    Steroid shot and the sleeve

Best to let the surgeon answer that. Just come up with a plan for how to manage the added hunger.

    My Hubby is Brilliant

Even easier, create an app. Most of us have smartphones. Instead of yet something else we need to by for post-op life an app in both android and iOs could work. It could be set up so that we had to download and set it up with out NUTs so it's set up to our own individual needs. I hope I didn't just give away the creation of facebook 2.0, but there ya' go!
  3. I can say for myself this was part of a journey. I know that sounds trite, but it really was. I've been a long time vegetarian, but I can honestly say at least 10 of those years I really should have considered myself a junk-a-tarian. I didn't eat meat or seafood, but I wasn't eating healthy. Part of what made me decide to have this surgery was seeing the changes that cleaning up my diet did for me. Cutting back on fast foods, processed foods and sodas made major changes in how I felt and my health. However the damage was done. I was morbidly obese with chronic ongoing health issues. This surgery was just as much a tool as deciding to cook from scratch and go to the gym regularly was.

Light at the end of the tunnel.

Not quite the best way to lose, but glad to hear you are on the mend. Thanks for the update. Continued good wishes to you.

@@jobillandjosh - Isopure is unpleasant in Water, but I found it okay in soup as long as I dissolved it before adding it to the soup and gave it a dash of sriracha. I grew to love my cream of black bean soup. Once I got to purees and soft foods I got fancy with it and garnished with diced avocado and shredded cheese. Thankfully I only had to do 2 weeks at each stage.

What u use to make scrambled eggs

Butter or EVOO. I also sometimes cook them in the microwave and don't add any oil or butter.
  9. Being trapped is horrible. Especially in a job because we all have to support ourselves. I make a move up or get away plan. 1. Review your skills 2. Honestly review your job performance. If you can change or relearn ways to make your job better then do so. If not.... 3. Polish up the resume and seek to gt out ASAP. This may mean putting up a front and being a stellar employee. Ways to deal with a sucky job: 1. Take advantage of allowed breaks. I always made it a point to go out for a walk during my lunch break. The upside of this is it means exercise for you. Pack your lunch so you have healthy food options. Bring your Water bottle and truly try to chill. If you can find a nook or quiet spot where you can meditate even better. 2. Post work activities. This is the time to burn off steam by exercising. 3. My new "treat" are cute workout clothes. I mentally tell myself I deserve those cute sneakers for sticking to my WLS plans. You can scale it back to small things like if you make it a week eating well, buy a new pack of headbands or a cute tshirt. If your drink all your water for that week, splurge on a pretty water bottle. Remind yourself that this is about self love. Write it on cards and stick them on your mirrors at home. Put a post it note in your lunch reminding your that you're eating well to be the better you. SAVE I once stepped out on faith and left a job with no new one in sight. I felt like the job was literally killing me. I was stressed and looked awful. My doctor was even concerned with how bad I looked. I saved up enough to pay for 3 mths of bills. (In hindsight I should have done 6mths) and handed in my resignation. Thankfully a month later I did receive another job offer. Hang in there. Find anything to do beside eat. Puzzles, therapy, ANYTHING but self harming behaviors.

    HELP

I agree. Get treatment for the depression now because sometimes the surgery can put your hormones temporarily out of whack and make post op recovery more stressful.

    Regret surgery

I never regretted this for one single minute. Nor do I think it's a waste of $$$ or an indication of lack of self control. We are dealing with multiple factors: genetics, health issues and diseases and addictions. Know when you need help is not a sign of weakness, it's a sign of strength. If we could all do this on our own the need for this surgery wouldn't exist and everyone in the world would be at an idea weight. This surgery isn't magical. You still have to work at. What it does do is give you a chance to relearn how to eat and actually overcome the many roadblocks that have prevented you from losing weight on your own.
  13. That's something you need to clear with your bariatric and primary. It will depends on your levels.

    Food Intake

Likely that "full" feeling is gone because you no longer have any internal swelling. You you want to fell sated, not full. Full often means you ate too much or close to it.

    Protein shakes

There is no rush on it. Just aim for staying hydrated and meeting your protein and fluid goals. It may take some time to work up to meeting the bare minimum requirements.

My insurance is paying my gym membership

I have Keystone 65. I was paying $32 a month at my gym. Then they started accepting Silver Sneakers which is part of the wellness component of my plan. I was able to switch over at my gym with no enrollment fee. I have an all areas membership at my gym. It's a major chain and I can go to anyone in the US.

    Extreme temperatures?

As long as it's not scalding hot drink it. You can benefit from food you can't keep down.

    B-12

I was taking the sub-lingual but quickly outpaced it. There is a concern with getting this from foods and the myth that vegan/vegetarians aren't able to absorb enough from foods, but my level tripled while taking the supplement. I haven't needed it since 6mths post-op.
  19. Hip/thighs. My top half is literally a size smaller than my bottom half.

    NSV :o)

    That is awesome! Congrats!
  21. Increase food intake or increase the meds? If the meds aren't working then call your doctor back. You have to nourish your body but you work up Protein and Fluid goals. Set small bench marks for yourself. Your only goal should be to not get dehydrated. If that means sipping all day then just take a sip once every 10 minutes. However I would address the anxiety first. A large part of being successful with this is mental. Get the anxiety under control so you can deal.

I find the Isopure or any of the Protein powders mix better if you dissolve them in a tiny bit of Water before adding them to your food. Especially if you use a fork or small whisk. I add about a tsp per scoop and then slowly add a few drops until it's smooth and creamy.

    Honey

I eat raw honey in moderation. I am allergic to stevia and most artificial sweeteners. It hasn't interfered with my weight loss in the least. And it was never on my list of do not eat foods.
  24. Have you talked to your doctor? You have to get nourishment so it's either try purees and soft foods or drink shakes. If your anxiety was due to a bad bout of acid and you have addressed that, then you may need something for anxiety. Call your doctor ASAP. Otherwise you'll end up back in the hospital which will only prolong your healing and feeling better.
