    Your Surgery and GERD?

Call your doctor. It may just be gas. You may need to take something on a regular basis for a while. I needed 40 mgs of omeprazole (generic prilosec) daily from months 3 - 6.

    Day 5 liquid diet help!

Call the nutritionist. I'd either add another shake or swap the applesauce, Jello for a clear soup or glass of skim milk/low fat milk.
  4. Yes it varies person to person. I walked in recovery. A week later I could probably walk 30 - 45 minutes before getting tired.
  5. As a 10 year cancer survivor, let me just say that thankfully a cancer diagnosis is no longer an automatic death sentence. Often it is treatable even if the treatments often suck. You get a complete pass for eating cake in this instance. Get your treatments and kick cancer's butt!

    Question

I tend to keloid. I use Scarfade gel to help flatten them. I know just use virgin coconut oil which I use the just about everything! I use it on my hair, my face and cooking as well.

    Stopped weight loss

There's your answer. I would limit coffee to one a day, increase the water and lay off the carbs in the sandwiches. Try lettuce wraps instead. I avoid breads, pastas and rice like the plague.

What Staples Are in Your Pantry?

I keep a good supply of spices and seasonings. Tumeric, garlic powder and cayenne are my most used spices. I also MUST have at least one bottle of sriracha sauce at all times. I either make or buy a jar of garlic paste. Lemon and lime juice are good for adding a touch of brightness to foods. Condiment wise I keep regular mayo, but actually prefer the Just Mayo, pickles, salsa, red chili sauce, Braggs apple cider vinegar, good olive oil and coconut oil. I also have red quinoa, organic black Beans, rolled oats, flax powder and TVP at the ready. In the fridge I always have eggs, finely shredded cheese, FAGE 0% Greek yogurt. I also keep a few cans of Progresso Soups on hand for when I am too lay to make my own. In the freezer, I keep frozen spinach. I wait for Acme's 10 for $10 sales and stock up. Perfect for adding to soups or tossing in a Protein drink. I try to eat as cleanly as possible so I don't buy foods containing red dyes, artificial sugars. Stevia is an allergy trigger so I don't buy anything that contains that. I keep processed foods at the bare minimum. I don't buy any diet foods at all. I'd rather do without or eat less of something than eat a bunch of man made chemicals. I try to cook from scratch and do a weekly food prep on Sunday's.

How did you deal with hair loss?

I agree with @Elode. It's really a crap shoot and there doesn't appear to be much one can do to prevent it. I was also taking 10,000 mgs of biotin a day and met or exceeded my protein requirements. I've was getting 60gms of protein at 2 weeks post op and currently get a minimum of 100gms daily. The best you can do is mentally prepare yourself for it.

    Vitamin B12?

I use Nature's Bounty D3. I usually buy them when they are having a BOGO sale.

    Hungry

Early on I had to do 3 small meals and 2 snacks. Perfectly normal. I couldn't eat a whole lot at one time.

    ????????Graze

Not sure what support you need here. You've stated that you are eating like you should. Why not? It sounds like you are self sabotaging.

How did you deal with hair loss?

Here's a few variations I do with my hair. I roller set them to give them a bit of curl then play with scarves & in up. My hair is thinner in the front due to menopause and I was already taking Biotin before surgery. Around 6 mths my temples started to thin and I think the hair is slightly thinner in the front. So far I haven't caved in and cut. As long as I can style it and feel great, I don't think I'll be cutting my hair. ETA: not sure why the top 2 keep coming out upside down. I keep trying to rotate them and it doesn't seem to help.

    Bathroom?

Agreed. I was on colace for the frst 30 days post op. I went on day 5 and have been regular ever since. I added spinach to my homemade protein shakes. I think that helped keep things moving.

    Need advice

I agree. A toothache seems harmless, but can be a BIG thing. If your doctor has an on call line, call them ASAP. It may be disappointing to be this close and have to postpone, but you don't want to risk complications.

    Unprepared

Agreed. I once had a really crazy day. I didn't get home until close to midnight and then I just wanted to fall in the bed. Thankfully I like in a city where places are open 24 hours. I ran in Walgreens and got a cheese stick and a protein drink. My calories were still really low and I missed my protein goal, but it would have been much worse and I likely would have gotten sick. Sometimes going without is not an option. Nuts, protein bars that don't melt, cheese crackers, jerky or anything that can survive in the heat are perfect emergency glove compartment stashes.

    Diet & Exercise Regimen

You really should call your nutritionist and review your daily food intake. They should be able to provide you with some sample menus. Hopefully you are at least meeting the minimum Protein and Fluid requirement. Your calorie count may be low, but that protein is important and can impact your weight loss. You may also want to consider upping your exercise routine a bit. It may jumpstart your metabolism and your appetite.
  21. Add another glass of milk or 2. It's not much calories, but it may get you through the day.
  22. I eat fairly clean as well. I do some soy, typically the stuff I can buy that's organic & GMO free. Protein powder I use Isopure. It's 100% whey isolate & gluten free, but I doubt it's grass fed whey. I also do whole grains. One of my favorite brand is Bob's Red Mill. They are GMO free. You may want to try some of the vegan brands like Vega, Biochem and Raw Protein. For supplements you could try KIND brand. They are pricey but good.

How did you deal with hair loss?

I've got bra strap length dredlocks. So far the loss is mostly at my temples in the front. I've been doing scarves, side parts and pin up styles. Hides it pretty well.

How do you puree your food?

Nutra bullet. I have the original version and it's still going strong. A Vitamix is on my wish list of things to buy.
