    Slow Losers Unite!

It is def hard. I struggle daily. Some weeks are good and some are bad but the overall picture is the weight is going! I have to keep reminding myself that its what I do most of the time and not some of the time the counts. So don't be discouraged...the weight will come off. As far as snacks I try to stick with high protein snacks because I am terrible at getting the recommended 60gms in. So cheese sticks and protein bars are my snacks of choice. I hope this helps and good luck!

    Slow Losers Unite!

Good morning fellow losers! I hope everyone had a great weekend and lost some weight last week! My week went ok I only worked out once however but I was still able to lose .8 so I can't complain. This week my goal is to workout 2-3 times and do much better with low carbs this week than I did last week. Hope to hear some good news from everyone soon.
  3. I have been there also. Its so hard. I thought, incorrectly as it turns out, that my "dieting" days would be over with this surgery. The word diet just makes me mad. I have learned however over the past few weeks that for me eating the bariatic way works. I am basically on a low carb diet...protein first then veggies and then carbs. But I also agree with the other members to go see your doctor to make sure everything is ok before focusing in on the weight loss part.

    Slow Losers Unite!

That is def how you have to look at it Donna. You were living life doing what you wanted and for me eating what I wanted :Dancing_wub: and still lost weight. And even when i lost my complete mind and ate just to be eating I never gained! I know for me I have to get motivated and realize that I have to do WORK in order for the band to WORK! It's soooo hard though. But we can do it. I have to remind myself that " I may not be where I want to be but thank God I'm not where I used to be." That keeps me going.:Dancing_sorry:

    Slow Losers Unite!

I completely understand trying to hold out on the fills!!! They are about 300 for me but still. I need a fill bad also but I am trying to exhaust all my options before paying that now. I know what I haven't been doing so i'm doing that first. So far so good. I have been eating right (protein then veggies and then carbs) and I have lost about 8lbs in the past 2 weeks....so now I'm trying to add the exercise to the mix. I HATE exercise but i was able to force myself to go today so...tomorrow is day #2!

    Slow Losers Unite!

Hello all! I am a slow loser but I know the reason. I hate exercise and I haven't been eating how I am supposed to. In the past two weeks however I have been eating my protein first and then veggies and last carbs like we are supposed to and the weight has been coming off. My goal this week (starting tomorrow) is to begin exercising. Wish me luck.

I'm not sure what "CP" is but the 5 day pouch test is a meal plan that progresses from liquids to mussie to solids that helps lengthen the time between fills. There is a thread on her somewhere that outlines the plan. I have never tried it but I hear it works. Maybe something good to try .

I just wanted to, as a nurse, that there are low dose birth control methods that you can try that do not cause weight gain. My fav is the NuvaRing. Its the lowest dose of hormone possible and it only works where it needs to and doesn't effect the entire body like oral pills do. Hope this helps because as i want you to lose the weight I don't want you to get pregnant if you don't want to .

    Port-area pain when walking??

I have actually asked my doctor about it and he said that because scar tissue is less flexible than regular tissue it is more uncomfortable during workouts due to the stretching and mulipulation that is going on. He said it should lessen over time.

    How slow is too slow?

I have had my LB for 4 months now approx. 18 weeks and I have lost 19lbs total. I am happy that I am losing about 1 pound a week but when I look online other patients are losing 3 to 4 times that amount in the same time frame. I'm I normal? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Will I end up needing cosmetic surgery?

I think if there is anyway to avoid PS if would be to exercise and incorporate weight training for toning. but I have to agree that if you have alot of fat in one area there's just not enough toning in the world...lol. I also hope that i won't have to go under the knife...again!
  17. Hello, i was self pay also and i had my surgery 12/18 and in total i paid 16,000 so your price sounds about right to me.

    Any Younger Bansters Here?

I am in grad. school but maybe my experiences will mirror some of the younger bandsters. I haven't had my surgury yet but i am planning on not telling anyone. I am also having it during my winter break so that i wont have to explain missing class to my classmates. I also eat and socialize with my classmates and co-workers so i have had to make a consious effort to decreased to amount of food i eat at a given meal. I need to do this not only for the deception but also for myself mentally...i need to retrain myself that i no longer have to clean my plate that if i eat smaller bites and portions i can still be satisfied with my meals. I have to do one small lifestyle change at at time.
