  1. @@smallbmi - crackers (carbs) have crept back into my diet and so have nuts(more than a handful)! I have been at the same weight +/- 3lbs for the past 2months. I have started measuring stuff out diligently and taking to work ONLY what I portion out. Grazing is a staring me in the face and I am about 25lbs from my goal and almost 9months out (the 6th). I should be there (goal) or pretty darn close by now..... "We got this, right?"

    What have I done?

    @@kristennichole - breathe
  3. @@Lisa_85 - did you feel sick after you ate? Is that what you are worried about or the drinking and eating at the same time? I was told, and we all have different stories, that the biggest no-no was drinking while eating or right after. I sip something occasionally with my food if it is dry. But its a sip. I am waiting 20-30 after I eat before I drink. Drinking up until you eat as mixed responses. I agree with @@4MRB4PHOTO about it washing through your stomach and making you feel hungry earlier.

    Where do I start?

@@kera2020 - after I figured out what was covered I then contacted a surgeon and went to a seminar. Once I had done the seminar I scheduled an appt with surgeons office and then we discussed getting the deductible covered.

@@kera2020 - WELCOME! Have you checked your insurance to see what is/isnt covered? That was my first step.

    Long days

@@sumbrown - today seems to be dragging for me but I am dealing with a messed up sleep cycle. I was up at 12:46am. My work day starts at 5am. It makes for a l-o-n-g day I am looking forward to the shift of the clock in March. I hate the shorter days....
  8. @ - have you asked your NUT about other options? Are you measuring and recording everything you are eating?
  9. @@Elode - how is your mouth doing??? Sorry I haven't been on BP a lot recently and probably missed an update.

    need emotional support

@@Sophie74656 - I asked that because my DIL asked about counseling with my son about 2-3 years ago and then about a year later she asked for a divorce. My son was floored and they have been divorced about a year now. DIL said he never "listened" when she wanted to talk about their problems. My point is what was his reason for mentioning counseling (if it was about money then) and it happened again (Friday) then that may be his gripe. If he feels you are not truly listening and keep repeating the problem then he has decided to stay in the spare bedroom until he decides to stay/go. I am so sorry you are having to deal with this and posting to get a guys prospective may not be a bad idea. Keep us posted and I am hoping you two can turn this around and get back on track

    need emotional support

@@Sophie74656 - I agree with the OPs. I am curious if what you did Friday, was somehow related to the same reason counseling was brought up by him a year ago, why didn't you go then? Even if it wasn't the same reason why didn't you agree to go? If someone in a relationship mentions counseling and the other doesn't go, to me, that sends a signal that the relationship is in trouble. Hate to sound negative, but that's my opinion. That to me is a question you need to answer to yourself, we, BP family, don't need to hear the details. That may be why he is so angry. (((((((BIG HUG))))))

    Taking sips?

@@Lisa_85 - yes a couple is fine, IMHO, you just don't want to guzzle a bunch...stay hydrated!
  16. I am weighing/bagging up or putting in small containers foods in 1 portion sizes. I am eliminating carbs as much as possible, which has been a problem since before Christmas (hence the stall). I just grab what I want in the morning before going to work: 3oz chicken strips, 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 4oz of tuna, etc and go. It eliminates the carb grazing

    1 Year post-sleeve

@@lslblues - I have experienced the people being offended that I didn't eat a lot thing. Talk you out of surgery?

@@readyforachange84 - hate to ask, but here goes...is he overweight or a friend (who wants to be more)? Some people are jealous that you may be skinner (same gender friends) and other may think you won't want to be friends/BF/GF if they are heavier than the "norm".

    Anesthesia...

last thing - how cold the room was and the anesthesiologist smiling down at me and putting the mask over my face after saying hello Jane. first thing - hearing my hubby, aunt and uncle in the recovery room. No pain, no nausea. I remember thinking, "did they do the surgery?"
  23. @@Kiwisleeve - yes, very normal. do as you were told and if you can drink water try to do as much of that as long as possible. I was told I had until mid-night. I was first in the OR. I was not allowed food after 6pm, but the OR nurse when I was pre-registering said to drink as much as I could until midnight. The better hydrated, the easier to find veins, etc...

    Eating and drinking

@@HealthyRN - I was told that the drinking AFTER eating was critical than the BEFORE eating. Think about it. The liquid pretty quickly (more than very well chewed food) will pass through your stomach. Its the AFTER that keeps you full longer. I will sip once or twice while eating because some foods tend to be drier to me. I am re-visiting the after I eat 30 min wait - I have fallen off the wagon and the scale is showing it.
