hello, everyone. I have dieted all my adult life, only to gain more weight after each diet. I am now super-morbidlyrics obese. I had back surgery last summer. I was supposed to have another back surgery this past summer, but the anesthesiologists cancelled surgery as my BMI was too hignore at 51. This was a wake up call for me. I decided to get back on my Atkins diet. However, I wasn't doing as well as I had the year before. I had decided years before that I would never have weight lost surgery. It was too drastic. This year, with not being able to get the back surgery, and the diet not going so well, I decided to look into bypass surgery. I talked to people who had had surgery. All of them said the surge you was the best decision they had ever made. I decided to go to an orientation meeting. Wit the support of family and friends, I have gone forward. I am scheduled for surgery this wednesday, November 12th. I started psychotherapy, two weeks ago, because I know I am an emotional eater. I know it is going to be very hard not having my comfort foods. I have not followed the 2 week pre-op diet. I told the nutritionist about the non-compliance. She told me not to worry about it. I have continued not to follow it. I'm eating the foods I won't be able to eat. I'm going back to shakes, tomorrow. I'm also going to do beet, apple, celery smoothies to support my liver. I'll call the center on Monday and let them know what's been going on. Hopefully, the surgery won't be cancelled. If any one out there had the same problem before surgery, I'd love to hear from you.
