    What's for dinner?

Not a fan of morning star. Too many fillers. I either make my own or I buy brands like Lightlife or Hilary's. Yeah, it was pretty soft. The recipe has you add the quinoa and Water as stuff and then bring it to a boil and simmer it with the lid on for 25-30 min. I did 25, stirred it, and then covered it for another 5. Properly prepared quinoa should be soft & fluffy like rice. Do you rinse your before cooking?

    What's for dinner?

Boring dinner because I was running around today. Half a veggie burger with a bit of cheese and fried onions over romaine. Now I'm sipping an Isopure Nocarb to get the rest of my protein in for the day then back to my water.

    Acid Reflux

Call the doctor and have them prescribe a prescription strength PPI. Avoid any acidic foods: citrus, coffee, tomato based. Stand up or walk after each meal.

    Slow loser

There are people who are slow losers. Also people with lessor amounts to lose may lose at a slower pace. Low carbs is not the always the answer. Carbs are beneficial to you depending on the type of carb. Complex carbs can actually play an important part in your weight loss efforts. I would try and increase water intake since that can impact your weight loss. You will have to decide if exercise will help or not. I know for me personally exercise is key. I have a slow metabolism due to a medical condition and medication that slows the metabolism. If I don't work out regularly, I don't lose. However, there are plenty of people who make it to goal without exercising.

    Bummed and angry

I didn't because as much as I like good food, food didn't always = fun. I developed multiple food allergies and my old friend food put me into a 4 day coma and sent me to the ER more times than I could count. I had to always be vigilant on guard, taking a magnifying glass with me to the supermarket and reading labels to make sure I didn't get items that would trigger my allergies. I was ready to change my relationship with food. I never viewed it as not being able to have food ever again, just having better control foods I do eat an enjoy. I viewed it as an adjustment rather than a restriction so I never felt deprived. I don't regret for one single moment having this surgery. I wish I had done it sooner.
  6. If I'm not using the nutra bullet I start with a small amount of Water or liquid. Not more than a tbsp, sometimes less. I always put the liquids in first. I then use either a fork or small whisk. I add half the scoop and stir. When that's absorbed I add the second half. It make get a little paste like but keep mixing, if necessary add a tiny bit more water and blend until smooth. Once that's completely dissolve add the rest of your liquids. In the nutra bullet I just dump everything together and blend. I'll give it time for the foam to settle and add ice to if it I'm going out.

    Helpppppp.......

My concern with fruit juices is similar to yours. They can be a gateway drug to sweets. You may want to play around with it and come up with a workable compromise. I like grapefruit juice. I know most people don't but I have an unusual palate. Once a week on Sunday's I have a proper Breakfast and I'll have 4 -6 ounces. Did you tell your doctor your past history if rapid weight loss? Either way. You now have key items to monitor. Overall it sounds like you are doing well.

    Helpppppp.......

Everyone has already offered really good advice. I'll join the chorus: skip the juice, eat the whole fruit instead. Less sugar and way more fiber.

    Pills ????

Take them slowly and with protein shake or food. For example take 1 pill, wait a minute, then the next and so on. Make sure you take them more than an hour before bed.

    Bowels Freezing?

Perhaps they did pinch a nerve or something during surgery. I've never personally heard of that happening during WLS but if someone has complications I supposed anything is possible. Sleeve surgery shouldn't have that type of effect. Pretty sure they don't go anywhere near those nerve endings.

    Bowels Freezing?

I don't understand what your are saying about his bowels. The tube you are describing sounds like an NG tube, but that's usually for nutrition.
  14. Tell the new doctor the situation. She may decide 3 year old records are not worth the trouble or she may request them herself.

    Planet Fitness?

Yes there will be plenty of machines you can use and eventually you will fit in them all. One secret I have found out about the gym is really no one cares. If you don't allow yourself to feel self conscious, you'll be fine.
  16. Welcome! Just keep sipping, you'll get there!

    mini binge - anyone else?

It's not that you don't have sweets or planning them. It planning healthier alternatives the "occasional" not so healthy treat really and truly is occasionally.

How are you doing with exercise?

I mostly do aquafit at the gym. It's an indoor pool. I've been taking class for 4 years now. I have DVD's, dumb bells and kettleballs at home for when I get snowed in. I also have a mountain bike I can use as long as there's no snow.
  19. I would ask the doctor. From what I've read studies are starting to come out that say vaping can be just as harmful as smoking, but I don't have any first hand experience with it. The smoking secession classes may use nicotine patches, but the goal is to step you down to quitting, not maintain at a lower nicotine level. Better safe than sorry, check with the doctor.

    Program too fast

I was back on regular food at 6 weeks. No pre-op diet, no Clear liquids phase. Just 2 weeks All Liquids, 2 weeks Purees, 2 weeks Soft Foods and then whatever I could tolerate.

PO day 4 - GERD pain

Just go slow. It takes a good 5 - 7 days for the meds to get into your system and kick in. Just keep sipping slowly. If at the 10 day mark things don't change ask your doctor for something stronger.

Am I the only one with Diarrhea?

It's not uncommon. Sometimes it's a mild and usually temporary reaction to the milk proteins in the protein powder/drinks. Sometimes using non dairy milk or water instead of cow's milk helps. Sometimes people need to switch to soy or other plant based protein drinks. For most people it goes away or lessons with the reintroduction of regular foods.

    Unsupportive Relatives

In psychological terms you are the identified patient. I agree she doesn't love you, because she doesn't know how.

    Unsupportive Relatives

Also, I'm learning: When she says something negative To say to myself: "I don't have to own that I don't have to react" It goes much better when I follow this and it's empowering and freeing This is the best thing you are doing for yourself. I'm sorry your mother thinks tough love will change you. I truly hope this surgery is for yourself and not her because someone who doesn't love you for you is not going to truly love you no matter what size you are. If it's not your weight, it will be something else. I would limit exposure to her to bare minimum. You might also want to explore legal counsel regarding your inheritance.

Miserable in need of some great help

Have you tried switching proteins? You may also need to really dilute them down. Sometimes it's a matter of trial and error. Keep at it, even if you have to take a sip then wait a minute, and stay in communication with your medical team.
