So sorry to hear this. Sending good vibes & prayers for peace and calmness.

    Wine

But they dont..so thats why these forums are hereThese forums are in no way here to replace your doctor or nutritionist. If you have a question that wasn't covered doesn't it make since to call the person you are paying to manage your health? I can share my experiences but I am in no way qualified to do more than give my opinion.

    Stalls....

I only weigh once a month or when I go to the doctor, whichever comes first. One of the perks to this is every time I get weighed I have shown a loss so if I had a stall I missed it. It's honestly a lot easier on the ego so I try to stay away from the scale & focus on eating properly and exercising.

    Severe Reflux!

I'm a little over 13 months. My doctor starts his patients on 20mgs omeprazole from day 1. I had no issues with reflux until about 3 months in. I then increased my daily dosage to 40 months. From 3 - 6 months I took that daily. I realized I would experience acid in the early evenings so I would take it around 2 - 3 pm. By month 7 I no longer needed it and haven't used it since.
  5. Keep in mind not everyone experiences pain. I had zero pain, gas, etc.... Stay positive!

    Flavored Water

I prefer Fiji if I buy bottled water, however I find using the Pur water filter and boiling works best for me. I have an infuser water pitcher I keep in the fridge.

    Flavored Water

Try mint and cucumber. I like that in the summer . It's very refreshing.
  8. You've lost already. Remember they removed 75% of your stomach. The thing is they also pumped you full of IV fluids and pain meds. Stay off the scale until your first follow up. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

    Severe Reflux!

Agreed consitancy is key with PPI's . I had to increase my dosage to 40 mgs a day in order to get relief. I also made sure to stay away from acidic foods like tomatoes, citrus and coffee. I now no longer need a PPI and can eat pretty much anything.
  10. I find a food diary invaluable. I fill mine out every morning so I know what I need to eat to hit my Protein goals. I review it each evening before bed and add in any exercise I have done. It's a concrete view of how I am doing. I stay away from the scale unless I go to the doctor because it makes me crazy. I am on a fix income so I do a weekly food prep. I also clip coupons. Inexpensive sources of protein: eggs, Beans. Soup can be made with low sodium broth and frozen mixed veg. Add some unflavored Protein powder can be added to soup for a quick an inexpensive and easy meal. I like to garnish with chopped nuts or slivered almonds and shredded cheese.

    When you have no appetite/hunger...

I fill out my food log first thing every morning with a projected list of what I will eat. I know 1 person in real life who had a bypass years ago. She never followed doctor's orders and not only regained but has no teeth and break bones frequently because of nor getting the proper diet or supplements. Even on days when I am not hungry I will drink a shake because I am determined to hit protein goals each and every day. Also skipping meals was one of the bad food habits I had years ago. Part of maintaining good habits for me is eating a minimum of 3 meals a day so I just make it a point to do so.
  12. Speaking as someone who started at over 400 lbs let me add to the chorus; STAY OFF THE scale. If you are going according to plan the weight loss will happen. Obsessing over numbers on the scale will only make you crazy. FYI - If you're losing, no matter how slowly, you are not stalled. A stall is zero weight loss.

    Guacamole

No recipe, I keep it simple: avocado finely diced red onion jalapeño to taste lime juice diced tomato salt & pepper to taste Since I eat avocado with pretty much everything, it goes on whatever is handy. Tossed in salads, in lettuce wraps or topping black Beans and salsa. My favorite brunch is black beans, over shredded lettuce with a sunny side up egg, shredded cheese, guac and salsa
  14. Halo Top ice cream packs 24g of Protein and only 16g of sugar in the entire pint! I usually get at 4 - 5 servings from mine. Find Halo Top here: http://bit.ly/FindHaloTop
  15. Perfectly normal. You need to stick to that teeny tiny sipping. Especially while your tummy is still healing. What I did to balance things out was have Protein shakes for Breakfast, lunch and snack if necessary, then have soup with unflavored Protein powder for dinner and maybe herbal tea as my evening snack. I needed to balance that sweet out with the savory each day. Anytime I was not drinking protein I sipped Water.

    Feeling depressed

I never think about it. I focus on enjoying the company not the food. With a bit of planning it's easy. Since I have allergies I was already used to reading menus beforehand and planning what was safe before going out. If nothing was available I'd eat before I went and just get something simple to drink on and nurse that.

    WORK SHOP

You'll have to ask your program. Some of us have nutrition classes, but I'm not sure if that what your program uses the work shop for.
  18. Because the body is fickle and will hold onto every ounce of fat. Stay the course. Once your body gets the message that you aren't dying it will release and the weight loss will continue. It times like this that make it important not to rely on the numbers on the scale as your only measuring stick for progress. Take your measurements. I do beck, boobs, waist & hips. Even on days when the scale isn't moving or appears to move backwards, those measurements will tell you how your body is shifting.

    Weighing Benefits vs Risks

I agree. I was always an "active fat". When I turned 40 things changed. It became more of a challenge to do the things I liked. I didn't let it stop me but it definitely slowed me down.
  20. Speak with your nutritionist, find a level that is healthy for you and stick to that. It sounds like the frequently changing up is confusing your body.
  21. How many calories do you typically eat a day. What is your average daily protein intake? Do you work out?

    Appointment for phychiatary

Because this is as much a mental change as it is a physical one. They want to properly access your understanding of what this surgery means. A small percentage of people end up severely depressed post-op. This is a good tool find out if there are supports in place to handle that. Just be honest with them.

    Weighing Benefits vs Risks

Know you and know your body. It's not just risks of having complications with surgery, it's risks of what your life will be without it. Pre diabetes means being on the cusp of diabetes. Are you ready to face life as a diabetic with all the meds and health complications that come with it? I did my homework and walked into surgery calmly and confidently. I had the easiest surgical and post op experience. I am not alone. However a post about walking in recovery, no issues with gas, vomiting, nausea, being able to eat everything and no constipation doesn't gain as much traction as a post about the awful hospital experience.

    Loose skin chafing

Take pictures and make notes each an every time you have to go to the doctor or have an occurrence. This is your evidence to use if/when you petition your insurance company for skin removal surgery. My ortho already said if I need it he will write me a letter.
