@@Dejaalex - Welcome to the family. I slid over, and when you are ready, your spot on the losers bench is ready!!!! congrats! keep us posted when you are able that you are up and walking!

@csawesome - vent away, cry, yell, scream and get it all out of your system. Like OP mentioned there was probably something going on before that and he isn't going to man up the truth. Been there, done that. The first couple of weeks you are going to walk around in a daze. Stay hydrated, eat AT LEAST your required Protein and take care of yourself and your kids. Be prepared legally. Put a freeze on all accounts, esp credit cards. Change locks on the doors and get all the keys to the car YOU drive. If he wants to come by and get his stuff, he does it when you are home and make sure another adult is there with you. After a few weeks it will get easier - its those first few weeks and esp at night... Also be prepared, just in case, that he wants to come back~~~ don't do it! I would not do it without both parties completing marriage counseling while living in separate places. so sorry you are going through this... ((((((BIG HUG)))))) jane p.s. he is an A$$hole

Going to grandsons ball game and not worrying if the fold-up chair is going to collapse is a big one for me.

Fed BCBS, BMI 38/39, None of the top 4 comorbidities for insurance approval
jane13 replied to HopefulInVirginia's topic in Insurance & Financing
@@HopefulInVirginia - I cannot answer that particularly because I had a BMI over 40, plus other comorbidities. I do have BCBS Fed employees. Quick questions: Have you weighed in at a doctors office yet for an official weight? If not ask your doctors office what the requirement is for your height. I would wear heavy jeans, socks, jewelry and maybe an over shirt to help nudge the scale if needed. Are you 5'4"? I ask because most of us tend to bump up to the next inch and if you are actually 5'3" your BMI may be a bit higher. And unfortunately as we age we tend to shrink I was a little worried and was told they could have listed me at 5'7" because I am just under 5'8". You are also shorter as the day wears on and taller in the morning... -
@@KindaFamiliar - I am going to be asked WTF is so darn funny because of laughing me arse off here at work. YOU are responsible!!! YMCA - Young Mens Club of Australia?

Prep for Sleeve Beginning
jane13 replied to SenetriaStartingOver's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@SenetriaStartingOver - Hello young lady! Don't miss the forums in the age-related as well, you can read/post with other young people in their 20s going through this process as well. welcome to the family! -
@DMH82 I agree with everyone else that 27 is SUPER, but you cannot expect a person who starts out at 220 and needs to lose 80 pounds to lose 67 of it in 3 months, that is insane IMO. If you start weight is higher, had bypass, under 35 years of age or so, I might could see his reasoning. I lost around 20lbs in the first month. My doctor hinted at a larger loss at the next visit - 3 months later. When I went back 3 months later I was looking for a fight because I had ONLY lost 38lbs. He (doctor) came in the door and was telling me I was doing great and to keep it up, wtf? So I called him out about his statement 3 months earlier. He admitted that he knew by challenging me that I would push to make the 40. So I have his 'number' now. I actually saw him today and even though I am not where I think he would like me to be, he never said a word, except, "WOW!"

Fat free, low far, light or regular?
jane13 replied to FabFemale's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I pay more attention to the sugars (try to get less than 10grams) and protein (try to get at least 10grams). -
@@rebcal - I only hiccupped when I was "full" and only 1 hiccup.

@@lat72 - your surgery is next Tuesday. I would get in touch with your nutritionist and get a plan. No salt, Water, move, no carbs, sugars, move some more, water, Protein first and write down everything. You have to start looking at food as 'fuel' for your body. I would still call my NUT TODAY! You got this! keep us posted:D
-
@@lat72 - depends on your doctor and maybe your insurance requirements. If you don't mind me asking how long did you have to lose it, as in pre-op? What were the reasons why you didn't? Pre-op there maybe a very big reason why he wanted you to eat a particular diet, and maybe lose 5lbs, that is why I am asking. jane

@@ncw0813 - KF and ISG are right and totally correct.

@@crystalloveball - thanks for sharing. I am so sorry you had to go to the ER but your message about the post-op being essential needs to be shared so others understand WHY they are on it and take note. How are you doing now?

@@lat72 - where are you in the process? I am 1yr 4 days post... It is SOOOO worth it

What Is the Craziest Thing You’ve Ordered at a Restaurant?
jane13 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Food and Nutrition
@@DavidOso - I ordered a grilled chicken breast salad at Fridays. I asked that I ONLY get a handful, at the most, of the assorted lettuce w/no croutons, and that the rest be laid out separately. The rest was the Protein filled goodies: eggs, cheese, avocado, chicken. It all arrived on one plate but I still got the BIG pile of lettuce I hate to waste food and that's why I have backed off ordering salads at restaurants. To avoid "the look" I usually dissect my food and load into my to-go box that I get after my food is delivered. -
I wasn't required to lose a specific amount of weight obviously it depends on the doctor and their plans. I still had to do a pre-op type diet and 24hrs before was Clear liquids until 6pm. The pre-op is NOT easy but it is done for a reason. IMHO - the doctors have been educated and skilled in their professions. If they tell you something you should do it, for a safe surgery and hopefully an easy recovery. Get back on track NOW and stay true~

The BEST feeling in the world post op!
jane13 replied to miss_smiles's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can relate to so many posts form everyone: waking up after surgery ( I was nervous) fitting in the seats in a plane wearing my small clothes/getting rid of the bigger clothes I think my best feeling is being able to get on the floor with 20m/o grandson and play and get up without having to call 911 LOVE IT! -
@@Lisa_85 - I agree with the others response and like Jamie mentioned ^ you can always move the drinks off the table once you start eating. I order water to keep from explaining and I sip it until the food arrives.
