*Sigh* I have a UTI I felt like something was off today, I've been having this feeling that I have to pee still 10 min after I pee...then today I noticed sediment in my pee...so I figured I should go to Urgent Care to be safe. And I was right. This is the first time for me. I'm definitely not getting enough liquids, gotta carry around a bag of ice with me all day lol

Just looking for some different ideas on what to eat during the puree stage. I am so bad at coming up with different things. Please help!?

Little victories make me happy! Today I wore a shirt that I got 2 yrs ago to wear to a Luke Bryan concert...it didn't fit, I couldn't button it at all. Today it was loose The other day it was a sweater I haven't worn in 5 years. This weekend will be my cute pink Tom Brady jersey that has never fit me, I'm so excited to wear it! Idk if this has anything to do with the surgery, but my feet have been on fire burning hot all week, but only at night when I'm laying down. Even out of the blankets. So weird. I'm also noticing super duper dry skin, from head to toe. So annoying

Yea,I don't know how the 12g of sugar will go, but I only plan on eating half, so I suppose 6 isn't bad. My nut told me hummus is ok to eat, it's just that I need crunchy veggies with it lol. I had some low fat tomato bisque Soup for dinner tonight, and I kind of added a couple of whole wheat crackers. I figured I'd try, since they told me I can eat cheerios that are soggy in milk, why not try a soggy in soup cracker lol. It didn't bother me at all, yay! Not going to make it a habit, but I needed something more today. Tomorrow is going to be some homemade baked sweet potato fries. And you are absolutely right, good things do come to those who wait!

Oh my! @@amylynns I hope you feel better soon! I didn't know you could have a uti without the painful symptoms, hmm. I worry that I'm dehydrated too, I feel like I'm drinking alot, but in reality it really is only between 30 and 40 oz I think. People keep saying my calf cramps could mean I am...yikes! Anyway, feel better! *hugs*

Idk...I'm starting to get some of my Hunger feelings back lol. But it's not bad stuff that I'm hungry for, I want salads and soups, apples, oranges, grapes, carrots n hummus...although I want an egg roll so bad too lol. @@Beni I'm not sure what to have for Thanksgiving yet. I have my 1 month appt on Tuesday, so I'll find out then what I will be able to have. The nutritionist in the hospital seemed to think I'd be able to have a little bit of stuffing as long as I had my turkey finely cut up first. I feel like I'd be able to handle it, but idk. I guess we'll see...every doctor is different, I feel like mine rushes things a lil. I got a recipe from hungry girl for a pumpkin parfait, I will post a link for everyone in a min! It looks yummy! Something good to make so we can have dessert toooo

Oh my goodness! @@amylynns that def looks like a seroma, my friend had a different type of surgery, but it opened just like that and went to dr, they put something on it and had her packing it w the gauze and covering it every day. @@layknee yours looks like it's definitely opening, I would def put something over it and contact the dr too! I hope you ladies feel better! @@AuriP I see the difference! Looking good!

Yes exactly @@amylynns! My best friend even had it done and even she didn't mention the struggle lol. I mean she said sometimes you'll have bad days etc, but man! I think I'm just staying away from eggs for a little bit too. Since I haven't been having the protein powder, I haven't had any pains all week, which is great. I ended up getting a baked potato from Wendy's last night, and a side of cheese sauce, and that sat very well with me. It's all I wanted. My bf's sis made tacos for dinner and I tried to have a little of the meat, but for some reason I just wasn't feeling it. I'm so over puree I have another appt next week, 2 days before thanksgiving, and I hoping they tell me I can eat some turkey and stuffing! The nutritionist in the hospital said I probably will be able to by then, but to make sure I eat my meat first because the stuffing will make me full. We'll see! I do have a few other concerns too, my calves have been cramping up all week...if I'm sitting and I stand up it almost feels like I'm about to get a Charlie horse but not quite there. And my calves were very hard muscle before surgery, now they are smooshy :-/ and my knee is killing me again. It's been awesome since I came home...now I can hardly walk on it. I have rheumatoid arthritis, and I've been off my meds since I can't have nsaids. My surgeon says I can have methotrexate...my primary says no I can't, and my rheumatologist doesn't know either way. Idk what to do :-/ move to Florida away from icy NY? Lol

Well I started my day with an enema. Ugh! I hate this I think they are going to be in my life for a few months, but if it keeps my belly from hurting, I'll take it! I had some scrambled egg whites with a little cheese this morning and I could hardly eat it...even the smell was making me feel nauseous. So weird, I had the at week just fine. All I want right now is Italian ice and ice water. Or if I was able to have a cracker or a piece of bread I'd be happy w that too lol. Idk, it's like I'm up and down every day :-/
-
Omg, I thought I was going crazy cuz I can't handle the protein shakes either...they make me so sick and so does the unflavored unjury I have to remind myself to eat, yet I could chug juice and Water all day. I've been eating Greek yogurt, but that's not enough protein unfortunately. What has your dr said?
-
Are you feeling any better? What did you eat the night before? I had a problem similar the other day...I noticed it startedwhile I was on the treadmill at the gym lol. 5 times within 2 hrs, I finally gave up and left...then I tried grocery shopping. Not good lol. Idk what caused it, it was just so random!

