  1. I had this problem to the same day I came home from the hospital. I was horriblely lightheaded with the first bout also. The next day it continued and I called the surgeon and he said to watch it and also check my pulse. Especially since it was bright red blood. Over the next couple of days it darkened, and I feel fine, so I believe everything is fine. That first day was very scary though. I probably should have gone in though. I have been feeling extremely cold and tired since then and my mom who is taking care of me says my skin is very cold to the touch now. I will probably get my blood check when I have doctor's appointment on Tuesday. I have never been that lightheaded in my entire life.

    Now post op

I had my surgery on the 15th of January and have been trying to recover since I got out of the hospital on Friday. I have been having bleeding problems, but I think they are under control now. Surgeon told me to take it easy with fluids and rest today, so I feel like a slug. Lol I know it will only get better with time. I am glad a had the surgery, even with the problems.

    January RNY Surgery

Less than 3 hours before I have to get ready for my ride to my hospital. I am still super excited, but am starting to get a bit nervous. No one is going to be able to stay with me due to things falling all out of order, but I am okay with that. I can always call them when I am feeling up to it. And I am going to be going home tomorrow anyways. I can't wait to start my new life!! I hope the gas pain isn't as bad as people keep saying. I have had surgery on my stomach that was laprascopic before and didn't have problems with pain, so I am hoping this will be the same. I need to try to get some sleep, but just can't even though I am a little tired. Have been up for almost 24 hours. lol Oh well, will sleep during surgery.

    January RNY Surgery

Well, it's Sunday night and I am starting the last couple of days before my surgery. I am still completely excited. I haven't heard from my surgeon about my blood work being off, so I am going to have to call them on Monday and ask them if my hemoglobin was okay. Otherwise, at 7:45am on Thursday morning I will be in surgery. Wow! How time flies. I have lost over 16 pounds since they weighed to make sure I was at my goal weight for my surgery, which was just a couple of weeks ago. I have gotten use to eating very little and most of the time I am not even hungry. I have to make myself eat and drink. It is not because I am busy, because I have plenty of time, it is just because I don't feel like I need anything. Before, when I ate whenever and whatever I wanted there was always something in my mouth. Now, there is very rarely something in my mouth. How strange. But, one thing I really like, I have tons of energy. I have been zipping around my house and my mom's house, cleaning and cooking. Those are things I would never have been able to do before. Only problem is some of the people I told that I am having surgery recently told me why don't I do it the way I am doing it right now. Well, I don't think you are suppose to stay on a less than 1000 calorie diet for more than a very limited amount of time. Maybe I am wrong. And I want to get to the point where I can eat again, even if it is small amounts.

My doctor's office has a pre-surgery class that you have to attend before they do surgery. It is about 2.5 hours long. From what the paper work said, they tell you everything you have to do when you get home from what you need as far as food to what to do with meds. I was a little concerned with all the meds I take, so I have been calling my general practitioner and asking her about some of my meds. She told me I could crush some of them until I got of of them or whatever was decided to do with them. I hope some of them go away. It is shocking to see so many meds when I just turned 38 and when I go to the doctor I get 2 pages of medications. WOW!

    January RNY Surgery

I have my surgery on January 15th and go on my pre-op liquid diet starting on January 1st. I am very excited to start my new life! I am tired of being fat and in pain all the time. I have been eating light meals and a lot of protein shakes for a couple of weeks now, but the protein shakes required for the liquid diet have less carbs, so I have to buy a different kind. The kind I have has 13 grams of carbs, the surgeon requires 2 or 3 grams. Big difference. I have had several surgeries, so I am not really afraid of not waking up from the anestesia, it is basically like going to sleep at home in bed. My surgeon seems extremely competent and I have no worries. I feel good about my choice.
