Is it nausea? The sweetness of the shakes? The texture of the purees? Are you eating too fast? How many weeks post op are you? As for constipation, it is fairly common. In addition to colace, miralx, prune juice, etc.... It really helps to get in ALL your Water. How are you on getting in your fluids? Yes good communication with your nutritionist is key. Always check with them before advancing prematurely.

"You'd be much prettier if you lost weight"
BLERDgirl replied to tiffanymarie6997's topic in Rants & Raves
See I think this is BS and everyone who has experienced it *should* be offended. The fact that you are a larger person has NOTHING to do with your intelligence. Yes I realize it happens but we don't accept prejudice because of the color of someone's skin, or their sexual orientation, why on earth should we accept it because of our weight? -
2 Days Post Open Severe Nausea
BLERDgirl replied to ssourgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No @@BLERDgirl, he is just the hospital internist who is on her case along with the Urologist and Bariatric Surgeon. He is not associated at all with the Bariatric Team. Oh then double screw him! Just an extra hand in the pot. -

I'm confused was this doctor even part of the bariatric team? -
Any tips on how to lose 5 lbs... and quick?
BLERDgirl replied to likelike's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So do you need to poo or you just want to lose the 5lbs you gained for your wedding? If it's poo, then just take a laxative, smooth move tea, ducolax, prunes, etc.... Eat really low cal, maybe 2 protein shakes and a light salad w/ protein for dinner. Otherwise, just wait and let it come off with the surgery. -
You should call your doctor to check before exercising, especially if you are having pain. I was a regular sleeve, but had a really easy surgical and post-op experience. I was walking from day 1, exercising week 2 and back to full on Water aerobics by week 3. Most importantly listen to your body. When you need to slow down, slow down. If you need to rest, do so.

BLERDgirl replied to ssourgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@ssourgirl - Good for you! I've suspected for a while a change in doctors was due, but to completely ignore the underlying condition and expect her to go about like a routine bariatric patient is unreasonable. Hopefully she can pass this stone soon so she can get on with the business of healing. -
Reversal for gastric sleeve?
BLERDgirl replied to Gladys62's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@Gladys62 - Just popping in to say I am happy to hear you have found some resolution to your issues. Like every field there are good eggs and bad eggs. Unfortunately it sounds like you got one of the bad eggs. On a positive note, you are getting nearly 50 gms of protein! That is terrific! I wish you well and continued success. -
Part of what you learn with the sleeve is to make your meals count. It may have just been a mental thing today. However part of hat you learn is how to make meals count. You'll have limited space so you finds filling foods that aren't high in calories. Don't worry unnecessarily, today may just have been an off day.

I'm assuming you meant breakfast to lunch. Why did you have trouble?

Can't drink protein shakes! Any other options?
BLERDgirl replied to aprilsleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Please try not to be so down on yourself. It hasn't been a week yet. Once you get over this hurdle hopefully things will look up. I am 7mths out and I eat out quite frequently. The only thing that has changed is the amount that I eat. Hang in there! It gets easier. -
16 weeks? Unless your doctor has ordered you not to exercise, I'd say go for it. I was exercising by week 2 and back to water aerobics by week 3. I've done a little of everything since.

Pre-op yes, but post-op no, at least not until you are close to goal. Some people have an occasion soda anyway, but personally I're recommend cutting out soda altogether if you can stand it.

@@bayougirlmrsc - You just won my heart quoting Designing Women. I loved that show. I think I have a pretty decent ego (hopefully not too much, lol). I always felt pretty, but I do love when I do a nice hair style with my hair or my makeup comes out exceptionally pretty. I am one of those people that takes selfies. I've noticed when I post them now people comment more on the now noticeably weight loss much more than whether my shade of lipstick was flattering. Another thing: I'm getting some work done on my house so I have to clean out the spare room. I have bins of stuff that I haven;;t looked at in years. I've been going through them. I have clothes in every size from a 32 - 16! A lot of them are designer clothes so I guess I couldn't bear to part with them. I'm having a really good time fitting into those old clothes again. It's also feels *really* nice to get rid of the bigger clothes.

Can't drink protein shakes! Any other options?
BLERDgirl replied to aprilsleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@aprilsleeve - That sounds like drinking too fast. Sip. Super tiny sips, super slow. This is fairly normal for just 4 days out. Was there a medical reason why you were sleeved with a BMI of 29? -
@@Pac-woman - It's nice to give positive feedback, but honestly is better. It's also absolutely okay if other posters disagree with something you say. Please don't take it personally. Back to the topic, While I do indeed know of at least 3 people who were in the 200 -300 range who lost weight and did not have saggy skin, the reality is it's a crap shoot. We all do the best we can to avoid it, but none of us can give guarantees.

I was always a shopaholic and I always bought sexy bras. They cost a pretty penny at a 46 DDD! Now I am addicted to cute workout clothes and I just bought a new helmet and matching backpack for my bike.

@@CowgirlJane No, that's a cream foundation kit. That poduct may be old. I had one 4 years ago. I'm not sure they even sell them anymore. It has foundation and 2 colors for blending & concealing. Under the bottom is a container of set powder as well. This is what I use. This is the custom color drops I think you might like, although you might like to use a teeny bit of concealer cream across the areas that tend to go red.

Can't drink protein shakes! Any other options?
BLERDgirl replied to aprilsleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Another option is to try the unflavor Protein powder. I use Isopure naked and add it to my Soup with no change in flavor. I buy it at my local Vitamin Shoppe, but GNC sells it as well. You just have to dissolve the powder before adding it and don't add it while the soup is over heat because it will clump. -
HA! I use brown gal because I have such a rainbow of friends that saying that it was just easier. I am the allergy queen. I discovered Coverfx while search for something that offered full coverage t cover up facial scars from a nasty bout of facial shingles. I looked at Dermablend, but wasn't pleased with the colors or how the product manipulated. I then discover Coverfx and fell in love. It has a nice color range and is really easy to apply. The cream compact provides full coverage without looking heavy and overly made up. Even better my skin LOVES it and it covers my scars. Stop by Sephora if you can and try it out. BTW I'm 51 years young.

2 Tablespoons of Food. Really?
BLERDgirl replied to Slimsoon1988's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When you get that stuck feeling from eating too fast, drinking won't help. You simply no longer have the real estate to accommodate that much volume. You have to slow down. You might benefit from downloading the Eat Slower app. but waiting at least a full minute between bites and/or using a bay spoon may also help. -
