A lbl as explained to me is a full circumfirencial tuck kind of. It gets rid of the extra skin in the lower tummy area and pulls the torso skin down and tightens the muscles as well. It gets rid of of the lovehandles as well as lifting up the butt and thighs from sagging and drooping. The scar goes along the same line as a tummy tuck but continues around up and over your butt meeting at the spine.

25f from SJ getting ready for surgery & super nervous!
Missjaqui replied to cherrypop89's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When they cut me open for surgery they discovered a hiatal hernia on me as well and repaired it really quick, but funny because they and I never i knew I had one prior to surgery. I had no symptoms of it, and was completely unaware. After surgery it did cause a little bit more pain (although in my recovery state I described as pressure I refused to call it pain). -
Definitely feel free to add me and ask me any questions you have, i had mine done almost 3 years ago now.

I am planning on getting a lower body lift in February, doctors orders are to loose 20 pounds before hand and I have 16 more to go. I did not think about trying to have insurance cover the body lift though, I get a mild rash under the tummy flab here and there.

I was told I had PCOS as I had an insulin resistance prior to surgery. However, as I was preparing for surgery I went off of the birth control pill (which as many know is the treatment for it) and immediately regular periods. And this continued happening month after month, much to the suprise of my doctors, and in turn made them take back the diagnosis of PCOS. Having the weightloss surgery did not change my period at all, I still get it like clockwork every month around the same day, unless I am sampling out some other birthcontrol method. The surgery resolved my insulin resistance completely.

I had my sleeve done nearly 3 years ago now and skin is my issue, so I did go to a consult with a plastic surgeon. I was a little sad to hear that I will need a lower body lift instead of just a tummy tuck. The only place I have a relaly issue with the loose and sagging extra skin is my stomach. Its a major area of insecurity, so just 16 more pounds to go and I can get that surgery done in February. For loosing over 100 pounds I feel like I am fortunate in the skin department. I really am looking forward to getting it done along with a breast aug because I lost over a cup size during the weight loss.

Northern California Sleevers?
Missjaqui replied to LOVE4JEH's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my surgery done in Santa Barbara while I was in college but now I am currently in Santa Cruz. -
I definitely date, as often as I can, ever since the surgery I have a newfound confidence that I felt that I had to share with everyone. Over time that has gotten less, probably due to the extra skin I have now. However I still date, and frequently. Usually I tell guys if I feel it is relative to the conversation or something that we are doing or going to do. Sometimes it just comes up because I barely eat and its just not normal. Most people are very supportive, I have met very few naysayers. What I had the hardest time adjusting to when it came to dating was getting hit on and approached by men or friends that knew me before. It felt like a slap in the face at first, but I did a lot of thinking and I must say a lot. With some I ended up telling them to ef off due to horrible attitudes and no attraction and such. With others I had a great time, and found at times meaningful connections. I was even able to get past hangups I had about intimacy, sex and relationships.

I had the sleeve done when I was 22 myself in my last quarter of college. I honestly never regretted a thing and the people I met online were some of the most helpful I had through the process. I could only hope I can be there for others like they were there for me.

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
Missjaqui replied to bigjoe102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was 22 and could not loose weight to save my life, even on a low carb restrictive diet and going to the gym 6 days a week. This medication made me get so sick all of the time!!! Everyone said I would get used to it eventually, they lied, after over a year on it I was still sick. I knew the weight was making me sick and tired. My nutritionist recommended it and helped me with research and I never looked back. -
foreverjaqui if anyone wants to add me

Tall Women, Tell Me Your Story!
Missjaqui replied to AshleyMidwife's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am 5'11 and am currently 191. I am currently trying to get down to 175 in order to get a body lift and breast augmentation in February. I had weight loss surgery nearly 3 years ago and am absolutely so glad that I did and I recommend to people to do it as long as they are in the right head space about it. When I tell people my weight they always tell me I do not look like I am that weight, and people who knew and saw me before the weight loss said I never looked that I weighed 300. I tend to attribute that to being so tall, I have always been told that tall people carry weight better. Nearly 3 years out and the only place I have a problem with extra skin is the stomach area, but as the plastic surgeon told me because I am so tall with a long torso it makes for a better lift canvas (as he put it).
