oh yes, it is! I get sciatic nerve pain down my legs and it stops me in my tracks! Heat is usually one of the things that helps me, also massage, yoga (gentle stretching only, not the hard stuff) and epsom salts baths. although, you might have a harder time getting your shoulder down in the tub. maybe the heat could help you at least?
