Finding it hard to get anything down as my nerves are wiping away my appetite. Hmmmm....hopefully it will reflect on the scale tomorrow and put us that much closer to goal!! To everyone else getting banded tomorrow just remember...it will be our LAST Fat Tuesday!

    Ladies? (waxing question)

HarleyNana.... You are hysterical!! Spit Water on my computer screen reading your post:lol: This thread rules. I soooo needed a laugh today!! I used to get Brazillian waxes all the time. They are uncomfortable, but if you get the right person to do it, it's not that bad. Then I met my husband and he wasn't into it. He preferred the hoo-ha to "look like a woman, not a teenager". So, I haven't had one in 5 years!! The episode on Housewives was SO funny. That poor woman not knowing what she was getting into. Ohhhhh vanity.....it's such a delight...LOL!!!

    Pre-Op Diet . . . What's yours?

Hi Rhapsody.. Welcome and CONGRATS on being a fellow Victorious Valentine!! My pre-op diet was almost identical to yours. Yes..the first few days are tough and you really do battle the horrible hunger pang. I broke up my "meal" with my protein shakes. For instance, I had a little bit of eggbeaters in the morning, a shake around 10am, a few almonds in the afternoon, a shake around 3pm, a small dinner (of what you described) and a shake around 8pm. I found that by spreading it out it may be feel more sustained. I've lost 12 lbs so far and my surgery is on Tuesday. My pre-op blood work came back "normal" so my liver is in good shape and I'm ready to go!! The diet isn't only good to shrink your liver, it's a great kickstart to our new journey. Hang in there. You CAN do it. And if you have a little "hiccup" along the way, don't beat yourself up. Make the necessary adjustments to adhere to the diet and will do AWESOME!!

Any LapBanders from San Diego, CA

I'm getting banded on Tuesday by Dr. Mueller as well. I believe they charge $250 for a fill. Hey Gus 123...how are you doing post-op? Dr. Mueller and team are so great, huh?

    Double V's- Whose Next?

Aveamora....EXACT same thing happened with me at my pre-op on Wed. The lab tech could not for the life of her find a vein, then when she finally did she forget to take the second vile of blood and had to start all over again...ay yi yi!! My pre-op was also 4 hours. It was LONG but very informative. I've been on pre-op for almost 2 weeks and have lost 12lbs!! The first couple of days are tough but stick with it...IT DOES GET EASIER!! I know that being on the pre-op diet is going to help me tremendously when I transition into the post-op phase. OMG...only 4 more days until my surgery. I hope I'll be shaking by booty with joy like Miss Diaz is...LOL

    recommitted to intense exercise

Has anyone gone to the "24 Lift" classes at 24 Hour Fitness? They are a reall butt-kicker. Great strength training and cardio because you are working your big muslce groups. I get banded next Tues and am sad that I will have to take a break from those classes for a few weeks. I'm aslo REALLY wanting to go back to Birkram Yoga....the kind where the heat up the room. MAJOR butt-kicker!! Keep up the good work everyone!!

    24 hours and Counting

Hey Pattie.. Yep...we're band sisters. I think it's funny that Tuesday is both Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) and Super Tuesday with the elections. All I know is it's going to be my LAST Fat Tuesday and hopefully the beginning of many SUPER Tuesday's to come :frown: Yes...I'm nervous...but ready. My programs and elaborate pre-class that I went to yesterday. They went over everything under the sun. My surgeon came in and went over the procedure one more time, the nurse that will be at the hospital spoke for about 45 mins, the dietician gave a presentation, and their in-house psychologist spoke as well. It was a long day...but they certainly left no stone unturned!! I feel very educated and and equipped to manage this experience and my expectations. But yes...I'm still nervous. I've done well on the pre-op diet and feel that it will help transition me into the post-op phase. I have to do clear liquids for a week, then full liquids, then move on to mushies. I think the first 2 weeks is going to be the most challenging!! As for the Superbowl, since my Chargers lost, I don't really care about the game. Won't be going to any parties, just getting ready for the big day. I don't know about you, but at this point I'm just ready for it to get here!!
  15. I just had an extensive pre-op class yesterday and they said we can take meds "as normal". Unless your medication is the size of a horse-pill you should be fine.

    Victorious Valentines Debut!!!!

Sorry to all of you who are sick....BUMMER!! Patti...you and I have the same surgery date. I go for my pre-op appt tomorrow as well. I guess if you're gonna get sick before is better than after. I can't imagine it will feel to good to be coughing after surgery. Hang in there everyone and try to get some rest!! I don't have a cold but I'm dealing with some WICKED constipation (sorry if TMI). Ugh.....it's awful. I powered down some Chinese Dieters Tea...powerful stuff. Hopefully that will "move things along". All this Protein can be a rough one on the digestive system!! Amy

    May I join you?

Hi Melissa.. You've come to the right place!! All of us Victorious Valentines are in the same boat as you!! Congrats on getting approved and getting your date. Feb 8th is next week!! Definitely find some Protein powders or shakes that suit you!! I've been doing my pre-op diet with Atkins shakes and a small low carb meal. Lost 7 lbs so far. I'm going to get some unflavored protein (maybe Isopure from GNC) just because my doc requires me to get in 60-80 grams of protein a day post op!! This site is definitely the place to find out all the "tricks of the trade" PLUS we've got each other here for support. Glad you're a Double V (Victorious Valentine)!! Amy

    It Is Official

Congrats patti!! Isn't it a GREAT feeling!! I'm getting banded on 2/5 too!! Do you have to do any sort of a pre-op diet?

    Victorious Valentines Debut!!!!

Peabody.. I hear ya on the b--tch thing!! I have pretty irritable on my pre-op diet....my poor hubby!! But I agree....it's amazing how we are forced to turn to other things than food. I went to the movies with a friend yesterday (saw Juno...totally adorable) and she ordered a big ol buttered popcorn. Although it smelled good, I wasn't DYING to have a bite. Instead, I busted out my Atkins shake and happily sipped it thru the first part of the movie. I didn't even think about the popcorn. Then I came home and my hubby had made a pizza. He was like "Oh god...I'm so sorry I thought you would be home later...I'll hide this from you". I laughed and said "honey, I'm making a life change, I'm going to be surrounded by food everwhere I turn.....I'm just going to go upstairs and get on Lapband talk"!!
  23. Hi guys... In the middle of the night I thought of a name for us Feb bandsters. "FEB ZEPPLIN'S"....we can be our own "band".. We can even come up with a catchy slogan like "Feb Zepplin's- The Rockin' Bodies Tour" We could probably have a hay-day coming up with stuff!! Anyway....just a thought. Maybe I'm just a big dork!!:whoo: Amy :music:
