What's your favorite chicken salad recipe?
jane13 replied to CowgirlJane's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
@ - FEDEX me some! This thread is making me crave chicken salad. -
@@mandy - I like the Unjury. You just have to premix it with something BEFORE you add to a really hot liquid (coffee, soup, etc) it tends to make some small clumps.

@@ava32 - I liked Dollys version, but like you, I get goose bumps when I hear Whitney's version :/ -
I have been dealing with this before surgery 5/2015 and since WLS it seems to have gotten worse. I was up at 11;56 last night - never went back to sleep.

How do you know you're doing enough?
jane13 replied to gpmed's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@gpmed - It was pointed out earlier on another post about eating your Protein first. I eat a salad at times with grilled chicken/protein. The OP pointed out that the denser protein should be ate first (nothing else) then the rest of the salad. The idea is that it will make you feel fuller and you won't be as hungry. For Example :I would eat a bite of protein, then maybe a bite or two with the salad, then a bite of just protein. I have stalled the past couple of weeks and I am going to go back to eating like I did post-op. Protein (measured out) and then see if I can get a bite of anything else in (which I doubt). -
Its official - in Onederland
jane13 replied to Kristin7676's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Kristin7676 - great job! Be prepared for stalls...may have to hide the new scale :/ -
@@jennaggie - just like the OP said follow your doctors orders and try to stay positive. The "buyers remorse" is pretty typical for most and the hormone flush along with a major shift in eating just multiplies the feeling. Keep moving, stay hydrated try to get the Protein requirements set forth by your doctor and in a couple of weeks this will pass. Stay off the scale until you see the doctor, because it can be frustrating those first few weeks.

keep working your plan and make sure you are eating the right amounts (track) and if the "turkey burger" has bread - eat it without - PROTEIN first. -

I thought it was just me and just a few others. I have dealt with this off/on for a while now (before WLS) but it seems to be a "norm" now to do what @@Dub did last night...fall asleep, wake up, get up because I cant fall back to sleep. I get the "restless" sleep if I do fall back asleep. I have to be at work early but I get sleepy earlier in the afternoon and fight to stay awake so I can sleep from roughly 8-9pm to 3:30ish. Neither melatonin or Zyquil kept me asleep.

@@ylluz - I was losing slower than the norm and felt the same way with my doctor. I am currently -98lbs and have been trying to get back on track for last week or so. As the others said - if you are losing - no matter how slow - ITS LOSING!!! Even a gain of a pound or so is OK - stay the course. If you get off (like I have done) get back on!!! we got this!
