Yes he is married and he has actually made a nice business since the video went viral. He feels the same way toward his wife as I do about my girlfriend...we found a unicorn and feel blessed
-
@@CowgirlJane - As an outside observer, I think you hit "unicorn" status as described here: (just to be fair, here is link to a criticism of it: http://www.bustle.com/articles/34202-dana-mclendons-universal-hot-crazy-matrix-a-mans-guide-to-women-is-the-worst) Yes dating is a crooked game...however it is the only game in town. If you really run the numbers you will begin to realize just how hard it is to find the right person. You don't want young kids, they have to be free, and add to that you get to a certain point of responsibility where you expect financial accountability...that eliminates many people. Then there are those who have developed chemical dependencies, gambling problems, mommy issues, narcissism, Border Line Personality disorders, PTSS from war or other situations...The pool gets really shallow when you start thinking about all the people you want to exclude. So you create an "deal killer" list which removes 70% of potentials and then your choice is to settle or negotiate. And let's face it, even those who make the cut, just don't do it for us. Its rare to find the right person. But if done well the search can be rewarding. So please don't get completely down on the process.

Dealing With the In-Between Clothes Stage - Any Advice on Subscriptions

No easy answer, depends on your job and how well you have to dress (difference between Wall Street, and Main St.) but consignment shops worked well for me. -
Genpro has changed, anyone try Piping Rock Whey Protein Isolate Powder?
OKCPirate posted a topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
The first batch of genpro I received was excellent. Dissolved well, and had these cool little take out bags. The latest batch, the container was different, and started clotting up in coffee, and the bags were absent. I found whey Protein Isolate Powder at 1/3 the price. Essentially the same stuff based on their claims. Has anyone tried it? -
Yep, I think the two pirates can take 'em down Cowgirl. But between you and Babbs, they really don't have a chance, but if you need some muscle, I'm there. I actually have been surprised by the quality, frankness and relative lack of crudeness on this site and the posts. I have to go through many posts even on car forums where someone with the IQ of the average houseplant throws an f-bomb. The discussions here have been fun. Even when talking about sex, drugs and Protein for the most part people have been a great mixture of tough love and support. There are the occasional exceptions, but I'm not looking for perfection (esp. on the internet).

Anyone else gauge food by protein?
OKCPirate replied to Nurse_Lenora's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@Nurse_Lenora - yes, all the time, it's now an ingrained habit. Grams of protein/physical size/calories run through my mind almost without thinking. -

OKCPirate replied to OKCPirate's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I don't know where they get the 5 scoops from, one is 28g. I like it, not seeing any negatives, ingredients seem solid and no complaints to-date. I'm a fan and daily user. -
Losing weight & finding other alarming things.

I hope it isn't serious, but it would be funny if it was a rib you have not felt in years. Keep us posted. -
Protein & Water Concerns
OKCPirate replied to christinems4280's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@christinems4280 genpro changed their formulation about 4 months ago and IMHO not like it used to be. I use PipingRock.com for unflavored (for coffee/yogurt)...half the price, low calorie to Protein. I use GNC's no sugar chocolate. Don't try unflavored protein Water. Not recommended by anyone. Stop by GNC and try some of the Isopure flavored drinks. 40g of protein. I like them, but certainly not to everyone's taste. but has advantage of liquids and protein. The green tea flavor has been my favorite. -
Protein & Water Concerns
OKCPirate replied to christinems4280's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I supplement everyday. I use some Protein powder in my coffee and with my yogurt (either chocolate or unflavored). With the Water I like the 0 calorie Wyler's lemonade flavor powder. But I'm good with sipping plain water too. It does get easier thanks to good habits being developed over time. Congrats on the loss to date. -
@@jj7481 - those were great links, thanks

@@BellaS - on a serious note be sure you trust the people you have in the recovery room if your surgery team uses Versed (http://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-16693/versed-oral/details). Its a good drug but it takes away your short term memory. I had soooo much fun with my ex-wife when she had some minor surgery...I had her call her mom three times because she would call and intimidatingly forget that she had called her mom, so I would reminder her again "she promised her mom she would call." There is a reason why this drug is very tightly regulated. You just don't want it to end up in the hands of a Bill Cosby.

Glad Freud is not monitoring this. Amazing how feelings of sexual attraction creep into our food discussions. Not pointing fingers (nor licking fingers salaciously) at anyone, just noticing a trend.

Post op in hospital question...

I showered soon after. Just keep the incision points dry, use a fresh towel and wash clothe to minimize chances of infection. -
What, specifically, caused you to become obese?
OKCPirate replied to careya123's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Interesting question. I was a heavy kid, and I think it was an area of comfort in a dysfunctional home. I got my weight down to normal my Jr. year in high school and was at a health consistent size until I left the Army Reserve and had kids. I just didn't pay attention and then my train wreck of divorce it just kept getting more out of control. So when I found myself 50, and a heart attack waiting to happen I started using weight watchers to try and get my size down. Didn't work. So specifically what lead to becoming obese...it was being lazy about my food choices (easier to eat processed/fast food), and not exercising. Depression helped make it easier not to pay attention too. -

"F*ckwits" No, no, no...F*ckTARDs What a bunch of idiots. Geez, do people not know the cost of obesity to people's souls and to society and families. ...ok rant over, blood pressure returning to normal.

@@jennylizz - No. It's a puzzle. I'd go very high Protein initially and then study and track how your system works. We are all the same in that we are all different.

Dr. Ronnie Keith in Tulsa and OKC
OKCPirate replied to tina74035's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mixed online reviews: http://www.obesityhelp.com/profiles/bariatric-surgeon/dr-ronnie-keith/ If you are going to spend the money have you considered this group: http://weightwise.com/dr-gregory-walton-md/ Greg goes to my church and is a stand up human being (He suffered from horrible 3rd degree burns and barely survived, but his hands and eyes were spared which allows him to do surgery). I talked to him about my WLS and explained to him about the costs which he understood and checked out my surgeon in Mexico and while he didn't endorse the idea, he didn't give me any red flags either.
