    What do you miss?

So far nothing. I haven't tried alcohol or strangely enough ice cream, but I also haven't had a desire for them yet.

    Still having pain

You were a band to sleeve revision? I would call the doctor. No matter what the procedure you should not still be having pain 3 weeks out.

    Post op pain

Yes you are given meds as needed.

    Help w/fitness pal

I didn't do a manual setting. I just put in my basic info and activity level. It won't make a difference. Anything under 1000 calories is still going to give you a warning when you close your diary for the day because there is no setting for bariatric diets. I'm on and accept friends as long as they share their diaries. My username is Milaxx if you want to add me.
  5. @@lapier Talk to your doctor. You should be at least walking for a minimum of 30 minutes a day from day 1. More strenuous exercise is at your doctor's discretion. I resumed Water aerobics at week 3 once my incisions scabbed. I currently work out 4 -5 days a week. Most of that is water aerobics, but I also walk, use the treadmill, and use light hand weights. At 2 months my calorie goal was 600 - 800. Anything over 1,000 calories is maintenance level and far too many calories for those of us still losing. Not meeting your Protein and Fluid goals will impede your weight loss as well. Some people are told to keep their carbs at around 40/50 if they are eating 800 calories. I track my food at myfitnesspal. I also watch to make sure my sodium is not too high and that most of my sugar is from natural sources.
  6. I use my food diary to keep myself accountable. I'm sure most people don't review their food diary like I do, but I started my food diary because I wanted to be healthier, not just skinnier. I can look at my calories count and my macro-nutrients and know whether or not the scale will move. Initially it took time, but now it's a few seconds typically once in the morning and once at night. I learned how to balance my sodium, sugars and carbs and how it would effect my body. I was also able to identify food allergies and intolerances that were showing up on allergy testing. Once I figured out how to balance these things I felt better, had fewer allergy attacks and tons more energy. Like @@Kindle said NSV's mean so much more than the numbers on the scale for me.

    Cooking for one

@ - I must have overlooked it. I follow them on twitter/facebook/IG. Probably just a brain fart on my part. I was just at the Callowhill store on Monday. Pennsy it part of the UPenn family where I had my surgery done. I did see the free yogurt at ACME but it's for yoplait and I don't care for that brand.

    Cooking for one

Yes we have several in the area. I'm a city gal and the pick your own has no appeal to me at all. I've made jellies/jam although it's probably more a compote. I just cooked fruit with raw honey and reduced it until it was thick. We also have quite a few food coops. They are just hard to manage for a single person. I did one a few years back and had to split the single person's portion with a friend. Even then I was constantly giving stuff away.

    Cooking for one

I use multiple things to save money. Some of this may or may not work for you depending on where you live. I am in a big city so I have multiple venues to shop. Farmer's market or produce stores for fresh produce. I can buy a bag of oranges for $1 and they used to sell eggs 3/$4.Last time I was there they were 2/$3.75. Clip coupons. I don't mean extreme couponing, but I pick up the weekly circulars for coupons. I also check the manufacturer's website for products I buy regularly and sign up for coupon sites like Saving Start & Coupon.com Phone Apps. I use Ibotta, Checkout 51, Berrycart, Shopminum and Target Cartwheel . With Ibotta, Checkout 51, Berrycart, Shopminum you get cashback on purchases, Target Cartwheel gives you additional savings back on purchases at Target. Buy in season and freeze. In the summer blueberries can be a low as $1 a pint. All summer long I buy double. One to eat and one to freeze. I never have to buy frozen frui over the winter because I have a freezer stash.

    Advocare Spark?

Googling the ingredients list it appears to be an energy drink. Since most of us are already on a Vitamin and supplement regimen I would suggest taking this into the nutritionist and discussing it with them to make sure it won't interfere. Caffeine is already debatable because of the potential to aggravate the stomach and increase the change of acid production. However, some sleevers have been able to drink it.

    A New Day

Foaming, frothing, the slimes. You ate a little faster than your tummy could handle. It can't contain the saliva and is pushing it back up. I've heard of it and been rel careful to avoid it. It sounds unpleasant. Maybe some tums will help?

Really? The only thing I've seen like that on Philly are the chicken wings.

    Surgery was a breeze but......

I have to be the only person to have a completely uncomplicated and pain free surgical course and then get sick. Seriously my sleeve surgery was a dream. I had a pleasant and attentive surgical staff. I had a private room in the hospital. I literally had no pain, no nausea, no constipation, no dizziness, NOTHING. I've tolerated pretty much every food or drink I've tried and have been losing weight steadily. I was up to 4 -5 days exercise at the gym and this week? I get the fricking flu! My ear are killing me! That awful pulling sensation you get because your ears are back up? My throat is scratchy and I have no energy. I am sleeping more now that I did post op! I'm trying to suck it up because I'm not sure how my system would handle antibiotics. Oh the irony!

Yeah, 100 pounds down but 100 to go.

Great job! You're an inspiration for those of us who have a long way to go!

    Work Out

Walking from day 1. Light hand weights at home week 2. Back to the gym week 3 and only because I take Water aerobics and needed to wait for my incisions to heal. Check with your doctor but if you have no complications 2 weeks give or take is about right.
  18. Congrats on your Surgerversary!

    Surgery was a breeze but......

@@JustWatchMe I take Zyrtec-D daily for my sinusitis. I don't have high blood pressure. I take flonase if my nasal congestion gets too bad. The ears I usually just have to wait out. Today has been a better day so the pressure is not as bad.

    How much Protein?

Iceburg lettuce has virtually no nutritional value, however dark, leafy greens such romaine, spinach, baby greens, etc... do indeed have nutritional value. They provide fiber, folate, beta carotine, calcium and a host of other nutrients, including a small amount of protein.
  21. BLERDgirl

    How much Protein?

That's how ketosis works. That's why it's important to get both your protein AND fluids in. Exceptions to this would be people who do lots of weigh lifting. They can tolerate higher levels of protein because they burn it off through exercise. Most programs just generalize and round up to 60gms.
  22. BLERDgirl

    Probiotics?

I eat a lot of greek yogurt so I never bothered with probiotics. Then again I guess the amount of yogurt I eat is why I am never constipated.
  23. I was sleeved 09/18/14. This week I caught a very mild case of the flu or whatever bug is going around. Felt like total crap for 2 - 3 days but I feel much better today and tomorrow I plan to get back in the gym. However, it appears to have put my chronic uterica into remission. I used to break out at least once a week. I have not had an allergy attack in the 4 months that I have been sleeved. I still have to use ZyrtecD for my sinuses, but overall my health has greatly improved.
  24. Stay busy! It will keep your mind off food and the temptation to cheat. Just remember you've come this far and you want to be in the optimal condition for surgery. See ya on the loser's bench.
