I'm sorry for the TMI, but I'm so uncomfortable from not being able to move my bowels I have hardly been able to in about 3 days. I've been taking the colace, and still no. Today I was ok, had eggs for breakfast, my bf and I went out and about and I took a protein shake with me. I drank 4oz of it and about 15 min after my last sip I was in so much pain, right in the middle of my belly. I felt like I had to go and I felt like I had to puke. We stopped at a bathroom and I couldn't do either. Pain wasn't going away so I called the nurse line. She told me to do an enema (ew!)...soo I stopped and got one, we went home, I did it, it worked a LITTLE bit, and then I took a 3 hr nap. I woke up and the pain was gone for the most part...but I still feel blah. I'm not hungry, I'm afraid to eat. I just want water and Popsicles. Idk if it's happening from eating more foods now on puree? I was going just fine last week On a happier note, I've just realized that I have lost 40 lbs since June, and 20 since surgery 2 weeks ago. I def feel better other than the belly cramps. My arthritis isn't as bad it seems, I am able to walk up the stairs and not cry. My boyfriend looked at me today and said "wow babe, you're looking really good", which made me feel good of course. As for sex...I miss it lol. We were so excited cuz I got the ok from doc last week, and then I got my period. Next week I guess lol.

Does anyone else have issues with the protein shakes and the unflavored powder? I was doing good with them the week I came home from the hospital. They tasted so yummy to me, all was good. Now it's like I have to gag it down. And the unflavored powder has a gross taste to me, I mixed it in crystal light and the consistency made me feel blahhh. It all makes me wanna vomit its not causing dumping or anything but its just gross. and idk how else to get 80g of protein in

@@layknee Thank you

That's good Yea I heard it can happen hours later too, out of nowhere lol. No fun! I haven't tried the chicken soup powder, but I did get the unflavored unjury, and I added it to a Water jug of crystal light....I thought I was going to get sick just from the taste it's definitely not "unflavored" enough for me lol. I have to give it another shot, maybe in some kind of food. Speaking of food, last night I took the chicken breast chunks that I had made in the ff cream of chicken and washed it off lol, then pureed it in my nutri bullet with a little bit of broth, then added a little of the light hellmans, a little bit of salt n pepper, and it was amazing! Didn't bother my pouch at all, it was so welcoming! And my new best friend since my dumping the other day has been the Powerade zero. Regular water has been bothering me, so this is awesome. Thank you for the information Smiley!

That's awesome! Lol I can't wait to be a cheap date Where did you find the bariatric card?? I meant to ask for one at my last appt but I forgot..

So this is really weird for me. I have pretty much lost all feelings of "hunger", except that I have what some call "head hunger". Like I have to remind myself to eat, because I could seriously go all day without putting anything in my stomach. But I'll smell what someone is cooking or eating, or I'll see it and I want it. My boyfriend had buffalo wings and blue cheese earlier this week and I was practically drooling from the smell. Then I sat down with my little bowl of mashed potatoes and fat free gravy and I couldn't finish it lol. Then there are the CRAVINGS...I don't know why, but since the day after my surgery, I've been craving crackers. Ritz crackers to be exact. And cucumbers. Not together lol, but I really can't wait for the day I can eat crackers and cucumbers again! Don't get me started on Red velvet brownies! lol, I'll stop now!

Good for you! I need to get back to the gym ASAP, I am only a week and a half out though. I think I need to follow in your footsteps and stay away from the scale, it is like an obsession with me I near had a heart attack the day I came home from the hospital and it was 16lbs higher than surgery day lol. i forgot about all the gas and fluids! That is all gone though, thank goodness, plus some, so I'm relieved. Seriously though, scales are not my friend right now! Good luck!
-
Oh wow @TinaC....I hope you feel better! That sounds like it to me...it's making me wonder, cuz that night for dinner, I used the 98% ff cream of chicken soup to add to my mushed chicken....hmmm. Anywho, feel better chickie!

@@Beni Awesome!! I am almost to week 2 myself, it's hard sometimes because I'm a gulper too lol, I did the same thing last night with my powerade after shopping! All in time I guess
-
@@alibye, I don't think it was that lol, it def tasted like the sugar free, blah lol. Hope you all have a great day as well!
-
Congrats to you all too! I am starting to get the hang of it lol, I measure everything and follow the rules. Still no full feeling, but I know my limit. Drinking is still something I have to work on, cuz I'm a gulped lol. I get so thirsty and I just want to down a glass of cold water, but having to sip is so frustrating lol. I had my first dumping last night, from SUGAR FREE PUDDING AND SUGAR FREE COOL WHIP! Omg it was the worst feeling ever! Good luck to you all!

