Overkill for cheap meds. GP word should be enough. -
Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery

@@reallyrosy Here's the best article I've found on the TMS subject: http://www.apa.org/monitor/2015/02/magnets.aspx It sounds like it may help but no one knows how it works and it may be expensive if insurance doesn't cover. It's approved for resistant depression after all other avenues have been exhausted, including medication. Not a willy nilly procedure if you ask me and may require maintenance sessions which means more $$. -

Nice! I want boobs. Kinda stuck but I'm hoping the new semester will provide some more loss. I only want to lose another 15#. My body looks like I had a kid which isn't too bad except I don't have a child to excuse myself. My regrowth is probably 2 in but curly so I recently cut it short to keep it bouncy. I still feel like some areas have yet to grow back. Probably need to talk to a dermatologist to figure out a solution. This year is definitely ask about defining my shape. Good luck to you this year!

Yes. Any psychoanalyst. Positive psychologist meaning they follow the Humanist model of positive psychology. It's a fairly new model but gaining momentum. -

Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
Zzzombrie replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like your husband needs a talking to. Especially since you've been diagnosed with BED. You have a medical condition that requires certain lifestyle restrictions and he should be compassionate towards you and your daughter. No junk food in the house and no ordering pizza without healthy options (like maybe veggie lovers or supreme with light cheese on thin crust and side salads). Sounds like you and your daughter make up the majority since you're both trying to live healthier, and majority rules baby! Curious: what did they prescribe you for BED, if you don't mind me asking? I'm sure I had it before surgery and struggle still, but back then it wasn't a diagnosis to be had. -

First, look for a psychologist instead of a psychiatrist. Second, ask them what theory of psychology they adhere to. You want someone who is a Humanist that believes in client-centered therapy and has an interest in positive psychology. Or just look up a positive psychologist. -

I've been considering doing the 5 day sleeve test to get some restriction back. My capacity isn't too bad but I'm noticing my emptiness more often. I still have about 13# left that I want to lose but I'm not worried about doing it quickly. @@mduffield is tots right about slow and steady. Got new orders to shoot for 50g protein/day and more fruits and veggies eaten first every meal. I'm also a fast foodist from being in college and I don't always make the right decisions but my good decisions outweigh my bad ones and I don't sacrifice my intake goals because of them. Just keep taking it one meal at a time and you'll get there if you work at it enough.

Whoa! You've been having it rough chica, but you've still come so far and you should always remember that. Did you take progress pics or keep a record of your stats? Maybe you should carry them around with you to remind yourself, and whatever a-hole who is still fat-shaming you, that you are amazing and have conquered much this year. Even if you aren't at goal yet, even if you stall, even if you get temporarily distracted, you will get there and you always have us as your cheerleaders. I hate shaming of any kind and will defend the honor of anyone regardless of how strong or resilient I think they are because shame can make mince meat of us all if we're not careful. Do not stand for it even if you have to be a little harsh because they might not realize what they are doing and the harm they cause based in the darkness of their own insecurities.

Over 100 pounds down...now questioning my marriage
Zzzombrie replied to daveintx's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well put. Water is usually deeper than it appears. I'm also in therapy and I study Psychology. And I have a Ph.D. in psychology. No s**t. And, naturally, I'm in therapy, too. Again, no s**t. My point was it's easy to project our own issues / experiences onto others who complain of issues that sound like our own -- but that (given the very little information we have to go on here) may be very different from our own and very different from the relationships in our own lives. Isn't that why we share each other's life experiences? To find that common ground so that we can better navigate our lives through vicarious learning? As for your degree brags, good for you but it doesn't explain much. I thought this was a safe place, but you've shown me otherwise so I'm outta here. Good luck with your dilemma OP. I hope you can figure things out amicably with your wife.
