How much is everyone eating?
BLERDgirl replied to richkatrina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It varies depending on what stage you are in. -
I wonder if it's the fat content of the Soups you are eating. During my all liquid phase I tolerated vegetable broth no problem. I would hope that your BM's normalize as you move closer to a regular diet.

Vegan/Vegetarian friendly options, more natural options, and stevia free options would win me over. I like Prosource no carb in the individual packs. I can then order multiple flavors. -
When to change clothing sizes?
BLERDgirl replied to beachgurl84's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm swapping out clothes as they get too big. I too have everything n my closet from an 18 - 30. I've had to buy new underwear because they were literally falling off. My winter dress coat is too large but I have some jackets I can fit. Both my suits for Water aerobics are too big, but I'm only buying one to replace it. I'm mostly wearing dresses and my workout gear since they seem to look the most presentable as I lose. My pants and jeans just look crazy. -
I'm kinda disappointed

Do not wait until Spring to exercise. Do something indoors, or join a gym or even take a brisk walk outside! It's an exercise class? I had no idea what it was. -

BLERDgirl replied to CowgirlJane's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
LOVED skiing. My favorite ski vacation was when we went to Chamonix. We were so high up that we actually skied into clouds as we were going down. I have got to get back to that! -
It's liquid sugar. You miss all the Fiber and nutrient. Eat your vegetables instead.

Body pump class? -
Go to the gym and ask. They may try to sell you a personal trainers package. If you can afford one at least short term, that's not a bad idea. However, if you can't the gym is still responsible to make sure you know how to use the machines properly.

Some people are just slow but steady losers. Are you keeping a food diary? Are you watching your carbs? I realize that breads and potatoes are allowed but I personally think those of use with higher BMI's need to avoid them. How many calories are you eating a day? Has the constipation issue been resolved? What's your sodium level like? Too much processed food = high sodium = Water retention. Step away from the scale. Take your measurements instead. Neck/boobs/waist/hips. Check that once a month instead of weight.

I've used vanilla and almond extracts. You just need a tiny bit.

Full liquids diet
BLERDgirl replied to gamecockfan864's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yogurt. I did lots and lots of yogurt and also kefir drinks. I bought liquid protein and added it to soups, broths and teas. I didn't do potatoes, it's a simple carb and I try to avoid those even though they are on my allowed list. I added almond butter and occasionally fruit to my protein shakes to naturally change up the flavor. Mostly I just sucked it up and dealt with it. It was only for 2 weeks. -
Trying to figure it out
BLERDgirl replied to nursmate2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Buy plain greek yogurt and add it to your Protein shake. It will give you 12 -18 more grams of protein and a few more calories. Also eat protein before and after your work outs. It pushes your body to burn fat not muscle. It doesn't have to be anything big. I actually make a 24 ounce Protein Shake and drink half before and after. Sometimes I eat an ounce of almonds or cashews post work out instead. Step away from the scale and start taking your measurements instead. As you lose it may not show on the scale, but the changes may show in other ways. I do neck, boobs, waist and hips. I only weigh once a month. I eat anywhere from 600 - 850 each day depending on my activity level. -
I knew I had no family history, my US were clear and I was active enough to make it a non issue. I liked having it as a precaution for surgery but didn't feel I needed it inside of me permanently. Especially since my circulation would only improve as I loss weight.

I had the temporary one. I had it place the day before surgery. My surgeon did it as a precaution. I don't have a history of clots, my veins were clear on US, but I have a high BMI. It was done as a short procedure and I couldn't even feel the difference. I just had it removed Monday. The surgeon went in through the PICC line and retrieved it. I had some soreness on my neck, but a few days with a heating pad has taken care of that. Since I had an uneventful surgical course and I had not history of clots it was removed at 4 months.
