Hey folks my band to sleeve procedure is in the morning 12-5-2014 and my nerves and anxiety is at a all time high. So if you would everyone send me positive vibes that I don't die. Or get a infection or blood clot. I am a nervous wreck.

Hey folks. I am home from surgery. Everything went well so so far so good. It's amazing how different it feels with the band out. So now that the surgery is over my nerves have finally calmed down and I can focus on success. So I'm excited now. Thanks again everyone.

Thank you so much everyone. This forum has been amazing with the amount of support you folks are giving. It it really appreciated. Thank you everyone. It has helped tremendously.

I'm scheduled for surgery in the morning. My nerves are still out of control. To be honest. I am mentally fried from all the highs and lows.

Hey folks. My surgery was canceled due to my potassium being low and they could not get it above 3.0 so I have to be rescheduled.

I'm on my way down to the hospital.

Thank you everyone. I am just a worry wort and crazy. Haha

Hey guys how much pain was you in after the band removal and sleeve in one procedure? I am having this done Friday. In 2 days and my nerves are extremely rattled and my anxiety is through the roof. Not because of pain just the surgery itself. I am hung up on the fact they are removing part of my stomach. I am on chronic pain medication for my back and I have been on it for about 4 years now. I hope they can get my pain under control post op and send me home with something other than my normal pain meds. Can anyone give me any advice on this. Thanks in advance.

Thank you everyone. I assume it won't be near as bad as my back pin I deal with on a daily basis.

I have Cigna insurance and I submitted for a revision and within 2 weeks I was approved with a surgery date of December 5th. My surgeon told me I would have no problems with approval because she has documentation for several months of follow up with her that the band was causing me problems and gaining weight. This process was so quick for me it has been overwhelming. My surgeon really went the extra step to get me approved (I'm sure she likes the money she get paid so that's why she did it not because I'm special by any means) but I would really evaluate your surgeon to make sure he or she is doing all they can for you. And good luck. I hope it works out for you.

Babelfish thanks for sharing. I definitely have been encouraged to hear everyone say they are glad they had the revision. -
Hey folks! I am having a revision going from the band to sleeve in one operation on December 5th. Could some of you tell me how your experience went and the big differences you could tell after surgery. Now with the band it is uncomfortable to eat and just not a pleasant experience at all. And another thing I am looking forward to (and I know it sounds crazy and gross because I can't do it now) is vomiting. I physically cannot get anything up now when I'm sick. I just dry heave. And it is horrible. Do any of you regret getting a revision. Just kind of curious as to what to expect. Please share your thoughts and experiences. Thanks in advance.

@thesuse. Thanks for sharing your journey. When I eat it feels like I have a knife stuck in my sternum. So I am looking forward to getting this band out for sure. I just hope I can lose weight with the sleeve. Right now my band is about as full as it can go and I don't eat much at all because it is painful. So my fingers are crossed that this surgery helps me. Either way the band is coming out weather the sleeve helps me lose weight or not. And peachie glad to hear this forum is helping you. If you have any questions feel free to message me anytime. I'll be glad to give you any advise or encouraging words I can. Thanks everyone -

She has had her surgery scheduled for several months now. I just started the process about a month ago and already have a surgery date. I didn't expect to be scheduled before her. But my surgeon said she would move me to the front of the line -

We are both rather excited about it. The only thing we are really worried about is we have a 2 year old daughter. Taking care of her will be a little rough during recovery. But since I'm 2 weeks before her hopefully I'll be well enough to care for the little one and her since she will be caring for me during recovery. -

@@Peachie That sucks to hear. It was very disheartening for me also when I realized that I had failed with the band. But I went to a support group for the first time and realized that the band failed me I didn't fail the band. It just wasn't the right tool for me. But I understand what your saying. They should at least replace the band that they took out. I would suggest trying to find some support groups in your local area. I was the person who said support groups are a waste of time. But my wife convinced me into going to one with her (she is having a sleeve done December 18th) and I really really enjoyed myself and got a lot of encouragement and reassurance from the people there. It was quite uplifting to say the least. That may be helpful to you. I know this forum is great but there is something about being face to face with people that helps. But hopefully things turn around for you. I have been extremely lucky throughout. -

@peachiee the revision process for me was super easy. I just went to my surgeon and told her I wanted a revision to the sleeve and she said ok. I scheduled my psych evaluation and my surgeon sent documentation to my insurance that I have followed the requirements with her and have had several office visits and my band was not working for me after several fills and 5 years. And 2 weeks later here I am with a surgery date. My surgeon is fantastic in that she moved really quick in getting me through the process since the band did not work for me. But I hope you get what you need. It is really stressful for me. Haha. I have Cigna insurance. -

@bearhugs I know exactly what your talking about with the pain from eating but the bottom of your stomach is growling with hunger. I am looking forward to that disappearing. The port does not bother me too much but I do know that it is there for sure. I am a side/stomach sleeper so I do notice it then. But the full feeling is what I was curious about. Thanks for that info. -
Hey guys it's my first post, I had lap band in 2009 and did not lose much weight and gave up, now I am scheduled for gastric sleeve December 5th. I am a nervous wreck about the complications. Could people give me some insight on the complications or a leak and what should I expect with the sleeve and mainly any experiences or any info would be great from someone who has been there done that. The same surgeon who did my band is doing my sleeve. Thanks in advance.

Thank you Susan. The good thing is my wife is having the sleeve 2 weeks after me so we can support each other. But that still don't stop the nerves -

No I have not experimented with any protein yet. I just got my surgery date today. I wasn't expecting it to be so quick. Haha. But I have anxiety issues anyway. So I always think the worst.
