@Aliyah14 May I ask why you changed your mind about using Dr. Rodriguez? I'm having surgery with him 2 weeks from today, and I'm just curious. -
My surgery is on March 20, and I've been doing the same thing. Tomorrow is my last day before I start my pre-op diet on Saturday. But, my diet is high-Protein low-carb, not liquids, so I've mainly been splurging on the sweets. Since sweets are a big weakness for me I plan to steer clear of them forever after surgery, and I think savoring these last farewells has helped me get in the right mental mindset for surgery in 2 weeks.

Did your shoe size change after weight loss surgery?
Okiebon replied to Okiebon's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
So some of you have noticed a change after less than a month? Now that would be awesome! I'd love to be able to wear cute little sandals in a half-size or more smaller come Spring. And I can't wait until I lose enough weight that my feel will let me put them in a something that isn't FLAT. (Countdown update: Surgery in just 15 days!) -

Worried about being able to take meds soon after surgery
Okiebon posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm worried whether I'll be able to swallow my prescription medicines in the day and weeks following surgery. I take a couple of very tiny pills, a couple regular sized capsules, and three large pills every morning. Will I still be able to take these (swallow them) each morning? Any advice or tips would be appreciated. -

That should read "in the days and weeks following surgery." -

Are you using Dr. Rodriguez? I'll be there on March 20th. -
this is dumb but my biggest question is...
Okiebon replied to Katie Loesch-Meyer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've worried about this, too. At least one of my prescription meds causes me to have a very dry mouth, so I'm constantly sipping something no matter where I am. I also worry about how I'm going to make it the first day or so after surgey until I can get some moisture in my mouth. Did anyone else have any problem with this? My hope is that my surgery in 2 1/2 weeks will improve my health issues enough that I can quit taking those meds forever! -
Starting out at age 45? How common?
Okiebon replied to KS123's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm 44, halfway to 45, and having surgery in 3 weeks. I'm so glad this question came up. I've been asking myself the same thing, worrying I might be too "old" for this surgery. Not anymore! -

Interesting thing about Prilosec in capsule form
Okiebon replied to catlover2565's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is really interesting, thank you for posting about it. I take the Rx 40mg, but now I'll have to give the OTC a try and see if it gives me more relief. Did you have the acid reflux before your surgery? -
Which Dr to choose in Mexico
Okiebon replied to kizzyfit's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
@@Rocky1 Do you know how many times I changed my mind between those final two surgeons? You're going to be in the best of hands! We'll have to compare experiences after your surgery in May. I still haven't wrapped my mind around it, not after all the long months of planning and research, but I'm going in 3 weeks from tomorrow. -
Did your shoe size change after weight loss surgery?
Okiebon replied to Okiebon's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Y'all have made my day! The shoes went back to the store today and I was smiling while I returned them. I seem to recall that I wore an 8 to an 8.5 in my early twenties. Now I'm a 9.5 to a 10. I love knowing there's hope that I can get back down to where I can wear smaller shoes. But best of all, I love hearing that my feet may no longer swell. I hate that!! I'm on a countdown now. Surgery is three weeks, just twenty-one days, from tomorrow. So excited! -
Which Dr to choose in Mexico
Okiebon replied to kizzyfit's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
@@freddie8_8 I agree. Dr. Corvala was one of my final two choices for my surgery. That was a difficult, difficult decision to make. From all my research, I believe he is one of the premier bariatric surgeons out there. -

Would you post the links to where these 3 deaths are discussed? In all my research over several months, I only found reference to one possible death years ago so I'd like to read about the other two you've mentioned. Thank you. -
Did your shoe size change after weight loss surgery?
Okiebon replied to Okiebon's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thank you everyone! So....the shoes are going back. I thought about trying to exchange them for a smaller size, but that's too risky. They're so cute, too. Silver lining = smaller feet!!! I hope hope hope I'm lucky enough to lose some foot fat. -
Thanks Rocky!

I'll be having a Mini Gastric Bypass in about 3 weeks. My surgeon said I can take an occasional Advil after surgery. I need to pin him down on what he means by "occasional".

That will be great, thank you! I realized today that I only have 23 more days to wait. Wow, I need to start making lists and doing some shopping.