Hi everyone! My name is Stacey, I'm 34 yrs old and just had the gastric bypass on 10/28/14. I was 271 when I started my journey, and I was 250 the morning of my surgery. I weighed myself when I got home, big mistake lol. I was 266! I didn't realize that all of the gas and fluids from the hospital would do that, I kind of freaked out! I weighed myself the next morning and it was down to 259, and I am trying so hard not to check it again until my first post-op appt. So far I really have not had much pain, except for last night (Halloween) because I did a little more walking than I should have. The only problem I seem to be running into is that I'm not getting that "full" feeling that is always talked about. I am not really "hungry" either, but I'm worried that I'm not getting enough in my pouch, or that I will over stuff it. Anyone else feel that way?
-
Thanks everyone! I'm better now, but man did that hurt! I'm not sure what caused it, but I have been using fat free milk for my protein shakes all week so idk...I am staying away from pudding and cool whip, that's for sure! It's weird how different the docs diets are from one another. You all seem to be on liquids for a while, mine had me start puree one week out. I think I'm going back to liquids for a few days tho, maybe my pouch is in distress from the purees? Who knows :-/
-
Thanks for the support! I am so much better now, but it lasted for a few hours. I never want to feel that again I'm glad I stocked up on almond milk before my surgery tho lol
-
I'm going thru my first bout with dumping right now! It hurts so bad, I don't know how to get thru it I had a little bit of sugar free pudding with a little spoonful of sugar free cool whip on top, and 20 min later I was feeling cramps...it subsided and I ended up falling asleep but I just woke up with wicked pain right in the middle of my belly....have the shakes and sweats, my heart is pounding, I threw up a little but and had a little of the diarrhea.....omg has anyone ever had this from sugar free pudding??

"You're not even that big... I think you need to be like 600lbs..." Wait..WHAT?!
Luna222 replied to MrsB2007's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Some people are just so ignorant! A few weeks ago, I went with my best friend to the salon to get her hair cut. She's talking to the stylist and her big mouth tells the woman I'm having wls in a week. I'm a private person and it was not her place to be telling people that. I took it in stride tho. So this woman turns and looks at me and she's like what?? Oh my god you're not even that big, how much do you weigh? I said well that's private, but I am 5'3" and my bmi is well over 40. She's like ohh. Well you don't look like you need it, usually people that are like 400 lbs need it, but good luck honey. I was so annoyed. First of all, like you said, if you don't know the struggle then just shut up. I was 250 the morning of my surgery last week. But I was 275 when I started the process. At 5'3", that is pretty fluffy! I just can't stand when people are so judgemental. -
Omg yes! @@kimodell69 exactly! Lol its like everyone is just up your butt and then all of a sudden it's nothing lol. I can be a baby sometimes, lol. I think once I'm cleared to drive today I'll be ok, I can go out and walk around target or something at least, rather than being alone with myself and my thoughts. Hope you feel better!

@ yea time off to work thru the changes is definitely needed! I think my problem yesterday, or at least part of it, was that I was bored...and what did I do when I was bored before my surgery? EAT. GRAZE. I wasn't hungry at all, but that's just what I'm used to I guess...nothing to do? Grab some cookies and watch a movie. Idk, it is all so new, we'll get thru it! I ended up cooking for a little bit to keep my mind from going stir crazy, made some stuff for my puree phase

second thoughts about the surgery :(
Luna222 replied to crazystacy81's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It is normal to have these feelings. I had them too, for the two weeks before my surgery I was such a mess. It was like back and forth, it was all starting to become so real. I had days where I would just start crying and saying to myself "WHAT am I about to do???"...my friends and my family and my boyfriend all helped me get thru it, and before I knew it, it was the morning of my surgery, which was a week ago today. I got up, I was all good, I was excited and ready to go. I sat in the waiting room, and then I had to be brought back to the holding rooms. Right away my nerves started, I had to go to the bathroom. I came back and they put the iv in, and that's when I started freaking out. I was so nauseous, I thought I was going to get sick right there. My heart was pounding. The anesthesiologist came in and gave me an anti nausea patch behind my ear and they put something in the iv for my anxiety. I calmed down and the next thing I knew I was in recovery, and I am so happy I went thru with it today. You will be fine, just keep thinking positive thoughts -
1 week Post Op.....looking for advice, tips....
Luna222 replied to CheleLynn45's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I totally understand what you're going thru! I am a week post op today, except I started puree yesterday, I guess all docs are diff. I have had no problems with anything, except a whey protein shake that didn't agree. I almost feel like I'm eating too much, idk...it just isn't what I expected either, and I almost feel like I didn't have surgery at all. It's making me nervous :-/ I have my follow up tomorrow, so I will Def be mentioning this to them! I know everyone is different, but I feel like the oddball out lol -
Hey everyone! So, today is my first day alone since a few days before my surgery, I am now a week out. I'm not cleared to drive yet either, because my post op isn't til tomorrow...haven't taken any pain meds, but I'm afraid to chance it. I thought I'd be fine with it, I usually like to have some quiet time. But I'm super lonely and feeling kind of sad and depressed I don't know why?
-
Aww I'm sorry! I got the dannon light and fit, which I seemed to be fine with. Haven't really had any issues at all with anything yet, knock on wood lol. My only problem is that I am scared that I'm not eating enough. This is all so new and different from the way I ate forever, and it's probably all in my head lol

What is everyone eating on Puree?
Luna222 replied to Luna222's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Mmm white chicken chili sounds yummy! Yes I have had yogurt a couple of times, I can't find the strawberry cheesecake tho I love regular strawberry too so it's all good I'm starting to get nervous that I'm not getting enough to eat....I just got home from a long day and I had some protein shakes here and there, but I didn't feel like cooking any meat when I got home so I had instant mashed potatoes w some ff gravy. It was so good and all but I only ate about 2 tbsp. and I was full. This is all so new, idk what to do with myself lol -
