    C25k. Keeping myself honest

I can second this. See my post earlier in the thread. I did not have good results. There is a reason the program is designed like it is. It is awesome that we have been bit by the running bug but you definitely need that day off.
  6. I am in the market for a good pair of running shoes. I currently wear a 14 wide (down from 15 wide pre-surgery). Most stores around me only carry up to size 13 and wides are even harder to find so it looks like I will have to order online. Any other big footed guys out there have any recommendations?

    Running Shoes for Big Feet

Thanks guys. I run in a pair of New Balance right now and they seem to be holding up pretty well but the fit is just not quite right. My friend recommended the Brooks too. I will check them out.

    C25k. Keeping myself honest

I have not. I want to make sure I can finish this program and run 5K my own before trying it in front of witnesses LOL. Good luck! You are doing so well by the time Oct gets here you will be able to do it backwards.

    C25k. Keeping myself honest

What I have been doing is weight training Mon, Wed, Fri and C25K Sun, Tue, Thurs with Sat as my rest day. I would like to do cardio 5 days a week and I much prefer running outside to an elliptical or treadmill. I think I'm going to give it a go.

    C25k. Keeping myself honest

So, I am on W4 D3 and it is going a lot better than I expected. Here is my question. Does everyone here stick by the 3 day a week plan? I am thinking of increasing to 5 days I am enjoying it so much.
  11. Well, I finally had surgery yesterday. Surgery began at 7:30, I was in my hospital room at 10:30 and by 11:30 I was up walking the halls. Pain was minimal, no nausea, heartburn, etc. the hardest part was nothing to drink the rest of the day. Started today at 5:30 am walking the hall. By 8 am I started the phase 1 liquids. One ounce every 15 minutes has been no problem even threw in some broth and couple of Popsicles. Walked the halls so much most of the staff and half the other patients knew my name. Met with surgeon at 4 pm who said I was doing excellent and let me come home. Feeling blessed not to have any complications so far. Thanks to everyone here who have shared their experiences and advise.

    Home from the hospital.

@@ladee2279 I did a 2 week full liquid diet then Clear liquids only the 2 days before surgery. I lost 20 lbs. in those 2 weeks then gained back 6 lbs. of Fluid while in the hospital!

    Very discourged

Good to hear from someone going through the same thing I am. Love to read the positive responses.
  14. Had my surgery on Nov 10th too. Not feeling too tired but have been on a stall for about a week. Coupled with tendinitis in my right foot that is hampering my ability to exercise is driving me nuts. Hope everything works out for both of us.

    Home from the hospital.

One week post op I am down 10 lb and 41 lb overall. Feeling awesome!
  16. I know this is a side effect of the ketosis but LORD HAVE MERCY. Never had it this bad when I was on Adkins. Does this go away? Soon? Any ideas on how to mask this other than brushing and listerine every 30 minutes?
  17. @@Tssiemer1 I have been drinking Premier shakes too but I didn't notice the breath before the surgery. @@wannaBthinsoon Good call on the breath spray. Need to def pick some up.

I Have Accepted That My Tummy

A friend of mine is 5 years out from a bypass and still can't handle chicken.

    So freakin nervous!

I understand where you all are coming from. I was a nervous wreck before my surgery. Everything is fine and you are making the right decision. When they are prepping you Don't hesitate to let the nurses know you are nervous. They can help you out with that. Good luck.
  20. Not going to lie, the pre-op diet was hard. By the end, I was starting to look at people like this: I'm 4 days post-op now and solid food isn't even in my vocabulary.

    Insurance you're killing me
