Vines, Don't worry about us for a change, just worry about you. Practically impossible for you, I am sure, but give it a whirl anyway. Just go home relax and be loved. Just don't forget to pop in and let us know how you are doing because WE WILL be thinking about you! big hugs

Thank for being understanding. It's weird to me when someone "gets" it. I just did a search for your thread on cushings and reread the symptoms list. I am just not sure if that would be me. Of course, I am not a doc, so I guess I am not supposed to know. The one thing they seem to say is always shared by those with cushings is the thinnig arms, legs and excess weight in face. I would say that I am the opposite. I am shaped something like Grimace from Sesame Street--smallest at the top of my head and increasingly larger as you go down. there were a few things that struck me though 1. it can be caused by over exposure to meds like prednisone, which i was on for years for asthma growing up. i have been off it for years though. 2. a pituitary tumor can cause it. i use to have to get a MRi every six months because something in my blood test (heightened levels of prolactin--i know, how bizarre. i have never been pregnant) indicated a pit. tumor and they thought they found one on the film. later they said it didn't show up again so i must not have it. ??? ok, i thought, i guess that is good. 3. this is a bit embarassing but i have always wondered why i have so much embarassing hair on my chin. i have to pluck constantly or i look mannish. my arm hair is equally embarrassing and my legs can get down right frightening. very course, dark and THICK. YIPES! i need to buy my own salon! this has all really got me thinking. is there something larger at work here? am i just doomed for fathood forever? i am stunned i haven't lost any weight really. especially considering how little i am able to eat now. it is simply unworldly. now i just have to get over being so shy with my doc. or actually, i should probably just get a new one. *sigh* thanks again for your help!!!

What does all this water actually do?
LilAngel replied to LilAngel's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just devoured that article. That IS the best explaination I have ever read. I wonder why my docs didn't tell me that over the years. It seems so simple. Sounds like I just need to hang in there. *sigh* I think I can... i think I can... I think I can.... THANK YOU!! -
You are sooooo stinking BEAUTIFUL!!!! God, I really hope you are able to get this. You really deserve it!

Well, I finally admitted to my beau that I am in dire need of professional help. I think I am fighting depression now, maybe the worse I have seen in quite a long time. At least I think so. I always ask myself “Do I really need medication?” “It is just my situation?” “What is causing these thoughts?” “Am I just lazy, unmotivated?” “Do I just have a crappy outlook or attitude?” “It is my job?” Does anybody else ever go through this? How do you know what to do? How do you talk to your doc about it? How do you know if you really are ill or if it is situational? For the most part, I actually think my life is great. How weird is that? If you have been here before, how do you get through each day without quitting your job and crawling into bed? God I am desperate. I know I am because I am posting about my wacko mind and feelings to a ton of people and feeling totally exposed!!! I am nuts. Just nuts. :help: PS. I do have a doc appt on Friday. *sigh*

I think I need a primer on this. I did take Phentermine, but only watched as all of my friends and relatives lost weight and mine didn't budge. (wow, that sounds like what is going on with the band ) So phentermine is only part of it? Maybe I was missing the good part? Anybody able to explain these drugs for the simple folk (me  ) I looked up the Acomplia mentioned earlier. I hope that does come out in June as suspected. I hope it works and I can take it!! WEEEE!

Does anyone Chew and spit just to get the mental out of the way?
LilAngel replied to elain31's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
 GREAT QUESTION!!!! I have done this. I wondered if I was a freak. Not very often though. What I seem to have noticed, which I was sooooo surprised about, was that the swallowing provides much of the satisfaction. Werid, huh? Anybody else notice that? -
80% (Dixie). That is a pretty strong Southern score! Kentucky is my home state!

a gabillion depending on the day and the mood my band is in. but mostly it depends on my food choices. i had a candy bar today (hiding my head in shame) so i am sure that really racked them up! agh agh agh!!!

