    Gym Supplements. Need a push

There are pre work out energy shakes u can drink. It will give u a boost. That medication increases your heart rate and is actually terrible for u. Go to GNC and ask someone to help u out. I'm not sure what I drink, I have a personal trainer/my best friend and he just makes it for me! Lol I should probably ask him huh?

    My story, so far...

Thank you for sharing your story! What a great success you have already had! I am excited to follow your journey to see what more u can over come! Congratulations! I promise it gets better!
  4. I'm just glad I am finally feeling better and feel like I have enough energy to exercise. The first couple weeks were brutal on my system. Lol thank u all! This is the best support I have found. I get so excited but don't want to talk much about it to the friends and family that know I had the surgery. I'm afraid they will get jealous or get tired of hearing about it. So I just scream happy on the inside ☺️
  5. Well today is a GREAT day. I am 4 weeks post op. My 3 week stall has seemed to pass!!! My diet is now my life time diet. I haven't had any issues with tolerating any foods. I feel full at my meals. Eating about 1/2 cup at a time. Maybe a little more if it is soupy. I am going today to start my gym membership and I couldn't be more excited! I can't wait to see what the next 1 month anniversary holds! Down 30 pounds and counting!
  6. What a great friend! Good luck to u on ur journey!!
  7. Did they not give u Actigal to take after ur surgery to protect ur gall bladder?!? Most surgeons if u still have ur gall bladder prescribe it. Rapid weight kiss fries ur gall bladder ???? he should have known that!
  8. It is tough. But honestly it's not as bad as you probably think! The 1st week seemed to creep for me. But them things started settling in place. Just keep telling yourself it will be worth it in the end! Good luck to you! I wish u much success!
  9. Thanks. I know it's still such a long road. And lots of hard work, but I know I can do it, a little hard work never hurt anyone! My 5 year old daughter feels my belly everyday saying it's getting smaller mommy, your gonna be skinny like me! Lol she is my biggest fan no matter what size I am ❤️☺️
  10. Thank you ☺️ best part is I finally feel good! It's so rough the first couple weeks. Feeling tired and weak. But it really DOES get better! You do feel normal again!

    Lap Band and Methadone Clinic

Your Insurance hasn't given the final approval if your psych eval hasn't made it to them yet. They may have given information to your surgeons office that the surgery is actually covered by them, but all of your testing records and reports have to be submitted to Insurance for final approval which any WLS goes before a medical board. Even my insurance co. I don't need pre approval for anything. I still had to get all the info to them. They couldn't deny me. But they still needed all the paper work.

    Newbie

I'm not a floor nurse. I am actually not practicing at the moment. I took a couple years off. I felt like I was missing my last baby grow! I've been off almost 3 years now. I started sewing for my daughter, and it bloomed into an online business. My husband just surprised me with an actual studio/shop in town so I'm in no hurry to get back into the routine of shift work

    Protein

Just be sure to know it is also a meal in itself. I use premade premier protein. I am shocked ur nutritionist didn't talk to u about protein powders or shakes. And also on your boot camp days increase those calories for sure. What was your starting weight opposed to goal weight?

    How's my calories?

I am 4 weeks post op, and the past week I had gained 2 pounds. This morning I was finally down another pound. Hoping my "3 week stall" has passed. As far as diet goes yours sounds a lot like mine. I am actually already on my lifetime diet. As week 2 I was also on soft foods. All surgeons have different plans and orders. I've had zero issues with any foods or drinks. I still follow the no sugar, high protein lots of water. Sometimes I hit my 60g of protein sometimes I fall pretty short. I have lost 29 pounds and I feel pretty good. Your body will go through lots of fluctuation during the next couple weeks. It's adjusting to the shock. And I rarely get over 7-8 hundred calories in. Good luck to u!

    Vitamin question

I started taking them 1 day post op. I have the one a day womens VitaCraves gummies. They are like a treat. Lol they are yummy. I also take a chocolate calcium chew daily. Both were what my surgeon suggested.
  18. I had a thread on this last week. Had some great advice. I bought some sugar free chocolate. That really did the trick!!

    Scared of Pain:(

I had no pain from the regular sleeve surgery. I also had an umbilical hernia repaired at the same time. That was a little tender. The incision down my belly button was the only discomfort I found. I only stayed over night, and didn't take any pain meds after I was released. All healed well. I did have discomfort from gas. You just have to walk walk walk.

6 days out and ate food

I was eating heavier soups by day 6. I even ate chili with meat in it. Chew chew chew drink lots of water and your protein shakes. They really fill me up. Good luck on your journey!

My journey seems out of sink?

You will also find u need increased calories and water to lose weight. Get that protein and water in. It will come off faster. I did lose 27 pounds in my 1st 2 weeks. BUT I'm now 4 weeks PO and still just at 28 pounds. Not discouraged a bit because hey it's almost 30 pounds in a MONTH! I feel better finally and getting into a normal routine. I would rather it come off a bit slower. Gives my work outs time to get more in shape
  22. I have always struggled a bit with constipation, but this surgery is KILLING me. Lol I have been taking meds now for 3 days to try to go. Still nothing. I know maybe TMI but please tell me this is normal?

    When to weigh in?

I weigh daily. Just because I started an app on my phone to track. It doesn't bother me to see a stall or gain though. I don't really rely on the numbers so much as the way I feel and the way my clothes fit. What ever or whenever u do weight don't be a prisoner to ur numbers

    Newbie

Oh and I didn't have a drain tube either
  25. kikicoates78

    Newbie

I had no staples. I had 6 incisions. 2 1" the rest 1/2". Steri-strip last over top. I also had an umbilical hernia which caused an incision in my belly button. Which was the only actual pain I had. I didn't take any pain meds post op other than Tylenol in the hospital. I was only in over night. As a nurse u know and are aware of the gas pain. Just walk walk walk! I'm a nurse too, we make the worst patients ☺️ I'm 3 weeks post op and finally feeling great! Good luck with your journey!
