Where is all the CT Lapbanders??
Beachcomber3 replied to kidder136's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Gail, I have had 3 fills. My doctor said he thought I was doing well and to come back in 8 weeks. I haven't really lost anything and actually went up a pound or two. I am carefully watching and am going back down. It is a struggle but I am learning to take cues from the band. It lets me know. The food seems to get hard to swallow. I need to eat slower. If I rest, the feeling goes away and I can continue to eat. I have to learn that I DON'T have to finish my plate. In fact, I can't finish it. I can't, I can't, I can't. It is hard to break bad habits but the band is letting me know who the boss is. Although I have learned all bad foods slide down quite nicely. AND that is not good!!!! -

I was banded in Feb. I feel like I am stuck at this weight. I need to get back on track. -

First, let me introduce myself. My name is Tina. I was banded on Feb. 11 and have lost very slowly. I have had 3 fills. Thanks so much for the menu. It is very helpful. I have a question. How much meat do you use in the One Pot Wonder? Thanks again for all your help.

Calling all February Bandsters!

Karen, Good to hear from you! You are doing so well. WOW! Can you give me a typical day of food for you..Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Thanks!!!!! -
I was banded on 2/11 by Dr. Nadzam. I am losing....ever so slowly but still losing. While I was slightly frustrated, I realized that without this surgery, I would have never lost the weight. My blood work is better and I don't need glucophage anymore. AND, I have maintained what I lost....Guess it is more good news than bad!!!!

This is a great idea. Thanks! How much of it do you eat for a meal? I guess I am having portion control issues. -

I was banded on 2/11 and just saw the scale move after many weeks of staying still. Started at 221.5 and now am 198. To me it is slow. I have had 2 fills. However, I see the difference in my clothes.... I was hoping for a faster loss. Well, I guess I should be happy that I am not gaining! Does anyone have any suggestions? What do you eat to promote a faster loss? Anyone have sliming problems? -
It is reassuring to hear about all of your experiences. I feel like letting my family read them to let them know I am normal and not some lapband freak who is doing something wrong. LOL I do have a question. Has anyone had this happen to them? Sometimes when I am really in trouble and I vomit, stuff also comes out of my nose. I know it is gross but it has happened. I am worried about aspirating food. :confused2:

I had to kiss my diet Coke good bye. I am too afraid to try it. I can have coffee or tea but if it is regular, it can not be counted toward my water intake. Decaf counts toward liquid intake. As far as the juice, I am sure sugar free is okay but I would check with your nutritionist or doctor. Good Luck!

Hi! How are you? Like your photo. So how are you doing?
I am struggling this week. I am stressed and want to eat. I am suppose to be cleaning and throwing out my stuff but I haven't been too successful. The kitchen guys are coming tomorrow at 9:00 AM and I need this place presentable. UGH! My next fill isn't until April 30th. I dropped down to 199.5 for about 4 hrs and am back up to 202. Enough about me, how are you?
Enjoy this beautiful weather!

Appetite before first fill: how much could you eat?
Beachcomber3 replied to Brinabrina77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 2/11 and hopefully will get my first fill on Wed. the 26th. I find myself able to eat anything and have to remind myself not to eat so fast!!!! I am glad to hear that this seems to be more of the norm. Hopefully our fills will get us back on track! -

Hello, I was banded on 2/11. I have my next appt on 3/26 and hopefully will get a fill. I am hungry and feel I am on the verge of reverting back to bad habits. Everything seems to go down without a problem. I did get down to 201 but now am 204. This isn't good....is it common? -
Lap band surgery, but no fill right away?
Beachcomber3 replied to elimatal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OKAY...so it is not just me. I was banded on 2/11 and have no restriction. I can eat everything and am hungry....I go in on the 26th and will beg for a fill. I have gained 2 lbs and know I have to stop this madness NOW! I went through surgery to be successful..... I WILL BE SUCCESSFUL! WE WILL ALL BE SUCCESSFUL! Thanks for listening to my whining..... -
So sorry to hear of your complications. Hope you are better very soon!

Shortgal, I am eating mushies, getting tired of that stage too. Can't please me, I guess. I go back to the dr on the 26th. Hopefully, I will get a fill at that time. I am unrestricted and hungry. Supposed to keep my meals to 1/4 cup but am doing more like 1/2. Stocked up on some baby food to help get through the workday. Any mushie suggestions? Tina

CTman, Welcome to bandlandia! I was also fortunate in not having much discomfort. Hope your recovery continues to go smoothly. Tina

Good luck today CTman! I am excited for you. Let us know how you make out. Here's to an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery!

Gosh, I am embarrassed to admit this, I am not sure what I have! Obviously it is not staples, but my wounds are still covered with the steri-strips. I am thinking glue since one strip fell off and there was nothing there. I don't think the sutures could have dissolved that quickly (banded 2/11) Guess I will find out at my post-op on 2/27.

Wantolose155, Congratulations on your clearance. Monday will be here before you know it! To all my February bandsters: I was banded on 2/11 and still am on liquids until 2/27. I also noticed that my food plan consists of only 1/4 cup of food even as I advance to all the other stages. Does anyone else have such a strict plan? -
CTman, Congratulations on your date. Sounds like you have got the diet under control! Keep up the good work! Tina
