  1. By liquids you mean fluids? Sounds okay, but I would call the doctor about the other symptoms. It may be nothing, but better safe than sorry. Not every doctor follows the exact same protocol. OP mentioned that per her program she was on soft foods.

    Veggie Appetizer for Puréed Phase?

I ate a lot of spicy foods pre-op. I had no problems returning back to them. I was adding a splash of sriracha to my soup during the full liquids stage. I stopped using it when I had a bit of acid from around months 3 -6. No sense eating something that could potentially make things worse. Now I can use it so problem. For the most part I've had a cast Iron stomach throughout the entire process. Nothing really upsets my tummy.

    Veggie Appetizer for Puréed Phase?

It would end up looking like tomato soup. You need diced tomatoes or salsa for presentation & mouth appeal for non Bariatrc folks.

    Can't drink protein

GNC is having a sale. I was there last night. The bottle were buy 3 get one free. I also use the ibotta app (referral code blyssq)and they are offering $5 cashback when you spend $25 at GNC. Regardless of what brand you try, always save your receipts. Any unused Protein can be returned with a valid receipt.

    Veggie Appetizer for Puréed Phase?

Do a layered bean dip. Sour cream (or plain greek yogurt. It taste the same and is full of protein), pureed black beans ( you can toss some whole ones in for presentation but skip them when your eat), guacamole. Top with a layer of diced tomatoes (you skip those) and shredded cheese. Your guest can dip chips and veg into and eat, you can eat all the soft layers. If you do it in a glass dish the colors look nice too.

    Post surgery pain level?

@@Susan Lewis - As long as the surgeon is aware of this, they can work around that.

Gallbladder surgery was a piece of cake!

YAY! Glad all went well. Take it easy. It may still be the pain meds haven't fully worn off yet.
  8. @@Daisee68 has a god idea, maybe try a Protein or Vitamin Water. Sometimes the clear drink are easier to tolerate. Maybe pick up one bottle of Isopure No Carb and try it.

Almost 1yr and still my is not happy

I agree with everyone else. It appears fried foods are no longer an option for you.
  11. It's not unusual, but it's not typical. If the nausea meds you are taking aren't working after day 7, call the doctor back. You may need a different or stronger med.

    Week 4 and stuck

What was your starting weight and what's your current weight? ETA: Just reread you earlier post. So you've lost 14lbs since surgery? That's actually pretty normal.

    Apple Cider Vinegar

Not sure if lemonade has the same effect as adding lemon or apple cider vinegar to your water, especially something like Wyler's that's likely more food coloring & sweetener than actual lemon. This doesn't taste sweet at all, it's really designed as a digestive aid. Why add ACV or lemon juice to water.

@@Soon2BHealthyAggie - The Polar Loop does not count heart rate, it can be paired with a Heart rate monitor but I never bought it because I was told they don't track under water. However it does track steps and calories underwater. I was doing aquafit 4 -6 days a week as my main exercise so I needed it to count! The A360 has a built in heart rate monitor which is why I plan to upgrade.

    NOT HAPPY

Sorry to hear about this but follow your doctor's orders. Give your body the rebound and rest time it needs. Then when you are cleared to work out, ease back in slowly. It sucks but you don't what to risk further damage and injury because of impatience.

    Apple Cider Vinegar

@@jane13 - I like to keep things as natural as possible. I've read that adding things like lemon juice or ACV to your Water is good for digestion. I already had it in the house since I also use it for cooking and shampooing my hair, so I just started adding it to my water on occasion. I like the taste so it really wasn't that big of a deal to me.

    Frustrated and annoyed

That is odd. On a positive note, they must feel pretty sure that you will be approved because I can imagine them scheduling you for 2 procedures, taking up valuable OR time unless they were pretty positive of your approval.
  18. My doctor starts his patients on a 30 day course of colace from day 1 in the hospital. I had my first BM on day 5 post op. It was small and harder than normal, but it was to be expected. I did not have a pre-op liquid diet, just the usual NPO the day of surgery. My first food stage was Full Liquids, so mostly shakes, tea, broth. After my initial BM I managed to have 1 every day since. By 6 weeks out they were pretty much back to normal but only once a day. Now I go anywhere from 1 -3 times a day, but on avg twice a day. I am vegetarian so my diet is naturally high Fiber. During the Full Liquids stage I would add spinach to my Protein shakes. I was also eating Soup made from Beans pureed, strained and thinned with vegetable broth. I've never been constipated or had diarrhea.

    Exhausted on the ext level

I think it was some where between 4 - 6 weeks. Until then I would crush them and hide them in almond butter

Wait, you found a waterproof fitness band?!?! Which one? I have the UP 3 because it was originally supposed to be waterproof. It ended up being released as splash proof and slightly disappointing. If it was waterproof, it would be AMAZING! I have the polar loop and plan to upgrade to the polar A360. When I was researching I made it a point to look for water proof not water resistant.

    Can't drink protein

Dilute it down and add ice. Also check out some of the Protein drinks like Isopure Nocarb or Syntrax nectar.

    Protein smoothie

I was allowed, but I kept the fruit to minimum. So it would be either a half a mango OR a half a peach and a handful of spinach. I then added protein powder, water and ice. Just check with your nutritionist if this is allowed.

    Post surgery pain level?

I'd put mine at about a 1. It felt like I had done 1,000 sit ups the day before and my abs were sore. I was a little achy , but otherwise I felt fine.

    Exhausted on the ext level

Are you taking any vitamins or supplements? It may be time to get some followup bloodwork to see if you need to add them in. Mine started me on multivitamin 2x's a day B12, Calcium Citrate and D3. They have been adjusted according to my bloodwork

    Week 4 and stuck

    1. What was your starting weight? Lower BMI 's can sometimes lose slower. 2. Are you meeting both Protein AND Fluid goals? 3. Embrace the stall. They are normal. They will happen. Sometimes for days and yes, sometimes for months. If you really think there is a problem call your nutritionist and make sure you're eating properly. Put the scale away. It's not your friend and will make you crazy. Log your food, measure your food. Hit those goals. The weight loss will happen.