Omg I think I'm hitting that 3 week stall! :'( it will be 3 weeks this Tues....The scale has been the same for the last 3 or 4 days now. Any suggestions???
-
Lol, men never seem to have issues! Yes, I take omeprazole once a day, but no pepcid yet. Maybe that would help. Even before surgery I got nauseous alot. My tummy could never really "handle" meds...a few weeks before surgery, I was taking Iron supplements because I am anemic. I was doing the Protein shakes and so that's all I had that morning. 10 min after my bf started driving, I threw up...I have to get the iv iron now. In the hospital they had to give me tramadol for pain, hydros make me sick. I want more of the anti nausea Patches they put on me before lol. Idk....just blah lol. I just had a no sugar added Italian ice, mmmm it made me feel much better!
-
@@amylynns Woohooo! Lol...I'm still waiting, hopefully soon!
-
I tried to get them to give me something for nausea and it was like pulling teeth. I still don't have anything, and I feel nauseous quite a bit.

@@Beni - I had a problem on Monday, it had been 3 days and I got this wicked cramp in my belly that wouldn't go away. I had taken my Colace, I tried Milk of magnesia....called the nurse line and she told me to try an enema or suppository (I know, no fun)...so I did an enema, I went a little bit...took a nap and I felt better...The next morning I went and I've been good since. Maybe that is all you need? I would try it, and if it doesn't work definitely call the doctor, there could be a blockage or something

Oooh I never though to add cream cheese to the chicken salad! That sounds yummy. I just came across a blog with some yummy looking recipes on it, called bariatricfoodie.blogspot.com ...I can't wait to try some of it! I'm really in the mood for some kind of good soup today, it's freezing here in NY, and supposed to snow tonight :-/ I was thinking of having my mom make some of her awesome beef stew for me, except I wouldn't eat the beef of course. Question for everyone....have any of you been noticing dry mouth?? My mouth is so dry, all day...I sip water all day, but it's still so dry and makes me sooo thirsty. My eyes feel dry today too.

@@amylynns - I totally understand, I'm soooo sick of eggs, so sick of pureed everything lol. I found that Greek yogurt has more protein than regular, so I got a few of those last night...but today I'm stuck again. I found a recipe on pinterest for a cauliflower crust pizza...it looks so good, so I'm going to try that soon. Maybe mix some of the unjury unflavored powder in it. *sigh* I have another appt a couple days before thanksgiving, I'm hoping they tell me I can have a little but of stuffing lol. I really want bread. Even just toast would be fine with me...I'd even be happy to eat a can of chicken noodle soup without straining it. I'm a carb lover I guess lol :-/
-
I'm actually wondering if real sugar might not be so bad for me too. I can suck on sugar free throat drops, and I like sugar free popsicles, but most of the other stuff has been bothering me.
-
@@amylynns omg girl, I am so ready too lol...Although I feel like it's gonna be awkward, he's afraid to even snuggle with me, he thinks he'll break me or something lol. Your hubby hopefully come around soon and hopefully apologize for the mean things he said I agree with TinaC, they really don't get it sometimes! In the meantime tho, you have all of us to cheer you up! I love this group, nobody understands us more than each other. As for my belly...I definitely feel better today, thank you The enema helped, but I think my belly was just still all confused lol. The nap helped immensely too. I finally went on my own this morning, what a world of relief! I am staying away from the protein powders for a little bit tho, I'm too afraid of them. I'm trying to think of different ways to get in at least 60g a day...I think maybe some smoothies made with Greek yogurt and spinach will help some because I seem to tolerate yogurt pretty well...anyone have any other suggestions? The next time he asks what the scale says, say "it says I'm beautiful, and that I'm doing awesome" and walk away

Thoughts on sugar free?
Luna222 replied to nails211's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a horrible reaction to sugar free chocolate pudding with sugar free cool whip last week. Within 20 min I had belly cramping, I fell asleep for an hour and then woke again doubled over in pain...I had dumping syndrome for sure. Pain, sweats, chills, shaking, diarrhea, vomiting....it lasted for 3 hours! I will never eat that stuff ever again. I'm not a sleeve patient, but I had bypass a couple of weeks ago.
