  1. Single and looking... but following me 3 city blocks in your car is scary Call 911 on your cell, drive to the nearest police station if you know it. Make a report even if they just humor you. Make sure you get the report number in case this happens again.
  2. Yep, a quick "thank you" and a "chile please!" look is all it takes.
  3. I did this with greek yogurt. It's a terrific protein boost and taste like pudding.

    6Months Post-op, check in!

I get well over my Protein and Fluid goals. My diet is fine and my weight loss is as well. So far I have never had a stall *knocks on wood* As of 3/18 I was down 75lbs with no pre-op diet. It's likely more now but I only weigh once a month.

    6Months Post-op, check in!

I'm doing well. I hit six months on 3/18. I'm due to get weighed in the next few weeks to update my weight, but overall I feel great. Past few days I haven't felt like eating so I'm doing 4 small meals instead. I'm working out 5 - 6 days a week.

    Being naked

Just believe in yourself. Don't let this photoshop society tell you you aren't sexy no matter what your size. If you want to work on you you could start by looking at yourself full on in the mirror while naked. Then pick one thing you like. Just one. make sure not to list the things you dislike or sorta like. When you like you, so do others. As for the skin sagging, that's really a dice game. It depends on age, genetics, how much weight, etc... You can help by eating right, drinking plenty of Water and moisturizing, but mother nature runs the show in that department.

    New here

Just stick with it. Most places aren't looking for grand losses although they do indeed like them. They are however looking for consistency. Keep your eye on the prize. it will be worth it in the end.

OMG 1 Week Post Op NSV

I had a similar experience. I came home sat on the couch and realized my feet were thin for the first time in years. It had been so long since they had not been swollen I didn't realize how small they are. Congrats on your NSV and here's to many more to come.
  9. Well done, congratulations!

    What should I pack?

I didn't bring chapstick but my nurse got me some petroleum jelly and ice chips. I packed really light and didn't miss anything I didn't bring.I brought my iPad, iPhone, charger, large underwear and a toothbrush. I didn't live far enough away to need a pillow for the ride home.
  11. It could be acid masquerading as hunger pains. Best thing to do is to call your nutritionist or surgeon. They might recommends a PPI or suggestion several small meals throughout the day instead of 3 big(ger) meals. Hopefully you have contacted your program about the heart burn. Your surgeon may prescribe a PPI for you to treat that. For most of us it does indeed get better. I used a PPI from day 1, but had some minor issues with acid around 3 mnths. The prescription was increased to 40 mg which took care of things for me. Around 5 mths I noticed I no longer needed a PPI at all. I'm 6 ½ mths and doing well now.

    Holy Vitamins, Batman!

I received a sample back. The chewy/caramel or starburst consistency ones weren't bad. The chalky ones? Yeah, they were nasty. I went back to swallowing after 6 weeks.

    Anyone else feel WEAKER?

Have you had your levels checked recently? I can't say I am stronger, but I'm most definitely not weaker. I got tired easily the first week or so post-op, but now I'm pretty much back to normal. In fact I may get taken off B12 at my next blood test. My levels were really high so I only have to take the sublingual twice a month now. If they remains high it will be taken off my list of supplements.

    Salad

I LOVE salad. OMG I missed it so much. I was adding spinach to my smoothies on the full liquids stage. After 6 weeks I started adding it back into my diet. I now have small salads fairly regularly. I don't use dressing though. I have always been a olive oil and vinegar gal. I eat them with no problems.
  15. Mine was 2 weeks full liquids, 2 weeks purees, 2 weeks soft foods then everything as tolerated.

    Not losing anything? ?

@@Hertsukfem31 Sounds like a plan. I was speaking with another poster who's program allows slider foods early on as well. You said you have support group coming up right? Check in with them, maybe they'll have some recommendations for you.

    Needing support

Aww what's got you frustrated? Hang in there soon these early days will be a distance, foggy memory. Around here there are plenty of insomniacs and night owls to respond to a post.
  18. As long as you aren't repeatedly throwing up you should be fine. Just be extra gentle with your tummy until it stops hurting. Sometimes reintroducing foods back in takes a while. It may not like it now, but a month from now be okay with it.

Are you following a Paleo Diet?

My carbs tend to run in the 50's sometimes 60's. From what I've read most people here tend to try and stay within the 20 - 40 range or their weight loss slows down. I'm not trying to say they are superior to whole grains but my carbs are pretty much all from plant based sources and not breads or processed food like pastas and white rice. So I get the Fiber and nutrients from those plant based sources, which means less pills I have to take by mouth to make up for it and no constipation because my body can break them down easier than processed foods. Since my body is hyper sensitive, the more natural I can keep things, the better chance I have of not triggering an allergic reaction.
  20. I tried the bio oil because I really didn't want to have to kick out for another tube of scar fade gel. It did nothing for my keloids but whether it's the weight I'm losing or a combo of the oil and the weight loss but I noticed the stretch marks on my tummy are fading.

    Too much food?

Thanks for the update. I'm the nosy person who finds it interesting to hear what's allowed on different programs. My doc tends to be more conservative and discourages slider foods. Please check back in when you get to solids. I'd love to hear how you get on then.
  22. I think it would go the same way most medical procedure goes. Initially there may be a slight uptick, but then eventually it will peter down to a reasonable level.
  23. @@Stevehud - My ortho basically said the same thing. He said the minute you see a rash or anything else. start documenting. Take pictures, if you have to get meds/ointments to treat rashes, call the doctor first so there's a doctor's not on it. create a paper trail so you build a case. I honestly hope I don't need to, but I like having the option.

    Hundred pound weight loss

It my surgery at UPenn as well. I'm thinking of stopping into to a support group this month. I like to check in every so often. Any UPenn folks going anytime soon and want to meet up, let me know, Saturdays are the easiest, but I can also make the one at Penn Tower.
