I generally mind my own business when I meet a very obese person
amponder replied to CowgirlJane's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I just lost my Dad he was a Jehovah's Witness first time a post on this forum has really upset me, there are many different people of faiths on this forum, maybe we shouldn't refer to each other's beliefs negatively. -

Can I get a hug and maybe some guidance?
amponder replied to ilikecake2much's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
HUGS unfortunately us short people and I am 4'10 just can't handle a lot of weight I was 321 with a BMI of 67. Your struggles with losing but gaining it back I can really relate to. My husband was ok with surgery, but won't change his eating habits or the type of food he keeps in the house, but so far I am doing well with my choice. Good luck, and if I had any advice at all what ever you decide, do it now rather hit 300+ pounds, I was almost disabled after I hit that weight. -
@JustWatchMe @Julie norton @B-52 @KateP @@gail10 Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement, I calle my Doctor because I went a long time without eating and when I did eat I got dizzy, I didn't know if it was stress or band, he said to drink more, and DO NOT stress and worry about calorie intake right now to just get through this and take care of myself. Here is a link to my Dads obituary feel free to use the e-card (it's free) or write me a message. http://www.mckinneybrown.com/home/index.cfm/public:obituaries/view/fh_id/13791/id/3022057

Has anyone been told that the lap band is only temporary?
amponder replied to Cleo's Mom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Feel free to move this post where it's supposed to go, Yesterday my Dad suffered a massive heart attack and died he would have been 62 next month. He was not obese, in fact he was strong, ate healthy and wore a 30 pant size, I looked, I looked at the discarded pants laying by the couch, he was always tiny. Why does this matter? I don't know, I don't know anything anymore. He was so proud I was losing weight, he was going to take me shopping. I just miss my Dad, I am the only child everyone is asking me all these questions, where when how what, I'm 38 but I don't feel old enough to do this.

Good to know on the hiccups.

You gotta go back to a Dr., it is the only way you'll know if you've done something to your band. I know following the rules is hard I break them in weak moments, but it is not helping you and your friends meant well but telling you, you were too thin at a very healthy weight for you height didn't help either. Don't let people get in your head like that, my Mom keeps telling me 125 is too thin for me, I am 4'10 if anything it's slightly overweight. I hope you can dig deep and remind yourself why you did this in the 1st place, you are not too far gone, you did it once you can do it again. It's 60lbs don't wait til it's 100 start now high Protein even if you have to re visit the post op diet for a week or 2.

amponder replied to erika1976's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm sorry to hear this the gall bladder surgery is about the same pain wise as your lapband surgery so don't sweat it. -
I came on here to congratulate you, but having pregnancy symptoms with out being pregnant UGH!! at least when your pregnant you can comfort yourself tell yourself it's all worth it, Did the Dr. say what causes a man's body to react this way?

Why we hate fat people
amponder replied to gowalking's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am simply afraid right now of going the wrong direction, I am not thin yet, but I definatley notice heavier people now in a way I didn't before. -
To the Newly Banded and those thinking of having the surgery
amponder posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just wanted to put this out there, I see posts alot, of people like me that have been banded a few months frustrated cause they've not lost the weight they think they should have lost, and I wanted to make sure when you come on here not to compare yourself to others by looking at their weight loss ticker. I have been banded since Nov 21 I have lost a total of 25lbs since being banded my ticker shows over 100lb lost, I count the weight I've lost since starting my Dr. supervised diet in May of 2014. The reason I feel the need to put that out there is I don't want to mislead or frustrate anyone. Lapband can be slow at 1st but once you hit that sweet spot it should speed up. Good luck everyone. -
On the 23rd my doc brought me up to 5cc I had missed 2 visits due to ice and snow and lost 11lbs despite my treadmill breaking and no restriction, he was pleased. So finally I can feel this thing, I can still eat more than 4 ounces but there is a point where I am like WOE!! I can not eat another bite, I got the hiccups even. This morning I had 2 ounces of pepperoni cheese and a handful of cherry tomatoes. For lunch I had 2 chipotle chicken kabobs and some jalopenos, I had a hand ful of peanuts as a snack which my Dr. ok'd I was under the impression I wasn't supposed to eat peanuts, he also ok'd Peanut Butter but told me to be very careful of portion size and added sugar, And again not too long ago I had about 2ounces of cheese, the Chicken kabobs were what made me really full, I'd say they were 8oz of food total. Has anyone out there decided that they didn't want so much restriction that it limited them to 4 oz of food, I'm just happy that when I eat I'm satified for a really long time.
