    Protein Supplements

Go to whole foods or drugs store like cvs. Get s bunch of single serve packs and try them all before buying a large container. I use orgain organic. It come both premise shakes & powders. I used prosource liquid while in the hospital and during my postoperative liquid phase
  3. It could also be the tomato based products you are ingesting. People forget that the tomato is a fruit and has a fairly decent amount of sugar in it. That sugar may also be giving you loose stools
  4. I do. I focus more on my food diary, exercising and drinking my water. It helps me focus on listening to my body and noticing non scale victories like being able to walk easier or clothes bring loser. When I do these things by the time I check in with the doctor my weight is almost always down, and I have learned to appreciate feeling better over nets on a scale.

    Water intake

My nutritionist was against straws for new sleeves. You take in too much air & it can cause uncomfortable gas pains. After 6 weeks a straw is fine

    What am I doing?

You can edit in the app. At least I can on my iPhone
  7. Talk to the doctor. In there are any bariatric seminars in your area attend and ask questions, get info, etc... Weigh the pros and cons. I too heard that lap bands are on their way out and most people get either the sleeve or bypass, yet there are plenty of people on this forum who are banded and perfectly happy.

    Is it possible?

I know it's hard but stop looking at the scale. Seriously, it's going to make you crazy. Instead focus on getting your Protein in, drinking your Water and exercising as much as you can. Your body is undergoing a major change and it will take a minute to settle in. The weight will come off, it really will.
  9. I was allowed a Peanut Butter. (I eat almond butter, but same thing). When I crushed my pills, I would then make mix them inside the almond butter and slowly eat it that way. The almond butter *almost* masked the taste of the crushed meds and made it easier to take them. I've heard of some people mixing theirs with a bit of applesauce.

    Water intake

Nope - remember you are teaching yourself & your body new & healthier habits. Drink your water.

    General whining

lol I was like that. First week, no problem. Second week, ugh! shoot me now. That first soft scrambled egg was DIVINE!. Hang in there. It will be worth it.

    Calorie Intake & Stalls

I'm a no scale gal so I have no idea if I stalled at 3 weeks or not. I know that when I went to the doctors at 2 weeks I had lost 26lbs and when I returned at 6 weeks I had lost another 6lbs. I don't think 66 gms of carbs is a bad number for a 600 - 800 calorie diet. Especially if you are drinking whole milk. You can try increasing your Water and Protein and see if that helps, but honestly it's only been 4 weeks. Put the scale away and try to stop making yourself crazy. Focus on living your program. 500 is ridiculous. Your body will eventually stop losing since it will be afraid of losing calories. food is fuel.

    Sweets

I'm mostly okay. The first few weeks I didn't crave sweets because all those Protein drink are kinda on the sweet side. That's when I started getting creative with Soup. I needed something savory. Now my sweet tooth is mostly satisfied with fruit. I had one mini Reese's Peanut Butter cup a few weeks ago and that satisfied me. I've been down this road before though. When I am eating correctly my craving for sweets decreases and I can exercise restraint. The minute I go off the correct path I end up overdoing it. Since my tummy no longer has the real estate for overdoing it, I'm hoping to stay on the right course.

    Excerise

2½ - 3 weeks out. I just had to wait for my incisions to scab and of course the drain incision took the longest. Meanwhile I walked.

    Feeling blue

or puree the veg and just leave the chicken small enough to be chewed very carefully. I hope to day is a better day for you.

    Excerise

I was told to get moving ASAP. They even encouraged us to begin an exercise program pre-op. Thankfully I was already taking Water aerobics so I continued with this. Post -op I was walking in recovery. We were encouraged to walk in the hospital and I walked once home until I was cleared to get back in the pool. I also do the treadmill on occasion, but I plan to make that part of my weekly routine as well.
  17. I'll say what everyone else is saying: Patience. It's not a magic wand so none of this occurs overnight. You've made surgical change to your body and now your mind and body have to adjust. You will learn to control the head hunger. The early days can be the most challenging. Hang in there. Try to listen to the physical indicators your new belly is giving you.
  18. I was on full liquids for 2 weeks.
  19. Stop looking at the scale. You just had surgery. While many do see an immediate, rapid loss, many do not. Let your body heal, drink your water, move/exercise as much as you can. STOP LOOKING AT THE SCALE.

    What am I doing?

I didn't have to do a pre-op diet but those first 2 weeks when I was on all liquids I HATED seeing food commercials. Food shows would have been out of the picture.

    Hurting when I swallow

Just to clarify mine is not exactly painful. I guess the best way to describe is I used to feel the muscles working as I swallow and if I swallowed to much or too fast it was uncomfortable. As long as I sipped & swallowed slowly I was fine and eventually it went away as I healed.

    My fitnesspal

It won't add up to 100%. You set it up according to your needs and lifestyle. I know from past history that I do better with low carbs and when those carbs I do take in are complex carbs like vegetable and whole grains as opposed to simple carbs like white rice, Pasta and bread. I had problems with swollen feet in the past so I watch my sodium and try to keep it under 2,000. My nutritionist has said 600 -800 calories and at least 60 grams of protein. I try to keep my carbs around 45 and under and I try and keep my sugar under 30. If you're unsure you can ask your nutritionist to clarify at your next follow up.

    Opinion about coat?

Check also if your area has a Dress for Success chapter. I worked for a welfare to work program and we often had trouble obtaining work appropriate things for plus sized gals.
  24. How many calories a day does your doctor want you eating? I'm still at 600-800 so I just ignore the alert. I log everything , exercise included.
