    Strange scar issue

Tracy, I'm glad you knew what I was talking about. I wasn't sure what they injected in my scar, all I can tell you is it worked.

Taking Suggestions for NEW LBT Features!

I have loved this site. It has been such a great blessing to me and my family (DH, DS and I are all banded.) I love some of the new changes that have been made lately. The changes have made the site much more user friendly. Now for the things that I would like to see: --Tickers that are LBT specific --Forums age specific like teens, 20s, 30s, 40s --Forums weightloss specific:: Dotties has a group for those who need to lose 50 pounds, 100 pounds, etc. Those are great because you get to know people who are in the same boat you are in. LOL --The ability to revise a post. I hate when I post something then relize that something is wrong. I think that's about all. Thanks so much for all the hard work that goes into this site.

    Strange scar issue

I'm going to use neosporin until it closes up again and keep it covered with band-aids until it's hardened enough that my bra won't irritate it. I'm just really discouraged. Oh gosh Steph. Don't use Neosporin. Get some Bactracin instead. It's on the shelf next to the neosporin. According to my dermatologist neosporin has an ingredient that inhibits healing. The bactracin has all of the ingredients that you need. I will say that I had never heard that. I grew up slattering neosporin on any and all cuts. The bactracin really does work. My dermatologist has given me injections of cortizone or something to help smooth out scars. I have never had problems with scars before, but about a year ago a old scar began keloiding(Don't know if that's a real word. lol) One injection and the scar was nice and smooth again.

In need of motivation BIG STYLE

Oh, gosh girl you just need a big hug. I know for myself if I'm not careful about chewing I will have problems. Remember why you wanted to be banded in the first place. You have lost 9 lbs!!! That's great. It's sure better than gaining 9 lbs. Hang in there.

    First Fill

Take it slow. Small bites. Remember that there will be things that you were able to eat before that won't work now.

    Did you notice

I love the way they have set up the boards now. I always hated having to look for the the November 07 group. Much nicer now.

    Yuck I did it!!

Don't feel bad. I have done the exact same thing. It's always when I'm not paying attention to what I'm doing. I'll swallow too soon and then there is pain. I just consider it a learning experience.

    Nymphs..How did you do today?

I actually did pretty well. I did have some things that aren't exactly diet friendly, but I knew I was going to eat them before I got there. I know I did 100% better than I would have in the past. You know as we were sitting at the table I noticed just how much everyone else was putting on their plate. Well, except for my Mom. I think she ate less than I did and she's not banded.
  9. My surgery was Nov. 19. I really didn't have any problems with gas. Now my DH who was banded Nov. 14 and my DS who was banded Dec 17 had real problems with gas. They used the Gas-X strips and walked alot.

    Question about losses

I had my surgery about 3 weeks ago. I have lost 9 lbs since the surgery and a total of 23 since I started. It seems to me that this is pretty good, it's an average of 3 lbs a week since surgery. I went to WW yesterday and had lost 1.2 lbs, which I thought was pretty darn good. When talking to friends, they asked how much I had lost. When I told them, they asked if that was all. I said I was thrilled to death. They felt that I should have lost more. My question is how much have you all been losing since surgery in November?? I figure if I average 2 lbs a week I'll have lost over 100 lbs in a year, so I'm thrilled.

    Question about losses

I spoke with one of my girlfriends who was there yesterday. She said that she thought that even though I knew that I wasn't going to drop all my weight overnight, the others thought I would. I know that nothing said to be hurtful. Thanks for all of your replies.

    Getting Stuck

I had this happen to me on Monday. I was eating carrot salad. I guess I didn't chew it up enough, then I took a bite of chicken. Oh, boy. Not good. I raised my arms over my head and that seemed to help. Don't want that to happen again.

    Excited

I went to WW yesterday and was in total shock. First of all I was down 7.8 lbs for the week. Now the truth is that the week before I had a gain of .2 which I thought was pretty good since I had just had surgery. I was sick this week but I think the 7.8 isn't too bad. What made me excited though was that I looked at my weight since I started this journey. Check out my weight ticker!!!

Major Weight Loss on Oprah Today

Okay I'm going to try this again. I have tried to write this three times and the grimlins are taking my post. I joined WW 5 years ago this coming Feb. I lost 100 lbs. The problem was that I immediately began gaining it back. I have never stopped attending meetings. I knew if I did I would gain it all back. When I hit plus 60 I knew I had to do something more permenant. I KNOW I can lose weight. My problem is that I can't keep it off. My surgeon says, "When you reach goal, if you gain a few pounds, you watch what you eat. If you gain 15 lbs you come back for a fill. I know that I will always have to battle my weight. This time I'm ready for the fight. I've got my band watching my back. I will win this battle. Just call me Wendy the Bravehearted. LOL

Nervous about eating...moving to soft foods

I got to start soft foods 4 days after my surgery. I'll admit I was nervous. I have kept the slimfast as part of my daily meals. It's just easier on the days that I have to be at work. I work 3 days a week.
  23. Momto1plus1

    Excited

I have always followed points. Right now I'm just going for weigh-ins and lecture. I'm really just eating what I feel will work with the band. I'm not sure how to approach the whole thing. I guess the core plan would really work best since it's really what the band eating is about.

    Getting Banded tomorrow (11/30)

I had to be at the hospital at 6:30. Surgery at 9:30 and I was heading home by 3:00. Dh had the same thing but we didn't leave until 5:30. His surgery lasted a little longer than mine. The doctor didn't like where the band was so he re-did it.

    Banding @ 1:30 today!!
