  1. Fanny and Cherry Blue Next time Fanny is back in Perth how about we meet up then? Maybe some more Perth people might see this thread between now and then and might like to meet too - if not, I'm still happy to meet up with you guys, even if it's just for a coffee at my place or something. Amy

Help! how do I deal with this?

You should be proud of yourself! As for the b**ch you work with, next time she makes the nasty comments ask her for her detailed eating plan and exercise regime - if she obliges I'd state that now you know what NOT to do, since it's obviously not working for her! Amy P.S - Thought I'd better just add that this isn't a serious suggestion
  3. I'm good with Saturday, Sunday or Monday evenings. Amy

    Dr Tony Kierath - Perth

Nikki - my appointment is at 3.15pm. A Sunday lunch or something sounds great! It would be great to have some support - and give support in return. Mojo - I too only had to wait 2 weeks (after my consult) for surgery. Nikki & Mojo - both of you are also welcome to email me on the earlier posted email address (if you like). Take care Amy

    Dr Tony Kierath - Perth

Hi Katy I was at Kieraths rooms on the 18th of December, I think my appointment was at 11am - but I was there early at about 10.30am (waiting with everyone on the porch/steps). My next appointment is the 7th of Feb. I would love to keep in touch - feel free to email me at amycleverly@westnet.com.au Amy

How Many Last Meals ... ?

I didn't do the last meal thing, because for me I didn't feel it would do me any good emotionally. I had it in my head that I had started this journey (surgery booked etc.) what would be the point in having one last binge, I was sick of all that and desperately wanted to change, that was a good opportunity for me to start exercising some self control - being that I've failed that every other time I've tried to change my eating habits.
  9. I was banded on the 13th Nov '07, so far I've only lost 28lbs/13kg. I'm waiting desperately on my 2nd fill...

I have a 11cc A.M.I band - with only 1 fill so far, but not sure how much was put in. Absolutely no restriction at all... can't wait for my next fill.

do i need a new doctor?

I'm in a simular situation, as far as waiting to get an appointment. In December I was told to come back in 4 weeks for my next fill, the next available appointment was 7th of Feb '08... an extra 3 and a half weeks wait - I understand your frustration:mad:.
  17. Bunnykin - Good question. Tulip - I'd be interested in reading this book too. I haven't been able to find any books on banding as yet.
  18. I'm very insecure when it comes to my husband being around or ogling other naked women. I'm wondering if other women out there feel the same way? DH is off to a bucks party tomorrow night, they are going on a river cruise - with "entertainment". For me it isn't a trust issue - because I do trust him, but there is something inside me that makes me feel absolutely sick about this, and I don't know how to explain it. I'm not sure if it's because of a comparison thing (me vs them), will he be thinking of them when we are intimate arghhh - I don't know. Him looking at pictures doesn't really bother me, but it's a 'in the flesh' thing. He knows how much this hurts me, but is still going, and paid $100 to do so - and that hurts too. Just wanted to get that off my chest, so thanks for reading. I'd love to not let it upset me, but unfortunately it does, let me know if this is an issue, or not, for you too.

    Wrong of me?

My 1st fill was on the 18th of December, with my surgeon. He asked me to come back in 4 weeks time for another. I went to the front desk to book my next appointment, I was told by the receptionist that the next available appointment was the 7th of Feb '08 - nearly 1 month later than the surgeon asked me to come back to see him... at the time I just accepted this, knowing he is very busy. Christmas has come and gone, I have no restriction what so ever. Thankfully I haven't gained any weight - I put this down to walking, but I am extremely frustrated and disappointed. I rang the surgeons office today, just to see if I could see him earlier if there happened to be any cancellations. The rooms are closed until the 17th of Jan - so I doubt I'll get to see him before my scheduled appointment. So... I don't know if I've done the wrong thing here, but I rang my General Practitioner - to see if he does fills at all. And YES he does! I've booked into see him. I feel a bit disloyal to my surgeon, and don't know if it is wrong of me to see someone else for fills, but I'm desperate - does anyone out there have the same problems getting in for fills? Amy

    drinking alcohol

I also am not a heavy drinker, like you I only drink a couple of times a year. The first time I had a drink (post band) was on New Years Eve. I drank beer, and it went down well, no bloating etc. I also downed a few shots. I have heard stories of other people, with bands, getting drunk very quickly and not being able to drink as much as they did pre banding. This wasn't the case with me. To get rid of all the extra calories I consumed I did a lot of extra exercise for the week after drinking. Amy

    May not need a fill?

Hi Fanny Sorry to hear you're worried. I can't offer you any helpful advice, but hopefully someone will post some for you soon. Keep your chin up, and good luck with your visit to the doc, I hope all goes well. Amy

    Wrong of me?

Thanks Brandy - I'm a bit worried that my surgeon will tell me off... But I feel I paid a lot of money (self pay) for this band, and if I'm waiting and waiting for appointments I'm wasting valuable time, feels like it could take twice as long to get to goal. Anyway, thanks for listening and replying to my rant. Amy
  24. P.S I'm sure my GP will communicate with my surgeon about my visit, and how much he puts in my band, also I will be asking how much he puts in, and will inform my surgeon on anything relevent to my band, so it will be noted. Good luck for feb Steve in Kansas.
  25. Thanks Tarajane. Steve in Kansas - I posted this in the general fill section earlier today. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f13/wrong-me-48983/
