Thinking about Band to Sleeve Revision. I'd love your advice.
cute1 replied to rklapband's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
That is great. I have done great since I was resleeved. I am not hungry and I feel my restriction this time. I saw my doctor in the states and he could definitely see a change in the size of my pouch. I have lost 18 pounds now. I am glad my band is gone. I like being able to eat all foods just small portions -

Yes I was told by radiologist and the surgeon that did my lapband in the U.S. that my stomach was left too large and the reason for always hungry was too much of the fungus was left in place. I feel totally different this time. I am not hungry now and I can only take in 2-3 ounces at a time and feel full. I went to Mexico for the resleeve and not the same surgeon who did the sleeve. He offered a gastric bypass or a band around the stomach that was left. I feel great! -

I had a lap band 2004 lost only about 20 pounds. I decided 4 years later to follow-up with my surgeon. At that time found a leak in the port that was changed and I lost 85 pounds and kept the weight off until fall 2013, another problem with the band.. I decided to get a sleeve. I got the sleeve 1/2014 which was unsuccessful. I was always hungry, no restrictions. I gained a total of 40 pounds before I was resleeve May 19th and have lost 12 pounds so far. I feel great, not hungry. I know with the sleeve there wasn't enough stomach removed according to the upper GI series. I had no problems with removal of the band. I am glad the band is gone because of all the food restriction. I couldn't eat salads, chicken, etc without vomiting, feeling like food was stuck. I think the resleeve is working and so glad I had it done! -
I had a gastric resleeve on May 18th. The problem I am having is a small amount of uncontrolled diarrhea, I never know when. I don't any pain. Has anyone else had this experiences?

Hello everyone, need to give an update. I didn't have surgery May 18th, was dehydrated and no one could get the IV. I had my resleeve yesterday. Everything is going well so far. I left the hospital today for the hotel that has a nurse and physician there if problems. So far I am happy and I think doing well -

I had a sleeve a year ago, had no weight loss. The sleeve was too large or stretched. I have gained about 40 pounds since my band was removed -

I am scheduled for a resleeve May 18th. Can't hardly wait! -
Did anyone like the band better?

I had the band around 2005 and had no weight loss. I decided in 2008 to go in for a adjustment and they found the problem with the port which was changed and I lost 85 lbs and kept off until November 2013. I had a slippage. I decided to go to Mexico for a sleeve since my insurance wouldn't pay anything for WLS. I had the sleeve in January 2014. I have gained 15 pounds since the sleeve now. I have never felt like others with the sleeve. I have always been hungry. I am now scheduled for a resleeve May 18th -

Band07 How are you today? I decided to resleeve. My daughter is going with me to have a sleeve. Unfortunately Dr Rod is not doing the surgery. He offered a ring around the sleeve or a bypass which I don't want -
Thanks, I am thinking about having another doctor do my surgery

Is there anyone out there who was resleeved? How did you do with your weight loss? I just sent my upper GI series disc to my original surgeon who did my sleeve. I have been told only about fifty percent cut away by the surgeon who did my band. They are telling me I should have a mini bypass instead of a resleeve. I gained 22 pounds in 14 months. I have never felt the not hungry feeling from day one.

The surgeon in the US did the band. My insurance paid. I had problems and my insurance wouldn't pay. I went to Mexico for removal of the band and the sleeve. My doctor in the US cared for me after the sleeve. He is the one who did the upper GI, told me only about fifty percent cut away. He will resleeve but the cash price for the resleeve or sleeve is 17,000 in the US. The original surgeon for the sleeve is talking mini bypass. Sorry for the confusion.

Band07 what happened to your band? Did you do a upper GI to evaluate.
-
I don't think 80 percent was cut away maybe because of scarring. I am supposed to mail a copy of disc to Dr Rod. I don't think I stretched it out. I have been talking to Jamie for about 8 months about how I was feeling, always hungry from day one.

Band7 I did well with the band, had a revision and has gained 22 pounds since having it. I have had a upper GI and only about 50 percent of my stomach removed. My problem is will do it, trying to decide -
I am reading all the post and excited for you all. I had my sleeve in Mexico. Dr Rod did the surgery removed the band and sleeve the same day. I didn't have a drain but everything went great. I plan on having a resleeve and hoping Dr Rod will do. I do have a backup plan

Quick question. I just had a upper GI today to see if problems with sleeve. I don't remember how much was being cut away. Can someone help me with that?

I had a lap band, loss about 85 pounds, got a slippage and decided to have a gastric sleeve. I had the sleeve January 2013. I never had the no hunger situation. I loss a few pounds initially. Now I am ten pounds above the weight before the sleeve. I am thinking about a resleeve procedure. I would love to hear from you if you resleeve and if any success. I am having a issue with my parathyroid and now will be having surgery. I am a NP and can't find where that has anything to do with my weight loss. I also workout, have a personal trainer.

Did you have Almanza for the sleeve or resleeze? I was thinking about a resleeve with him.
-
Where in Mexico does Dr.Wilhelmy practice? What is the cost? What do know about Dr.Almanza in Tijuana?
-
Ok thanks. I had my sleeve in Mexico. I have an appointment with the surgeon that did the band in the states. I will try to find the post before resleeve. Thanks again!

I have tried everything. I get my 60 to 70 protein in everyday 25 to 35 carbs in. They told me eating too few calories to increase to a 1000 calories. Some days feel like no restrictions. I was told to eat more beef.
