Anyone out there who's been sleeved who has diverticulitis? I've was diagnosis with diverticulitis several years ago, (one of many motivations for the Sleeve) and I've had my first post op flare up and it's the worst I've every had. 2 weeks of severe symptoms, now I've been hospitalized for 4 days recovering. The doctors think my post opt diet, being so focused on Protein, neglected to balance Fiber... Now they are suggesting surgery to remove it or risk similar attacks in the future. I guess I just searching for anyone with experience and curious to know the outcome of others.

Yes... Still dealing with it one week post op. My wife wanted pizza one night. I couldn't help myself, I took a bite. Chewed it till all the favor was gone then spit it out. Not my proudest moment, but I got through it.

It is hard. Not only shrinking your stomach and liver for the operation but to get you familiar with the types of meals you'll be eating in the end. I cheated my way through my pre op diet... I would munch on reduce fat wheat thins when ever I needed to get through the cravings. And went out and got every crystal light there is. Do what you must to get through it. It's all about the calories and keeping up the protein.

It's gas. Try some Gas-X. Mine were real bad the first two days. Much better today. I also notice while laying in bed that rolling from side to side (till it hurts to much) helped relieve some of the gas pressure through burps and ... backside burps.

It is different. I too loved to chug water. and it's weird to feel thirsty but full. I'm still getting used to the smaller gulps. I'm three days post op and feeling real good. a little less sore, my stomach doesn't cringe as much when I intake fluids.

I just got sleeved on Monday and I'm looking for people in Northern Michigan to talk with and draw/give support. 2nd full day home, and it's better than the 1st. ... kindof bored.

I lost a total 16lbs on my pre-opp diet. My program provided the food to maintain an 800 calorie diet. I did switch to some more flavorful foods that were still inline with the calorie and other dietary requirements. .... and I did have one weak point, which I had pizza for dinner.

good luck with the pre op diet. I was on a 800 calorie diet for two weeks. I have to admit, I cracked one night and had pizza. .... but it was only because I forgot that I had ordered a little Caesars pizza kit from a student.

know what you mean about the gas pain and shoulder pain. I too had a hernia repair. I've been standing up a lot, walking around to help with the pain. My program has be setup on the "Health Wise' food systems. Pre-packaged pre and post op food. Most of it is good. some, not so good. l Definitely gonna get more soup broth as it seems to taste and feel the best.

just had my sleeve on Monday and first full day at home. feeling good. sore stomach muscles, lots of gas. At first it was difficult to swallow liquid, my stomach would cringe and cause me to burp, causing my whole stomach and chest to hurt, but not it isn't so bad

Just had a vertical sleeve on Monday at McLaren in Petoskey. Feel pretty good. Stomach muscles are sore and fluid intake is slow going.
