    Regretting it already..(day 1)

I love Bright Side of Life!☀️
  2. I mostly buy Kind or Larabars. All the Kind and some of the Larabars are vegan. Overall I'm not a big protein bar gal
  3. I'm looking for minimal ingredients. I like pea protein but hemp is a little higher in protein. No gmo's is a plus. Orgain RTD is available in Walgreens, Rite Aid, etc... I've seen the Orgain powder in GNC & Vitamin Shoppe. Whole Foods has a wide variety of vegan powders ( Vega, Raw, Biochem). I've seen hemp hearts sold in Target. I'm interested in trying Bobs Red Mill powders but as far as I can tell only sold on their website

    Purée purée purée

I did yogurt with a small amount of soft fruit like peaches, cottage cheese, hummus, ricotta made up like the filling for stuffed shells. I never did mashed potatoes but I did grits with a little protein powder added. I tried to make sure everything I had contained some protein.

    Purée purée purée

As long as you need. The point is to eat slow in the beginning so you do not upset your tummy. Try counting to 20 & see if that works.
  6. @@ssflbelle - you may not have pain. I had pain & a cough for two weeks after bring intubated when I was placed in a medical coma and no issues at all after my sleeve surgery.

    Tiereeeeeed. Zzzzzzzzz

This is what made me double up. Once I started adding plain greek yogurt to my shakes my protein intake went up. ½cup is 13gms of protein. It makes life easier.
  8. Slider foods are typically over processed foods with little to no nutritional benefit that can be easily consumed. Noodles are my slider food. I can eat veg lo mein (a used to be favorite food) and not feel much restriction so I avoid it like the plague.
  9. Let me reiterate. They have seen everything. If you make them aware of the issue it will make things easier for everyone all around.

    Regretting it already..(day 1)

Sorry you feel so bad, but it's very important you drink. Getting dehydrated will delay your healing and prolong your pain. Here's hoping tomorrow is a bit better.

    I f*****g love protein shakes!

I'm not pumpkin spice crazy like a lot of the US, but I do like pumpkin. I've also used baked sweet potato in a Protein drink. I find I prefer raw cacao powder over flavored protein Protein Powder though.
  12. Having a blast shopping my closet. I was having a bit of a panic about not being able to shop this year. Once I realized it makes no sense to buy clothes I won't get to wear again, I went into the closet and got creative. Discovered shoes and a dress I literally haven't worn in years.

I hear ya! I had put all my hope to fit again clothes in the back of my son's closet. I've now cleared through that hopeful pile 100%. Even had to toss a few things that were painfully out of style.

    I f*****g love protein shakes!

I like playing around and creating healthy, low cal concoctions. In fact, I have some pumpkin puree so I may be making pumpkin drinks next week.

    Pre op diet

I think the issue is you are not getting good nutrition. What does your evening meal consist of? Are you drinking Water? How much? Barely eating is not a good thing.

    Fatigued and low pulse

No advice but if your bradycardia persist and you can't get in to see the doctor, I would head to the ER.
  16. Sharing this. Just read another post that this may help.

Scared with a lot to think about

I guess my next question to the surgeon would be what is his average for for pts having leaks post op and of that percentage how many were revisions. I would also ask what measures does he take to prevent leaks from occurring. Personally speaking my surgery was easy breezy, but I was a straight VSG procedure. You have a choice of developing comorbs that may prevent you from taking care of your babies, and possibly developing a leak. ETA: Here's a success story that might be helpful to you.

Taste buds haven't changed, but is that actually bad?

I haven't noticed a change in taste buds. In fact the other difference for me post sleeve is the amount for me. I do have to watch slider foods though. However the weight loss from the surgery acts as positive reinforcement for me. The rest is just common sense. Anything I know I would binge on, I don't keep in the house. It's just that simple. I also think increased food allergies works in my favor. Once I realized food is not my friend. Food can not only make me really sick, it can quite literally kill me. Knowing that made it easy to stay away from things. Soda is in my mind poison. I don't drink it, don't miss it and never crave it. Not sure if I answered your question, but that's my 2 cents.

    Daily Burn Fuel 6?

Most powders whether bought online or bought in store can be returned. The return policy may vary from vendor to vendor thought so read the fine print. FYI - I find I do better with the clear drinks than the milk based. I prefer Isopure, but others have had success with Syntrax nectars. The clears also make it easier to get in my Water since I split them with water.

    Daily Burn Fuel 6?

I expect a bit of carbs since vegan powders are plant based. Daily Burn Fuel 6 is coming in at 24 gms of Protein and 9 carbs. In comparison: Raw Protein has 17 gms of protein and 4 carbs Biochem Vegan has 20 gm of protein and 3 carbs Vega One is 20 gms of protein and 10 carbs So not horrible, but look around. There's a wide variety to choose from.
  21. I don't mean fast as in progressing through the food stages fast. I think doctors are reintroducing regular foods sooner these days. I mean fast as in eating/drinking too fast. SLOW IT DOWN. Additionally when trying new foods, add in one at a time. This way if you have a reaction, you can more readily pinpoint what makes you ill.
  22. This is correct. ^^ Making your own is allowed. You can also add any Protein you like to this. As long as it's blended smooth and not too thick you are fine.
  23. I had an allergic reaction a few years back and was intubated and put into a medically induced coma. My throat was sore when I woke up and hurt like hell for a good 2 weeks after. I also had a raspy voice and cough for a long time after. Eventually it healed and I was fine. I had no issues post-op from my sleeve surgery so I'm assuming everything went back to normal.
  24. If you cramp quickly after eating or drinking you may be eating/drinking too fast. Go super slow, take teeny baby sized bites and pause in between sips/bites. If you need to stop and count to 20 between sips/bites.

    Daily Burn Fuel 6?

Just googled. Ingredients don't look bad. It's a little high in carbs 14gms per serving. Like a lit of vegan powders there are complaints about chalkiness or grittiness. I haven't personally tried it though. They say on their website there is a 14 day return option.
