Not necessarily. It depends on how the surgery is done.

@@KatrinaGrace - I would buy a plus sized top from like swimsuitforall, Forever 21 or even ASOS and then buy a regular sized bottom.

Please help I need healing fast
BLERDgirl replied to Mrz Jess B.'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@Mrz Jess B. If you ave trouble swallowing the pills, ask for the capsules. You can open them and mix them in some apple sauce or yogurt to take. Tums may not be as effective. -
Pennsylvania sleevers?
BLERDgirl replied to thisisforme2013's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@lovingme1 - Dr. Williams is the bomb.com! I had the easiest time of it with him. Walked into the OR, surgery went smoothly, no pain, gas, nausea or vomiting. Staff at UPenn was very nice and courteous. I also like that he starts you on colace and omeprazole in the hospital. As long as you take you meds and drink your Water, you should have issues with constipation or acid. If you haven't already, join a gym or at least start walking 30+ minutes a day. It will make recovery that much easier. -
I actually didn't read the article, but I had done a lot of research and reading regarding health prior to my WLS. My journey to health started probably 3 - 4 years prior to deciding to have surgery. I wanted to eat real food as much as possible so I had read up on these things. I think it depends on what method was used for your surgery. I had laporascopic surgery. I didn't have stitches or staples. I came home with steri-strips that fell off a few days later. I also had an insanely easy surgical process. I was walking in recovery and didn't use pains meds at all. I didn't have any issues with gas, nausea or vomiting.

I have always been a makeup gal. I love buying and wearing makeup. Drug store brands have considerably stepped up their game in the last fews years. Better coverage and pigmentation. If you are unsure Sephora does offer classes in application. I would take youtube with a grain of salt because some tubers are not professionals and make recommendations that are not good. DO NOT use products that are not meant for your face to save money. Even if the ingredients are the. same the formulation and manufacturing process may be different. Examples: Do not use monistat chafing cream as a face primer. Even an inexpensive one like E.L.F. is more appropriate. Do not use red lip stick as an under eye concealer. Many brands like MAC and MAKEUPFOREVER have orange concealers that are formulated for the eye area. Some of the red dyes in lipsticks are not eye safe. My favorite professional youtubers are Eve Pearl, Wayne Goss and Kevin James Bennet.

How long after surgery was it before you noticed a change in your tastes for food?
BLERDgirl replied to Okiebon's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@Okiebon - My taste hasn't changed. I pretty much eat everything I did before just in smaller portions. -
You really need to contact your nutritionist and clarify. Everyone here has a different protocol. Also keep in mind that liquids won't really fill you. They slide right through your sleeve. However if you are supposed to be on liquids, you really shouldn't be eating cheese. Lastly you may need a PPI like omeprazole. What you are feeling as hunger may in fact be acid. It's hard to tell the difference early on.

What vitamins do you take?
BLERDgirl replied to ladycook9713's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just regular vitamins. My multi is by KIND, by calcium, B12, D3 are by Nature's Bounty. I don't have trouble swallowing pills so I didn't need chewable. -
It is not uncommon to not feel full on liquids. For some that full feeling doesn't happen until you get to soft foods. In the meantime to avoid over eating try and keep your portions sizes to between ¼ and ½ cup. Seek out other Protein sources, greek yogurt, hummus, etc... You have to work up to that much Fluid, just make it your goal to drink a bit more than you did the day before. Every program is different. Many have had 1 mth stages. I had no pre-op diet and then 2 weeks full liquids, 2 weeks pureed, then 2 weeks soft foods

What is a typical eating day like for you? Also there is a big myth about low carbs. I think it's more important what type of carbs you eat and when more than just low carb across the board. My carbs are actually fairly high most days and I have consistently been losing. I get anywhere from 56 -60 carbs a day and typically eat between 700 - 900 calories a days. However my Protein is always between 70 - 90 and I get in all my fluids, most of which is Water. Take heart, some people truly are slow, but steady losers. This really varies greatly from program to program. I was cleared to work out at 2 weeks and resumed water aerobics at 3 weeks once my incisions scabbed over. Exercise plays a big part in my weight loss.

Finally Made my decision.
BLERDgirl replied to Charrua87's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was a few pounds lighter than you and twice your age when I got sleeved. Easiest thing I have ever done! I had zero pain, not even gas issues. Go, get the information. Know that you can do this. Like every surgery there is the chance of complications, but for most of us this was relatively easy. -
Yes I think Alot of it is hormonal it's just so frustrating! I had potato and mince tonight and it was amazing but I ended Up eating too much cause I can't work out when I am full and then I got bad pains and cramps and thought I was going to vomit My advice would be to start with ¼ cup. Eat it slow. Wait a good 20 -30 minutes after eating before getting any more. You will eventually get to know your body's cues for fullness, but since you are early staging and still healing it may not have kicked in yet. You also need to allow time for the belly & brain to communicate that you are full. Yes it's going to look like a crazy small amount of food, but it will be enough. With time you may be able to eat more or you may be one of those who needs to eat multiple tiny meals.

Whst would you do in my situation?

I agree with the others. Wait & see what your date is. If you are like me, you'll be up and around in a matter of days. -
Definitely try tankinis. Separates will work better. Don't be afraid to buy a bottom from one place and a top from another. I know a few gals have gotten cute tops from Forever 21 and then bought a solid colored bottom from Lane Bryant.

I agree speak with you nutritionist for clarification. At the pureed stage 1 egg with ½ tsp of greek yogurt and a sprinkling of shredded cheese would have me stuffed. Sometime I couldn't finish it all. I was allowed avocado. Most of my portions were between ¼ & a ½ cup depending on the food. I pretty much ate 3 meals a day. Drank Water in between and occasionally had an afternoon snack. Keep in mind every program is different. Some recommned 5 small meals, others 3 meals and 2 Snacks, others strictly 3 meals a day.

With the exception of Lane Bryant, the sites I listed carry all sizes, straight as well as plus sizes. That's the orange one with blue flowers? Yeah I like that too. I don't plan to buy until I'm closer to goal unless I go on a holiday. I spent enough with the suits I buy for aquafit.

preop diet... constipation?

@@x0CheekzVSG - If you are that backed up, call your doctor. They can prescribe a bowel prep for you. I had one before my hysterectomy. I forget what it was called, but it was prescripton only. I drank it and it completely cleaned me out. ETA: It was called GoLYTELY. It was no joke! You will have to cancel all plans once you take it. -

I tried a protein shake for the first time with skim milk - allergic reaction

If you go for soy, look for soy isolates, not concentrates. Isolates are better since the protein concentration tends to be higher. -

I tried a protein shake for the first time with skim milk - allergic reaction
BLERDgirl replied to akreese02's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What types or Protein drinks have you tried? I've only had the Isopure unflavored. It's 100% whey isolate and nothing esle. If it's a flavored kind, it could be anything from the flavorings to the type of sweetener in it. It could also be a reaction to the combinations of skim milk plus the Protein powder. Changing protein powders could help, but you would need to figure out what ingredients you reacted to. Other sources are protein would be greek yogurt, kefir, hummus, cheeses, eggs, dark green veg. If you are still on full or all liquids you would could puree and thin some chicken until it was broth like consistancy. If Isopure is the only protein powder you have tried, try a few others. Try mixing with Water instead of milk. Try some RTD brands instead. Try protein waters, or liquid Protein. Just make note of the ingredients so you can monitor weter it's a true allergic reaction or just something that didn't agree with you. -
