    Slipped Band

I agree with coltonwade....you should have your mom go back to her surgeon and see what they have to say. It might be something else....it's worth seeing what your original doctor has to say.

    Slipped Band

Wow I am so glad that I came across this posting because I went to the doctor last Thursday 10/16 and my doctor told me to go on a soft/mushies diet for 3 weeks and then go back under floroscope to see if my stomach went back the way it was supposed to. I had no idea I would have a possible slip. I was going in for a fill then he looked and said well your pouch is really big so either the band slipped or not sure what happened. I am so bummed out about that. Any ideas of what I need to be doing in the 3 weeks besides just eating mushies? Thanks, Karen

    Before....During....Pictures!!!!

Hello everyone. Sorry it's been a while since I have checked in. To date I have lost 85 lbs. I had my surgery on 9/20/07. The first picture was taken of me the night before my surgery and the other picture was me doing a walk over the Coronado Bridge in San Diego last month. I also just finished a 55 mile bike ride last Saturday....and I signed up to do the Lone Star Ride in Sept which is 175 miles over 2 days. Wish me luck!!!! I hope everyone is having a great weekend!! Karen

    Banded on 4/28/08

Hi everone. I was banded on 9/20/07 and I am SO GLAD that I decided to get the band. I have lost 75 lbs so far and I feel GREAT!!! The things that you're feeling now after having surgery....don't worry it does get much better  Hang in there. My dr told me to take Miralax to help with the constipation or gas x strips for the gas pain and both of those helped me tremendously. I wish you all lots of success on your journey....oh and the guilty feeling....don't think of it as you couldn't do it on your own because trust me you still have lots of work to do on your own. Karen

    The Sweetheart Goal!

Hey everyone. I have been doing ok lately I haven't seen anything on the scale though. I really need to get back with exercising. I haven't done so in a few days and I could really tell a difference. I'm going to start back tonight. I have been having fill issues....I went a week ago Thursday and was too tight so I went on Tuesday to get some taken out and they took way too much out so I didn't have any restriction at all. I went back yesterday and they just put a little back in so I still don't have a lot of restriction. Then I go back again on the 21st. I just hope I can stay good and lose the weight....I'm sure getting back with working out will help. Hang in there everyone!!! We can do it!!! Karen

3 mo out, how is everyone?

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone else is having problems like I am. I have gotten 2 fills so far and after the 2nd one I had to go back in and have them take some out because I couldn't keep anything down. I had a 3rd fill scheduled but cancelled because so many of my friends are telling me that the amount that I'm eating isn't enough. So if I go out to eat I try and eat a little more and it ends up coming back up. Is it because of not chewing good enough? Or eating too fast? Just gets really frustrating when I have to go into the bathroom so much after eating. Do you think I should make an appt for a fill and make sure everything looks ok on the flouroscope? Any ideas?:help: Thanks, Karen

    Breast Cancer 3 Day

I have done the 3 day in 2005. It was an awesome experience. This was when it was in June so it was HOT but they listened to what everyone had to say and changed it when the weather was going to be a little cooler....although you never know in Texas You can do it...there are SO many people out there you forget about how far you're going. And just remember why you're walking and it makes it all worth it Good luck!!!! Karen
