I left from dfw yesterday morning at about 9:15 and at 1:00 I was in the OR--by 3 back in my room. Stayed at hospital last night-at the hotel now getting ready to go walk the mall! I'm in Monterrey--and it is 61 . This morning it was 10C (50F and everyone was wearing jackets!) So far lapland is a beautiful place!! Mary 12/28/2007 Dr. Arturo Rodriguez/Monterrey

I had my band put in yesterday and am getting ready to go to the mall and walk. I got back to my hotel room at about 10 this morning--yesterday went so easy for me. They automatically came in and gave me pain meds yesterday afternoon and last night--I'm now on an oral pill. Very little gas so far. I hope I'm not "jinxing" myself--but I feel great!! Hola!! I just had my band yesterday afternoon and am in my hotel room getting ready to go to the mall! Dr. Arturo Rodriguez in Monterrey and his whole crew are fantastic!! I live just north of Dallas-it was 1hour 40 min flight. everything has gone exactly like I was told So far I'm only singing praises! I'm counting on being able to drive home from the airport. My surgery is tomorrow afternoon-and then I will be coming home Monday afternoon. and my little red car will be sitting at dfw waiting for me! Mary:car:

I'm tomorrow! I leave dfw at 8:50 am, arrive Monterrey at 10:30 and will have it done tomorrow afternoon!!! And excited doesn't even begin to describe how I feel! Mary

my choice of band is that my doc use whichever band he thinks will be best for me and that he is most comfortable using! Mary

The insurance I have won't cover it--but the good part of that is that I don't have to jump through all their hoops and get their "permission"! I'm going to Dr. Arturo Rodriguez in Monterrey Mexico. With everything I've researched and studied, I am satisfied with my choice. In fact if you go to the the realize band web site-some of the patients on their are his patients! He is a proctor for J & J for the realize band Mary

i'm 5'5"/225 and having my surgery on Friday(28th)I'm self-pay and going to Monterrey Mary

I' m on the 28th also--I don't have a pre-op diet requirement--other than "don't go crazy with last supper" Just nothing to eat or drink from midnight Mary

the best thing I have found for removing adhesives from the skin is nail polish remover. the ones with acetone work the best. After you get the adhesive off, then wash the area with soap and Water and apply lotion mary band on the 28th!

Hi, I'm all set for my band next Friday(28th) and am starting to think about what I need to take with me. I am going to Monterrey-flying in on Friday morning-surgery friday afternoon and coming home on Monday. I will spend sat & sun in a hotel in monterrey. I want to keep my packing as light as possible and don't want to check luggage-just carryon stuff. So--my question--what absolute-have to take items do I need to include. Mary

I think it depends on the circumsances--if you have lost 150 lbs and are now in a normal range-then yes-it is a compliment. But as well meaning as people may be-if you have lost some and still have a lot to go and are obviously still obese-then being called skinny doesn't feel good. I base this on previous attempts to lose weight-lose a little bit-still over 200-a long way from skinny! But then, this time will be different-I'm getting my band on the 28th!! Mary

I am in Texas and going to Monterrrey for the surgery on the 28th. I'm in the anxious-nervous-excited stage! Mary

I am staying at the Marriott also--I'm flying in on the morning of the 28th and having the surgery that afternoon. then I'm staying until Monday. I will be on my 2nd day when youi get there! Who is your coordinator?
