  1. Hi everyone! I need some advice. I had my RnY on 2:8/16 and I am still having head hunger. And not just a little bit either. I thought maybe.... just maybe the head hunger will go away a little afterwards. But I was wrong. it is worse than before. I still want food that I know I can't have. It is a struggle and I'm really depressed. You can only take so much of these protein shakes. And I'm only 1 week out!!!! I can barely drink half a protein shake before my stomach says nope, no more. And yet I want 6 slices of pizza!!! I'm so frustrated. What do I do? Anyone else deal with this? If so, please help!

    Two days post-op

Hey everyone had mine on 2/8/17 and I am struggling HARD with head hunger. Even though I can barely get down 2 protein shakes I want to eat 6 slices of pizza ! Anyone else feel this way?
  3. Thanks so much for the advice! What was the 2nd stool softener that you used?
  4. Hi everyone, hope all is doing well. I didn't want to post this but I am not sure what else to do. I apologize for the uncomfortable topic but I figured if anyone would know it would be someone on here. Anyways, so I had my RnY on the 8th and have been having horrible gas pains for days now. I understand that this is normal. And I haven't had a bowel movement in days. I am so constipated it's painful. I have been using miralax with my protein shakes and been trying to increase my water intake but I am just at a loss. What I want to know is, how long after surgery was it before you experienced a good bowel movement and how long did the gas pains last?
  5. I had my surgery on the 8th and I am CRAVING pizza. I won't eat it, and I'm not physically hungry but my head says that I want it. I have talked to my nutritionist and psychiatrist about it but they say it's normal because I am changing everything about the way and live and eat and my whole relationship with food. It's an addiction for me and that's what's been the hardest.

    What would you do differently?

Stock up on sugar free popsicles! I had my surgery RnY on 2/8 and I'm addicted. I'm struggling to get me protein in but I manage a premier protein shake so far. I take miralax with it because the constipation is intense. And the incision pain is rough. But I am walking and trying to do what the doctor says. It's just an adjustment.
  7. Hello everyone, I hope all is well. I have to say that I am very excited because I have my surgery date scheduled for February 8th which I know is right around the corner. But I have some concerns concerns because I have cheated a little on my preop diet. I was supposed to have started it on the 25th the Liver Shrink but I have run into some trouble with eating food that I'm not supposed to. Not every day but I did for the first three days because our family plumbing was out and there was no way to really cook the food I needed. I am back on track but I am just worried that it will be an issue with my doctor. Just wondering if you guys had any advice. I'm wondering if I should notify my nutritionist about it and let my surgeon know. I just don't know what to do. Thanks in advance. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. I got my surgery date for February 8th. I started my preop diet on Jan 10th but have been off and on. I wasn't officially required to do it until the 25th of this month. I did cheat yesterday and today pretty badly but I still have 12 days to make up for it. I also work out every day... so I dunno if that helps. I'm human as are all of us. The point of the diet is to prepare your body and mind for post surgery. We have to stop judging others and beating ourselves up when we do. Life goes on. 9. Hi everyone! I am 3 weeks prior to surgery date of February 8th and I am starting the Liver Shrink diet meal plan. Are there any good suggestions for recipes so I don't get bored with it. Also, is there anyone else who has done this diet and found a good way to satiate cravings for carbs? My nutritionist says we can have a small baked potato with meal but no butter or sour cream... but I hate plain potatoes. Any good suggestions on what I can substitute for it? Protein shakes

I am NOT a shake drinker. I truly dislike them. But I tried Premier Protein and they are THE BEST! My favorite so far is the chocolate because it tastes like chocolate milk. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  12. Hey guys I'm one month pre op surgery date 10/28 and I am having the HARDEST time getting coke out of my diet. I know this is a huge no no after surgery and I don't want to have any problems. If any of you have any advice as to how to kick this habit that would be amazing! Thanks in advance.
  13. This is something I would check with your doctor about or insurance specialist. I honestly cannot answer that question, sorry
  14. Hey! Congrats on the new job! I hope you get the position. If it were me, I would let them know up front. It's easier to take care of things on the front end than closer to the deadline. It might also make a good expression on your employer if you are honest with them up front. Or might let you know what you are up against if they are not supportive. It's all about your long term goals and where you wanna be. Good luck! Let me know how it goes.
