    Feeling disappointed

@@lorri716 - life happens... I am 10 months 2 days post and trying to break into the 170s since before Christmas... You (and I) both know what we need to do, so stay on track fellow BPer... we got this!
  2. @@ssflbelle - I would think one or the other, not both at the same time. make sure you are still getting in the Water. Where in Florida are you?

@@AvaFern - I am in NE Florida, is he with St. Vincents? I suffer soggy boobs syndrome too I am thinking about a reduction/lift down the road...
  4. @@CowgirlJane - I ditto that - How are you this morning??? Hubby has had two of them. He was told to add lemonade to his diet to help fight the Calcium that help to make his stones. He did a medically supervised diet calcium free diet to see if they were being created by the diet (eating). Turns out the parathyroid glands above his kidneys were overproducing the calcium. His "diet" had no effect. He was directed to get a endocrinologist on board and since he has seen him the stones have stopped producing. The endo monitors his calcium levels and keeps him on a Water pill as well. He has had 2 and he said NO MORE!

    Crazy diets

I did Weight Watchers of and on for about 10 years. I thought, and still think, that the points crap where you had to have a little card to figure out your points or a computer/cellphone/something electronic was too much BS for me. I tried that plan 3 different times. No success worth mentioning. I also worked at a grocery store as a dairy manager. Every January (New Years resolutions) I would find those cards left all over my department. They were throughout the store. I would watch the people pull the card out and figure out if the food was good or not for weeks. Some would lose enough weight to notice. I would guess that 3 out of 4 put it back on and then some. I got to know them and they would ask about certain products (Hood dairy beverage, soy milk, etc.), so the weight loss was usually part of the conversation too. I love my sleeve. I KNOW what I should and shouldn't eat. I don't need an app/card for every time I eat something.
  9. @@GibbsGirl - I did the same thing about 6 weeks ago... Walmart - strolled by the markdown rack (plus section), couldn't find anything. walked off. walked by markdown rack (regular sizes) saw a 12/14 jacket... it wont fit, too small (that's what I am thinking)...what heck - - - tried it on, IT FIT!!!! IT EVEN ZIPPED!!! I am wearing it NOW! Its like a gold medal in the Olympics!

@@ryannryann - I am old enough to be your grandmother, but I wanted to welcome you to the family...pull up a chair, sit down and hold-on for a wild ride!
  11. @@Melanie28 - I was just reading about another BP family member who has kidney stones. This could explain the pain in the lower back. The pain generally radiates around to the back. My hubby has had them along with my mom and ex they are very painful Check out the thread by @CowgirlJane "The second most painful experience of my life..."
  12. @@TheNewSusie - sorry I am still new to some of the terms here...what is the "16:8"? The 5:2 I somewhat get, at least I think I do Unless you can explain that one too. Thanks in advance -
  13. I don't "go" daily so I help it along with miralax - drinking plenty of Water, walking, exercising seem to help as well. Maybe adding some movement (walking) may help with the back too. If I sit too long, or lie down too long, like I was told to do post-op (taking it easy...) I also tend to have issues with my back and bathroom trips.

    Anesthesia.........

I was scared too and like the others I really had problems - ask for some pre-op help (valium maybe). Good luck - picture that beach in Mexico :]

How Many Calories One Year Out?

@@Indieflickers - I had the inexpensive little scale I had grabbed at Walmart for $5 in my early post-op days and I literally JUST went and spent about $20 for a digital one, I am "AR" as well I didn't like not knowing the exact amount. My daughter was at my house a couple of nights ago and saw the digital scale and a bunch of little 4oz serving cups and snack size ziplock bags and said "Mom, are you REALLY weighing your food out?" "Yes" - she smiled, is also "AR"

How Many Calories One Year Out?

@@Indieflickers - I am in the same situation and I just started weighing out the food again, not just eye balling the portions. I have been eating a bit more Protein and calories and it looks as though the scale is starting to cooperate. Great job by the way
  18. @@katanne - don't buy massive amounts pre-op, just enough to get you through until you are able to get out and about. The sweetness, texture, smell, etc tends to shift post op so check out samples! Did you also get explained the not drinking after eating rule???Not every plan stresses that =o

@@madeline121 - Welcome! Everyone loses at a different rate so to tell you to expect to lose XX by two weeks and XX by the end of the month isn't practical. What kind of surgery? Search the BP website for recipes (there are threads with all kinds of good ideas). Did you have a NUT? I would contact them and or your bariatric team for what they want you to eat at this point because not all doctors want you to eat pureed foods at 3 days (mine did) some want their patients on a two week liquid diet. I eat at 10 months post around 1000 calories, 80 grams of Protein and I try to keep my carbs as low as possible (40 or so) along with over 64 oz of Water (usually around 100oz). good luck and welcome again! their patients on a two week liquid diet. 23. @@LMSWNYC - don't be surprised if they need to take you off the BP meds. Mine dropped enough after about 20-25lbs that I was breaking them in half, because my BP was too low. Let us know what the doctor says...
