My wife got blood clot after one month
Rebecca Friesen replied to Ralfkun's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a ct tech that scans constantly for pulmonary embolism. It is very common unfortunately. But the outcome can be just fine!!!! Yes there are worst case scenarios. But for the most part you are put on blood thinners and they dissolve the clots :-) it is very stressful I'm sure. Positive thoughts your way for your wife!!!! -
Has anyone weaned off vitamins?
Rebecca Friesen replied to KaiserKid's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Multivitamin and calcium only. I'm 1.5 years post op. -
I am an X-ray tech. Absolutely standard prior to surgery. Also C spine X-rays are getting used more to ensure no abnormalities prior to surgery. They want to ensure no problems with intubation :-)

I'm on 4th week post surgery
Rebecca Friesen replied to babsey101's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You are going to make yourself sick. Your stomach is still healing. I am 1.5 years out and just ate a sandwich today. It was a small one made out of a rap and it doesn't feel pleasant. You might want to take it a bit slower! :-) -
When Can I Start Eating Bread?
Rebecca Friesen replied to ImprovedDreamerGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get thin multigrain rice cakes that are gluten free and put peanut butter on it. That's the extent of my bread eating. Although I did have a bit of a bread stick at Olive Garden with my mussels!!! -
How many calories do you get in a day?
Rebecca Friesen replied to ajg91342's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 1.5 years out and eat 12-1500. Maintains my 165 weight. I am 5 foot 8. -
I am a mammo tech and you are exactly correct!! Large weight loss changes so much and the person reading your films will need to know. Weightloss changes the density of your breasts. ***and a friendly reminder to do a quick wipe under your breasts before the exam. I did a mammo once and when I lifted the breast a few riceckrispies fell onto the machine :-). Unless you want the tech to know what you just ate lol.

Has anyone had a hysterectomy prior to the sleeve?
Rebecca Friesen replied to turtle5569's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found my full open hysterectomy far worse!!!!!! -
I had my sleeve surgery January 2015. I am about 5 lbs from my goal weight. I started at 253 and currently weigh 164 lbs. I am 5 foot 8. My goal is 159. I have been this weight since November 2015. Longest stall ever. My body sits comfortably at this weight. I go as low as 163 and as high as 167 without doing too much. I hate the idea of not reaching my goal but no matter what I try it won't budge!!! I increase Protein. Nothing. Increase Water. Nothing. Cut out all treats of any sort. Nothing. Then I go back to my usual of just getting by without trying too hard. Seems like it will never happen!

Cramping and diarrhea!
Rebecca Friesen replied to Thecloude1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just got over a stomach bug where I had cramping and diarrhea. Lasted about 3 days and I lost 8 lbs!!! Could definately be a virus. Saw my doctor and she recommended fluids. No dairy. And if I could eat small bits of toast or rice. I'm pretty well back to normal but my restriction is super good now. I'm 16 months post op. -

One year after sleeve surgery can you eat a whole bagel with cream cheese?
Rebecca Friesen replied to Gail Ann's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am almost 16 months out. I occasionally eat bread or bagels. The most of a bagel I can eat is half and usually give the last bite to my husband. As for bread. I can sometimes eat a whole piece but usually only half. But I rarely eat those type of things. -

Rebecca Friesen replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 8 months out and it's been happening for about 6 weeks. Went to the doctor and got checked up and everything seems fine. I tend to have low blood pressure to start with but it has gotten worse. No answers but I completely understand. -
