    OCTOBER 2014

Just FYI as far as protein drinks go, I was told in my nutrition class our body's after surgery can only positively absorb 30g at a time. We were instructed never to consume more than that at one setting. Anyhow just thought I would share that.

    OCTOBER 2014

I'm Oct 23rd!!! Been is a stall for a couple days. (Someone referred to it as the dreaded 3 week stall) Dr wants to start me on Actigal because I had such a large loss already. Says it's to protect my Gall bladder. It's $400 a month though!!!!! Ugh punishment for losing weight too fast? Lol can't wait to see everyone's progress!!

  7. I made it through! It didn't even really bother me!! I'm 17 days post op and finally feeling good! Yay for small steps. Only at about 26 pounds lost. I have stalled for 2 days but I read that it's normal so not stressing! #nobirthdaycakeWIN

    Variation in liquid stage times

I kinda added purée into my full liquids. And have been doing soft foods. Saw my surgeon today and he said my food log looked ok. So I guess I'm following the rules.
  9. I am still new to the forum, I was sleeves on the 23rd of Oct. just curious at the variations in what the surgeons order for liquid phases. My phase 1 was Clear liquids. Started this just a few hours after surgery. For only 24 hours. Phase 2 cream liquids. Only for 10-14 days depending toleration. Phase 3 soft foods/purée 10-14 days depending toleration Phase 4 regular food. This is all less than a month before I was told I would be back to normal foods. Is that too soon? I see people much longer. Also I'm very lucky to have had no problems in tolerating, except for Protein pudding which did hurt my belly at 4 days post op.

    New jackets and/or coats?

I will still fit in mine from last year that was snug. Next year will be new wardrobe time. Luckily I have kept clothes from size 16-22. So I'm ok for the next couple months. Lol but I'm a shopper. So I have no problem getting a new wardrobe every few months ????

    Tummy Tuck

My Insurance covers it as well after WLS. Congrats. How exciting to be at that point in your journey! I'm sooooo far from there but still very excited!
  13. kikicoates78

    What are you excited for?

I rock my high heels fat... Lol but I am excited to rock any outfit I choose! mostly I'm excited to be able to have the ability to tumble and play with my 5 yo daughter. ????

    My body feels awful...

I too thought some of the diets were odd compared to my own orders, but I was also confused because my liquid diet phases varied so much from others. I am 17 days PO and I'm already on soft foods. (Per orders) I've not had any issues with any foods to this point. Cheating is only cheating yourself. But a lot of surgeons or weight loss teams just do things differently.
  15. Thank u! I didn't realize about the 3 week stall that's where I'm at. I mistyped 10 days PO. I was sleeved on the 23rd. In 17days PO. I'm not gonna let it get me down. I just keep saying 26 pounds in 3 weeks is AMAZING. lol ima keep it up! Thank you for your encouragement!
  16. Hubs did send me this pic that made me giggle ☺️

8 months post op with pics

You are rocking it!!! Our stats are about the same. I'm much shorter than u look though. So I have great hope! I'm only 2 weeks out, so a looong road ahead. But I'm excited for it! 26 pounds and counting here. Lol
  19. kikicoates78

Should my weight be at a stand still?

Congrats on your 24 pounds!!! That is great! Ur body is still adjusting. It's kinda storing everything u eat right now because it thinks u are starving. It will all even out. I was 275, hit 265 day of surgery 10/23 and down to 249 today which is 2 weeks post op. That's 26 pounds in 3 weeks. That's what I keep telling myself. Even when I don't see movement. So be proud. 24 pounds is a lot and there will be a lot more! Keep ur chin up.

Surgery and Aunty Flow on the same day

@@Jennifer u spent 3 days in the hospital???? ???? I would go crazy!! I was begging to leave by next morning. I was in less than 24 hours!

Does being called "Skinny" offend you?

I'm too curvy to ever be called "skinny". Lol my bum isn't gonna ever go away. Even when I was a size 3 I hade a huge behind. Haha
  22. kikicoates78

    What size is your sleeve?

I think it's a great question. I never knew there was different sizes! I just started soft puréed and I had about 2-3 tbs and was full. I see mine the 10th, I'm gonna ask!
  23. kikicoates78

    Thoughts on sugar free?

Also sugar produces a hunger hormone that is nearly eradicated during the sleeve procedure as it's produced in the part of ur stomach that is cut away. But the more sugar u eat it produces more? Something like that.

    Thoughts on sugar free?

Sugar will just slow down ur weightloss. The whole point that I was given is your 1st year is your golden year. U want to lose all u can. Cutting out sugars, starches and bread until u meet your goal weight is critical. Then u have to slowly re-introduce them making sure they don't cause weight gain. But as they say it's a life style change. I have easily given up all of the above but I'm just 2 weeks post op. Good Luck to you!
