Please take this seriously. I would contact backpage admin, not this Bella person. Make sure your name and number is not given out. File a police report and change the number. This is quite serious. I have heard of women having creeps and crazies show up at their house to rape, have rough sex, etc... It's far too easy to reverse look up and find someone's address from a phone number.

Lactose Intolerance?
BLERDgirl replied to seaux_beautiful_vsg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you use non dairy milks or Water to mix your shakes and still have issues, try using a a vegan based Protein powder such as soy, hemp, pea protein etc... -
@@acyum2008 - Keep walking and also raise/lower your arms as if you were lifting hand weights. The motions will help the gas to move out.

I swear you have to eat snails pace slow and foods need to be super moist. My NUT had us practice eating pre-op by taking tiny bites and chewing until the food dissolved in your mouth. It was a pain in the rear but it really helped with eating post op. No stuck feeling from eating too fast. What foods were you trying to eat that were getting stuck? You are very early out and likely still healing. Give it time.

Stop weighing and stick to the program. Weight loss is not a linear progression. You will gain, lose and stall before you reach goal. The scale is not your friend if it makes you cry. Get your protein and fluids in. Get some regular exercise. It will happen.

My advice is do the mental work now. The people I see having trouble are often the one who can't adjust to having food as their go to for comfort/boredom/etc.... If it really starts to become a challenge, seek help. Support groups, therapy, whatever. The help is out there if you take advantage of it.

I think a lot of it depends on the person and the attitude. I ate out fairly soon post-op, maybe around the 8 week mark. It just wasn't an issue. I had no difficulties eating slow so I didn't get that stuck feeling. I wasn't envious of what my companion was eating. I ordered what I could eat, ate what I could and had the rest to go.

Have you read the story of Zola? Google it. It took the internet by storm last week. Backpage.com is a hook up site. Prostitutes post there to advertise themselves. REPORT THIS TO THE POLICE IMMEDIATELY and take all precautions. Contact the site admin to get the page taken down. Change your phone number and email addresses. You need to find out who listed you on that site and press charges. This is more than an annoyance, this could be potentially dangerous.

Coconut oil works for my hair. I use it all the time. I also used it for oil pulling, was kind of "meh" on the results. I prefer just a regular rinse of original Listerine.

PA Newbie....decision has been made!
BLERDgirl replied to muhol88's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There really are a lot of good options in this area. We have several major hospitals (Temple, UPenn, Jeffereson, Hahaneman, Einstein), most of which are centers of excellence. Then there are also bariatric centers like Barix Clinics. You also have an insurance that I am pretty sure is accepted at these major hospitals. Take your time and check out at least one more before deciding. Ask about pre-op diets, post -op life, support and follow up offered. -
PA Newbie....decision has been made!
BLERDgirl replied to muhol88's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll say this. I saw a specialist at Jefferson and overall was pleased with care and treatment there. However I am biased. I too had my surgery done by Noel Williams at UPenn and could not have had a more pleasant experience. The best part being NO GAS Pains post op because of how he does his leak check. I know for sure they accept most BCBS plans. I also would recommend anyone looking into having WLS to check out at least 2 different programs before deciding. I looked at Temple before deciding on U Penn. -
That would be based on your bloodwork and/or a follow up bone density scan. We all have different body makeup and you would be best to add or drop supplements and vitamins based on what your body is demonstrating a need or deficit for.

Project Runway, Fashion, and Plus Sizes
BLERDgirl replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in The Lounge
I already know and I'm not surprised. That person has been doing a lot of press lately Much more than usual. -
The few times I've had a drink I didn't notice a difference.

Except for the biggest scar you can barely see mine. I was really good with caring for my skin. I used scarffade gel then bio oil, but I have really dry skin and moisturize daily anyway.

Project Runway, Fashion, and Plus Sizes
BLERDgirl replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in The Lounge
I actually purchased from Ashley back in 2013. She makes decent stuff and has had an online business for several years. I watch PR on Friday mornings On Demand. I'm happy to see Ashley make it but my issues with sizing in the Fashion world could are larger than these forums would allow. I've always been a fashion gal and while I'm excited to see plus sized fashion getting more exposure, PR is little more than a game show to me. I don't take them seriously. -
Big steps, good for you!

Not tolerating whey protein...
BLERDgirl replied to Mogwaicat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are several vegan options such as soy isolates, hemp or pea proteins. It's still going to be trial and error as to which ones you like, but there are plenty of alternative out there. -
Tentative scheduling?
BLERDgirl replied to jembell01's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tenttive scheduling means pending insurance approval. If you have an urgent reason for having surgery before the end of the year whether due to having met the deductible or losing/changing insurance then you should make them aware of this urgency. Many doctor's offices will work with you as long as they know. -
Why do I need a chest X-ray and blood work a week before surgery?
BLERDgirl replied to Joymarie333's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most insurance companies work with Qwest diagnostics. You shouldn't have to pay anything up front. I had my chest xray done at the hospital my insurance is capacitated to for things like xrays and scans and I had my bloodwork done at the hospital I was having surgery at. -
Just got sleeve 3 weeks ago

Hang in there. It gets easier and eventually you'll be able to take normal swallows. -
I've had brown rice a few times and black rice once. I had brown rice maybe 6 mths post op and a few times since but never much more than 2 tbsps. Other than the glutenous white rice in sushi white rice never held much lure for me. I'm also vigilant enough about avoiding empty carbs that I have shied away from processed carbs like white rice.
