How long did it take from your first consultation until surgery day?
jane13 replied to ML573663's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
my insurance required 3 classes and those we done on a monthly basis. I was on track to have surgery in mid-February (initial consultation was November 11, 2014). I backed out and then reconsidered and surgery was 5/6/15 -
@@BigReid21 - that's hard to say, stalls vary in length of time. stay focused and it will pass and be prepared for the next stall. they happen. if you haven't measured yourself, do it now. you may be losing inches when the scale isn't moving- NSV!

Outpatient sleeve surgery?
jane13 replied to marissaNavarro75052's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@marissaNavarro75052 do you have someone else at home besides the kids? outpatient is not unusual, but you won't be able to lift a lot and idk how young your children are so unless you have someone to help it would be hard. I had an uneventful surgery and no pain. NO REGRETS! -

documenting and weighing out everything, even bites of food? how many calories and carbs? I would start ^ and maybe even mix up the calories a bit depending on your current amount and see if that gets things moving. stalls happen throughout this journey and there are no guidelines for how often or the duration. how far post are you? welcome to the BP family!

Question for veterans - hardest part for you?
jane13 replied to WitchySar's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
@14 months post I would say its prepping for the maintenance mindset because the weight is still there (I would like to lose another 10 pounds). I believe the "honeymoon" is over and the -2lbs a week days ended about 8-9 months post. I am still losing weight but very, very, very slowly. If I don't maintain my scale junkie mentality - weighing daily - I can creep up a couple of pounds too easily, because I am able to eat more and the emotional eater is still within me. I am 175 now and I am okay with that...but 165ish is my goal. Right now with personal stuff going on I am in "maintain, not gain" mode. If I lose, yeah...if I go more than 2-3 and stay there for a couple of days I try to really ramp up my Water. I am also trying the 16/8. NO REGRETS!!!! jane -
Another setback, long.
jane13 replied to CardinalsGirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I would definitely get with GYN and see what other options are available. I had the same problem but I didn't have my periods close together. I couldn't give blood because I was anemic and I would literally be exhausted during that TOM. I was told by my doctor that unless I was having them like you are (back to back and for more than a week) that as I aged (I was in my 40s) that it was somewhat normal. I was also heavy and the doctor said that the extra weight was also a factor as well. -
stress and WLS or in other words when bad things happen
jane13 replied to Christinamo7's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@Christinamo7 - I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. I too went through a big emotional event during my "honeymoon" phase and I ate on autopilot as I wasn't hungry most of the time. As others have mentioned get food prepped like you have done before and make sure you get something in your body for FUEL. Don't let food be a comfort, turn to your faith and family for that and remember that your BP family "gets" the food/emotional eating struggle and we are here too :] I am here if you want to talk. Please text me when you can as I lost all of my info about 10 days ago because my phone was beyond retrieving phone numbers. take care of yourself, your Mom and your family...
