    African American Hair (and loss)

I may try Hairfinity. Great info everyone. The pros outweigh the cons. I would rather welcome the regrowth of hair than the return of pounds & an unhealthy lifestyle. Blessings to everyone!

That's perfect. I'm in Camden daily. Looking forward to it. (Sorry for my typos in the previous post.)

    Self esteem & "Haters"

Hello. I'm just starting my 6 month journey to be approved. I was told by others to prepare myself for a huge increase in self esteem and unexpected haters (people that you thought would be happy for you, but turn into frienemies). Would any of you like to share your experiences & thoughts? I'm just trying to prepare myself for all of these changes.

    African American Hair (and loss)

Great info. I just spent the last year and a half "going natural". My surgery probably won't happen until May or June (which is my going natural 2 yr anniversary). I don't want to see all of my work fall out in my brush. A friend who had it done 2 yrs ago said she just kept her hair cut short and didn't notice any loss. I don't want to do that. I read on another thread that sew in weaves weren't good because the excessive shedding will get matted into your braids.

    African American Hair (and loss)

Hello everyone. I'm still in the pre-op stage, but I'm curious as to how the African American ladies have dealt with the inevitable hair loss. Any and all suggestions are welcomed.

Anyone Else Just Starting Their Journey?

I'm 5'8" 282 pounds , but have 6 months since my new insurance requires it. My current only requires 3. *SIGH* I feel the same way you do. I hope they approve me. Best Wishes!

    Sleeve vs Bypass

And yes....I'm leaning toward the sleeve for the very reasons you all mentioned. I just want my stomach to hold less, to actually feel full and leave my plumbing as it is. ????

    Sleeve vs Bypass

Thanks everyone. I decided to see the surgeon who performed the first sleeve procedure in our state. I asked a few of his patients about their experiences. They all said the same thing - he is honest & informative with a great bedside manner. I'm looking forward to my appt this Thursday.

    Sleeve vs Bypass

Hello everyone. I'm new to this community. I went to a seminar on the various procedures with my mind set on a VSG. Well, by the time I left I felt like I went to a car dealership looking for a Mercedes, but left with booklets on custom Phantom or Maybach. The surgeon was ALL ABOUT THE BYPASS being better with loads of data. I scheduled my surgeon consult with a different surgeon & I'm dreading the same result. I would love & appreciate your stories. The good, bad and ugly. I want to make a sound (non - emotional) decision. Thanks!
