  1. I was looking forward to going to football games, wearing smaller team jackets, but dang it I'm getting really judgmental about sitting next to fat people. NOTE: Just because I lost 90 pounds doesn't mean you get to ooze into my space. I need to bring some WLS info for the people on my season ticket row. They seem to average 350 pounds each...and that's just the women and the guys are worse.

    So many crazy men

@@VSGAnn2014 -And even when we are parted by death, if I'm left alone I will still have his love because he loved me so perfectly. And that is a perfect epithet for anyone, very moving and beautiful and a great standard to strive for.

    They seemed sane...Dating horror stories

Dear God, that is horrible beyond belief. A train wreck of epic proportions.
  5. I love that stuff. Drank it right after I was cleared for liquids and I think that is why my energy level never dropped when I had restrictions on my eating. The residue always goes away when I take a swig of Water.

    So many crazy men

@@maggie409 - "And keep in mind that some men are not still married because they were married to crazy insane ladies." Damn straight, been there, done that, got the t-shirt. While everyone can claim their ex was nuts, I have the paperwork to prove it. But 21 years of marriage (15 of which were very happy) taught me that the only constant in my relationships was me, so best to work on yourself. You will spot crazy faster. But I agree dating (online, offline) is hard. We all put up false fronts to cover our blemishes. It takes time to figure out another person. I like @@parisshel's rule. There are no perfect people, but what I'm going to settle for is negotiable with myself.

    Exercising after having the sleeve

Just walk during the first month. Your stomach incisions need that much time to heal and get really strong. After that I hit the gym. Started light, went up 10% per week until I got sore, then stayed their for a week and continued onward and upward. Month three started C25K program Month four started hot yoga Month 5+ Climbed a 14,000 foot mountain, tried fencing, did my first 5K...yeah the sky is the limit.

    Breaking out, help!

Look around the site and you will find hormones dump out of your fat cells at the rate of incredible. It is temporary. Now if you are a guy it means you start watching Pretty Woman and break out into tears ("ohhh, she wins him right back") But many people get acne for 6-8 weeks during the transition, or they lose hair. And like the constipation following the surgery, this too shall pass.

    Sleep Apnea?

@@animallover1247 - Check with your doctor about BIPAP (Click here to see the difference: http://www.cpap.com/DisplayNewsletter/CPAP-APAP-BIPAP-DIFFERENCE-PLUS-EQUIPMENT-PRODUCTS?gclid=CjwKEAjwv8iwBRC35-_e8aPqwCESJAB8khP93TdoWbOSLzSgYTKwGCgWog2Lr_Hsfrz-Bfuhn7MQABoCWjzw_wcB) Since the purpose of the machines is to keep the airway open using air pressure, the automatic machines don't need the calibration, and hence the non-stop sleep studies. In short technology has run past the sleep clinics and you don't need them. But you still need a doctor's script to buy the dang things. But all that you are getting is air. You can buy quality machines (used even) at much lower prices than you will get even with insurance. And you can choose the mask you want, not the one's your insurance company gives you or the ones they have at their medical suply store...not that I am bitter, but that's what I ended up doing. Much cheaper and much better results.

    NEW SLEEVER

Wait until you forget to eat because you were busy, that is an odd feeling. I think part of it is at the moment you are thinking about this and not trying to make a mistake. But when the stuff hits the fan around the holidays or work, it will blow your mind how little you actually think about needing to eat. BTW don't do that, because you will get one heck of a headache. Not that I'm bitter or anything.

    Help

I highly recommend working through this book before the surgery: http://www.amazon.com/Emotional-First-Aid-Kit-Practical/dp/0976852659/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1436729032&sr=8-13&keywords=bariatric+book This surgery is a tool, not a magic wand. You still have to do the work. It's a very powerful tool. And yes the weight loss has got me to where my sleep apnea is gone. And my confidence increased. And I'm digging all the new things I can do. But the GSA (Gnawing Sense of Anxiety) going in, and that's why I'm glad I did so much work getting a realistic view of what challenges I would face in the process, getting acceptance in my own heart. Ultimately I did this for my health and quality of life. You need to find your own reasons.

    Husband rant

There may be several causes of this case of HMS...(helpless male syndrome) 1) He is just an insensitive guy (as seen in t-shirt story) 2) He just may need to be taught to give vocal encouragement, which may or may not be important enough for you to coach him through 3) Or the power dynamic of the relationship shifted because when you were heavier, you were less likely to leave and he may not be able to face that reality Intersting article on this: http://www.thestar.com/life/health_wellness/2014/09/20/how_losing_weight_can_be_hard_on_a_marriage.html But this is why I always felt that doing the work in the Barbaric Emotional First Aid Kit http://www.amazon.com/Emotional-First-Aid-Kit-Practical/dp/0976852659/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1436729032&sr=8-13&keywords=bariatric+book%C2'> be done before the surgery. They are many aspects of relationships which can be really altered. But remember, ultimately you made this decision for your long term health. As to your emotional health...decision time looms.

He may not like me saying this, but he loves women and really cares about how they look. He told a friend "her boobs look great and he would not operate on them until there was a problem." I think I was not as critical with this article as most because I have been seeing other calcium/bone health/dairy studies for about the last decade and this was one of the more clear ones.
