I try to not drink after 6 either but I did get that extra 16-20oz in after 6pm (and in the middle of the night, which I quit doing). I also try to not let my mind start "running", or I am doomed and might as well get up. For example: I have woke up at 2:30 everyday this week. I just stayed up - I was wide awake I don't feel groggy either.....but around 7pm or so I am doing eyelid checks!!! By the way, I wake up regardless if its a workday or not. Hubby likes to sleep in - I can't, so I watch shows I have DVRd.

    Quest Bar

I ran through wal-mart this morning because I left my lunch - I got two of the premiere Protein bars because I had a coupon. I will have to look closer at the Quest bars and the Fiber. @@mark1733 - what is the protein (roughly) in them? Fat? Calories? thanks, jane

    Stall

@@reece1239 they happen...I am currently on a 3 week stall...Christmas filled carb holiday didn't help. back on the wagon now :]

    Finally Approved for Consult!

good luck and keep us updated!
  8. mine usually last a couple of weeks (3-4). I am currently in one now and was hoping to make a goal of a 6 lb loss by 12/31...didn't happen. I also went up 2lbs! That was different for me, I usually just stall but the 2lbs is a new thing for me. I have had numerous comments about the weight loss in last few days so I am going to try on my size 12 jeans. NSVs are the best!
  9. @@shelly7 - if that is your last "hurdle" have you started working a pre-op type schedule? I had opportunity to have my surgery within 9 days and had started my pre-op diet so my surgery could've been a lot earlier - just something to think about...............................
  10. @@ZombieQueen - how are you doing today? Did you call your doctors office and see about moving up your appointment? I agree that you need to look at possible dehydration. Are you on any BP meds? My BP dropped significantly after about a 25 lb loss - made me feel like crap. jane
  11. @@sumbrown - focus on prepping for the post-op part. You will be fine. Are you the first in the OR Monday?
  12. @@zdew - first of all congrats on making the seminar and considering WLS. Welcome to the family IMO I would stop using the word diet. This is a new beginning of how to eat right and this is a lifelong journey, not just something you do for a year and lose weight and then go back to old eating habits. Not trying to be negative but it is the way of life post-op, if you want to remain successful. It doesn't mean you will never have a piece of cake, a small glass of wine, etc. It just means you will need to monitor how much, how often etc. Get a small scale and start measuring out your food. Are you doing nutrition classes too? I did. You will want to stay within the guidelines the doctors/nutritionists office gives you pre-op. You can start that as soon as possible as long as you insurance doesn't have specific weight requirements. For now I would work on: drinking more Water, less caffeine, watch your sugars (less is best), practice chewing to "mush" and the popular no drinking for about 20 min (or 30) after you eat. Ask you doctors office about guidelines to follow and then get back on BP and let us know what they said - jane
  13. @@RNYDawn - I also have BCBS Fed and it was pretty quick, can you move your surgery date?
  14. I replied to the 600lb post and mentioned the Skin Tight episode. I enjoyed both. I approach the 600lb as a cautionary show now of what could still happen if I don't continue to use my tool (sleeve) like the OP stated. The Skin Tight was a bit more scary IMO. I know at 52 (almost 53) that things don't "go back" when you are over 100lbs overweight. I am within 20lbs of MY personal goal. I am hoping to reach it within the next 90 days or so. My doctor wants me to shot for another 15 - I don't know if I am going to push for that. The sagging "twins" and deflated "muffin top" are really gonna look sad If I was 20 years younger I would probably be pushing for plastics, but at 53? Maybe my "twins" because of less shoulder/back pain. I don't know about a TT.

    Feeling regret!

@@MrsSantiago - that a pretty typical feeling for most of us. For some it lasts a couple of weeks and some only a few hours. The desire to eat is probably IMHO in your head than you really being actually hungry. As the OP mentioned stay hydrated, get your Protein in and get outside/busy. You will probably feel different soon and feel like 90% of us - why did I wait (like @@VSGAnn2014 said) good luck and hang in there~

    Recovering Drug Addict

@@nj_sleeve_girl - IDK your situation and I am not an addict. My 24 y/o son is and is currently in re-hab. All I can say is Kudos to you for going two years clean and sober!!!! I had the sleeve last May and the stress of dealing with him is getting to me - Its great to see someone "making it" though The pain wasn't bad - I walked, sipped and only took meds the first day or so and then went OTC. I hope your medical team knows your history, IDK your drug of choice... I am pulling for YOU!!!

    Surgery is tomorrow!

@@saffron280 - welcome to the BP family. It is scary. I had the same worries, but the fear of diabetes, other health issues and getting heavier far out weighed (bad pun) the fear of surgery itself. I had no issues and still no REGRETS, only, like others - that I didn't do it earlier!

    Ashamed

I have said numbers before in the past to family and some friends, but recently I decided to just start saying "a lot" when asked how much. I don't like being asked how much I weigh right now. So that response is something like "consider me a work in progress" and smile.

    PreOp weight loss?

@shannonlarson209 - I think it depends on your health and there may also be guidelines you cannot pass depending on your insurance. I wasn't given a specific amount to lose just a pre-op diet to follow just knew it was going to be a two-week thing. I started that, 90% or so, as soon as I finished my req nutrition classes. When I got the surgical visit I could've actually gone into surgery within about 9 days. call your doctors office and ask, cant hurt.
  20. Its all normal (cold feet) and plug away I very , very , very briefly had those thoughts last May. Best decision I made was to go through with it! I am 52 and it was my first surgery. NO REGRETS!!!! How do you like the warm weather today in the sunshine state (I am in NE Fl)?

    Am I losing too slow?

@@Mom26 - you are kicking butt!!!
  22. IMHO WWs was great for me, for accountability, period. When I tried to do the online it didn't work. Getting on the scale and having someone else write it down made it real.
  23. I use a blender for smoothies, like others I cut up small and chew it well, if its a "drink" I blend.
