November sleevers in Mexico?
wantingabetterlife replied to Becca R.'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@ Congrats on your progress so far! I am having the same issue with hair loss. Not enough to notice but I see a lot in the shower and when I brush it. I hope it slows down or stops soon! And I too have had a few issues of feeling depressed and not knowing if it was surgery related or life related. Our lives have been spinning like crazy and I hope it has been related to that and not the surgery. @@Revgirl Congrats to you too! I have become a frequent shopper at our local Goodwill. I wear it until it gets too big, donate it back, and then buy something else. I'm lucky because we have a nice, big one near me. I love your ideas for meeting your goals! As for me, I met my first goal....to get off of some meds and get some health issues in order. I am no longer type II, so I got to quit that medicine. My cholesterol dropped, so that medicine is gone. Still having heartburn issues and my gastro doc said I probably will for up to a year and maybe for life. I can live with that! My blood pressure is still a little too high to come off of that medicine but it has been lowered. My second goal was to reach Onederland....I got there! Now I kind of feel like I am on the downward slope now. It is much slower coming off now but it is moving! I still have a way to go but I can tell a difference already. I am now in a size 14 comfortably, size 12 some but tight. I put a couple of pictures on my profile at my two month mark. There is no doubt in my mind that I made the right decision and can definitely say this is a whole new life! Thanks for taking the time to post. I have missed hearing from everyone. I just wanted to make sure things were okay! -

Eat SLOW, very SLOW and CHEW, CHEW, CHEW! I had the same problem initially and it was because I wasn't waiting long enough between bites, taking too large of a bite, and not chewing it until it was almost not there. After I learned that, it got much easier. Best of luck to you and hope it gets better soon.

How do you know you're full?
wantingabetterlife replied to CountryGirl5584's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@JamieLogical I get that same feeling. I feel like I need to burp but it feels like food is coming up with it. Bottom line, you learn to recognize when you are getting full. And if you think "I'll just have one more bite"......you end up regretting it! -
Stall? Same weight down to the oz.
wantingabetterlife replied to gettinghealthymom1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome to the wonderful world of stalls. Like @@Tammylb said, they happen....regularly. Even when going through one, your body can change. I got stuck for almost three weeks at the same weight. During that time, my body shifted and I lost quite a few inches. Then one day, the scale started to move again and pounds started coming off. Just stick to your program and drink lots of water! Some people even suggest upping your calories so your body doesn't think it's starving. Good luck and best wishes!!! -
OMG....ONEDERLAND!!! Thought it was a mystical place that I'd never see again!

Wow - congratulations!! So excited for you. I've only 15 lbs to go to be there myself, so I can imagine how thrilled you are.

Pain in back
wantingabetterlife replied to slangland's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Amy, They kept my pain meds on a regular schedule while in the hospital so I didn't have any then. Once released (2 days post op), I had a little pain but I think it was gas pains. The more I walked, the better it got. My incision areas were sore but not painful. -

Progress Pics - 5 Months Out - Down 40 Pounds
wantingabetterlife replied to JamieLogical's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You look great. I feel the same way when I look in the mirror. I never noticed I was putting on 5, 10, 15, etc pounds but I look and expect to notice when I have lost 2! Others say I look much smaller but I still don't see a HUGE change. Keep up the good work, you DO look smaller! -
Pain in back
wantingabetterlife replied to slangland's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had some pain there and in my shoulder. Gas X strips and walking were the best thing for me. The more I walked, the less I had discomfort. -
When did ur doc clear you for sexual activity
wantingabetterlife replied to monopoly2015's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine said "whenever you feel up to it"! It actually happened right after the first week. As long as you aren't doing anything wild and crazy, there is no discomfort. -

To MX Alone
wantingabetterlife replied to GingerLeAnna's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went alone too. I was scared to death but as soon as I was picked up at the airport, I made friends with the others in the van. We supported each other and their support people kept checking on me too! We walked around together at the hotel and the hospital. Everyone else there with you is nervous and scared too! Good luck to you. -
Great job!!! Can't wait to join you in that mystical world!