Finally--RESTRICTION!!--Then gone after 3 days????
LilAngel replied to Charlee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Charlee, that is my life exactly. But it seems to go up and down a lot. Sometimes i fill like my fill is just what it needs to be and feel like i can barely eat. other times i can eat 2 slices of pizza just like regular folks (well almost-slower and a bit smaller bites). i can't figure it and don't know what to do. but at least know i have a word to describe it...PERSNICKETY! -
I am losing interest in my band....
LilAngel replied to Clementine's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree with Babs. that doesn't sound right to me. Alos, I understand being shy. I have such a hard time being assertive with my doctors. Lately I have just kept repeating in my head what I have read from Penni a few times--REMEMBER: THEY WORK FOR US! -
I'm A Bandster, You're A Bandster!

From one AZ bandster to another..WELCOME!!! -
I am quite PS stupid, so I hope this isn't a dumb question, but what does it mean to come in too late for a consult? Thanks!

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!
LilAngel replied to Rockin' Robyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
this is so nice to see. I love this thread! -
Hmmm...this is defintely food for thought (no pun intended). I was just finishing a whole frozen meal when I ran into this thread. (Michelina's Lean Gourmet, by the way, because it is pretty good and CHEAP!) Geez, will this thing ever work? *sigh*

This is interesting. I think I will monitor this more closely and kind of do my own little experiment. Guess we'll see what I find.

hmmm....coffee. i hope not. but i only have coffee in the morning. a 10oz cup, and often i don't finish it. still after lunch or dinner (I don't often do breakfast) I am so useless. i often have to lay my head down, i just can't not do it. What is this monitor? Is it something any one can pick up? Or is there something else for at home testing? I don't trust my docs for much of anything. Almost every test I take says I am normal and I am anything but.

vines, speaking of thyroids and being "fine" i got some blood tests back that I took to double check be after this last run of meds. now they say i am in normal range. maybe this is a recent thing. i am going to give this a little while longer to see if any more weight drops, if not PUSH I shall! ps. i am feeling beyond exhausted these days. i have to go out on lunch time at work to take a quick nap or i can barely make it through the day. how normal is that really when you are getting plenty of sleep? normal, ha!

Vines, your wisdom and encouragement have meant so much to me. And still do. My little four pounds (yay 4 lbs now instead of 2!) since October has gotten me down so many times, but I kept picking myself up and kept going back to the doctor. I knew someone else understood and I felt empowered by that. (By the way, I get the results from my latest blood test today. The test I took because of your encouragement. Now that is touching a life! Keep your fingers crossed for me.) All I can say is thank you. Congratulations on the success you have had and sending you wishes for many more good things to come this year.

Poll - Do you use fitday.com or something else?
LilAngel replied to Bandster Brad's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
off and on. i don't use it everyday. seomtimes i even skip a week, but i am ALWAYS counting in my head EVERYTHING that goes in my mouth. it is very helpful to have a record of it though. -
just a quick word on Armour. i don't want to be a poo-pooer, but i was on it for a long time and it didn't seem to be any better than what I am on now (L-thyroxine). i didn't see any results. but then again, to be fair, that coud be for a lot of reasons. anyway, i hope everybody else has better luck, but stay vigilent about retesting your blood and dose adjustments. if it doesn't work be sure to ask for something else. good luck.

Of course the determination of the appropriate fill is VERY personal and individual, but I was wondering just out of curiosity what the highest, but not too tight fill, everyone has. I don’t mean it to be a contest or anything, or to determine for sure my own needs, I was just wondering… I have tried just checking by siggy’s, but it is a very disconnected way to look at the data. Anyone up for sharing that number with me? THANKS!!!

big bottles seem to be key for me as well, but then i only eat 3 times a day. i time my 30 mintues after breakfast and have a reminder come up on my computer to tell me it's go time! then i try to get 2 liters in before lunch. if i don't i wait my 30 mintues again and finish up before dinner. i never drink late at night. i'm guessing you can figure why, on that one.
