    I can't go....

@@Ilovecats1985 - Then I would talk to the doctor about what they recommend before trying OTC solutions or even the recommendations here.

    I am PISSED!

If you can't tolerate any shakes, powders or clear Protein drinks then you need to start looking at protein rich foods. Yogurt, thinned with milk if need be, kefir, Beans pureed/strained then thinned with broth, chicken breast poached, pureed then thinned with broth. Spinach added to the beans or chicken (also pureed) will add some protein, Iron and Fiber. If it gets worse, you may need to have your doctor prescribe something for nausea.
  3. I'm trying to figure out why you feel like you failed with what appears to be a clerical error. The only misstep I see here is the stress eating that lead to gaining 10 lbs. Since your surgery is likely not going to happen until after the New Year, perhaps brain storm on what other things you can do instead of eat when stressed. It can be as simple as drink a glass of Water, to take a 10 minute walk, putting a rubber band on your wrist and snapping it when you feel the urge to stress eat. Some learn to knit/crochet, some do puzzles. Just get creative and brainstorm. It will keep your mind off the wait and help your build new coping strategies.

    Fruit?

Rinse, and dry on paper towels then freeze. Fruit is great to add to smoothies. Just separate them into bariatric serving size portions. Everything I listed will freeze well except apples and watermelon. I was adding fruit to my Protein drinks from week 1. I also like have a small amount of fruit with plain greek yogurt as a snack. If I add a scoop of vanilla Protein powder I'll have it for Breakfast.

    Fruit?

Nope it's for fruit. Natural sugar is still sugar. If you are eating Protein then veg, then fruit, you won't have much room for fruit. I found that a small portion was more than enough. Oranges and berries were my favs. According to MFP: ½ a med. apple is 9gms ½ a banana is 10gms ½ a navel orange is 6gms ¼ cup of watermelon is 2gms ¼ cup of strawberries is 2gms ½ a peach is 6gms. So you see there is more than enough room to have fruit in limited amounts.
  6. I bought 2 weeks worth of protein drinks/shakes. General rule is no driving while under pain meds., then only according to how you are feeling. Consult your surgeon for what he/she recommends.
  7. Healing & to help you lose weight. Think of it like an infant, you start them on liquids: formula, breastmilk, etc..., you then progress to soft foods and then to solids as their new, tiny tummies adjust. Congrats on your bouncing baby tummy! How long and the method may vary surgeon to surgeon. I was 2 weeks All Liquids. No I did not cheat.
  8. If it's interfering with your way of life, you may want to seek counseling.

    POOP!

@@Indieflickers - I don't know then, perhaps increase the water intake to balance out the fiber? I'm sleeved but I've had zero bowel issues. I'm regular as clockwork, avg. 2 a day.
  10. it only triggers an warning if you close out your daily diary with under 1,000 calories a day(for females, for males it's a little higher).
  11. I use the app and until I was eating 1,000 calories a day I just ignored the warning. It's not set up for bariatric pts so eating 400, 600 and 800 calories a day isn't going to be recognized. However I was more concerned with being able to log my calories, macro-nutrients and exercise in one easy to use app/site.

    POOP!

The normal range for BM varies from 1 - 3 times a day to every 3 days so you are withing range.

    POOP!

A quick google for sticky poops says that one of the causes can be a high protein diet. If your bloodwork is fine this may be why the doctor isn't overly concerned. You can try adding some fiber to your diet and that may help things.
  14. I just made my home easily accessible. I cleaned, did laundry, washed extra comforters & my favorite comfy robe. I also made some vegetable broth and stocked up on 2 week's worth of protein shakes/drinks. I stocked up on cat food and kitty litter, then moved things around so I could tend to them without lifting or bending the wrong way.

    I can't go....

    How far out are you?
  16. Hopefully some of the revision sleevers will chime in, however I think the key will be working with your nutritionist to make sure you switch to maintenance once you hit your goal weight. Thankfully their isn't as much of a malabsorption issue with the sleeve as there is with bypass so you could prevent getting too skinny with a proper diet.
  17. I attend. It's run my bariatric program. They have several at various locations & times. They are facilitated by the program nutritionist. Occasionally have guest speakers. The last one I attended the speaker was a plastic surgeon who specializes in skin removal surgery. They also have a graduates support group. I don't go every month, but I do stop in every so often. Especially when they have guest speakers that interest me. I find it to be an invaluable source of encouragement and information.
  18. I told exactly 5 people. My sis, my mother, my bestie, the friend who recommended my surgeon to me (he did her bypass the year before) and a friend in ATL who was sleeved a month before.
  19. They allowed that? My hospital won't allow you to take a cab home from the hospital. It has to be a person you know or you have to use one of those companion services.
  20. I did. I didn't want my family sitting there twiddling their thumbs while I was in surgery. I had my besties drop me off for surgery and left instructions for the hospital to call my family once I was in recovery. I live about 30 mins from the hospital so that way they could meet me once I woke up. The hospital can be a stressful experience for many and just sitting there waiting while their imagination runs wild was not something I wanted or need to put my family through. My mom was there when I work up in recovery and my sis & bestie came to see me after work when I was in my room and settled. Just less stressful all around.
  21. @@BLERDgirl, where do you find these? And are they Bobs Red Mill or some other brand? I haven't seen anything in either health food store...everything's sweetened with stevia (yuck!). I'm trying to find a vegan protein powder that is a mixture of Proteins and that is no more "grainy" than your typical whey powder. Anybody have suggestions? Unflavored would be best but something that's very lightly sweetened would be okay. The ones I am talking about are Bob's Red Mill. You can order them off their website but I find I get cheaper shipping if I cal them. Also make sure to check the ingredients list to make sure they use monkfruit and not stevia. I haven't looked at the site in a while and I don't want you to have incorrect information As for a vegan protein powder Orgain wasn't too gritty but I think they use stevia. Biochem wasn't bad either. However I find that vegan powders in general are slightly more grainy than whey or soy isolates. One of the things I found that helped was using a nutra bullet type of blender.

    Very discourged

I do the same as @InnerSurferGirl - no artificial diet foods. I eat zero fat yogurt, but that's made with skim milk. Otherwsie it's real butter on the rare occasions that I have it. I try to stick with healthy fats, but I don't avoid them.

    Clear Liquid Diet

thats the thing there closed on weekends so i can't Then I would wait until Monday. Typically a clear liquid is anything you can see through but no darker than apple juice. Some programs allow a little more wiggle room on the pre-op diets but you need to clarify with your program. If they didn't give you anything in writing and you aren't sure, I would skip it.

    Eating if not hungry?

That's why our mind set toward food has to shift from just primarily pleasure to primarily fuel. It's not an easy thing to do! Complete relearning process. Most of us not only ate when we were hungry, we ate when we were happy, we ate when we were sad, we ate when we were bored. Now we're being asked to eat to live and fuel our bodies. That may mean in these early days, creating a schedule and sticking to it. No more no less.

    Clear Liquid Diet

I would say no, they aren't clear because they have fruit in them. You really should call your NUT and ask.
